I am sarcastic, introspective, and hungry.

My Self-Summary

I'm reminded of the time that I was blinded by the sun.

I actually have little idea what to put here, so here is some nonsense. I watched Love, Actually again at a friend's request and it may be the most sappy and romantic movie ever. I love it, and the mancrushes on Hugh Grant it gives me. I spend far too much money on trips to cities across the country on short notice, but have yet to regret it. Seattle was the crowning bit so far this summer, having been wrangled in to an excellent job managing a television station. I love baking things, even if my skills are rudimentary. I am hypercompetitive when it comes to Scrabble and other board games. Though I am not the best singer or dancer, this does not stop me from doing both extensively. I have owned marbles since I was 4 years old, and still have no concept of how to "play" them. Anyone willing to teach me will be my new best friend. I get very invested in politics and current events in general, and like talking about both at length. I do not look particularly appealing in dresses. I simply lack the hips. Giggle fits at 24 hour diners are the best way to end a night out. I love making mix cds. Ask and you shall receive.

Freddie Mercury had a spectacular mustache.

What I’m doing with my life

Whirling. Going to school, stealing music, shaking my fist at things, and occasionally being productive.

I’m really good at

Pretending I know what I am talking about.

The first things people usually notice about me

Oh Dear. You're a ginger.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Too many to list. However, I shall attempt the endeavor.

Books: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Everything is Illuminated, Special Topics in Calamity Physics, anything by a Sedaris sibling, Kiss Me Judas, God Bless You Mr. Rosewater, the usual classics of Western lit (The Road, The Stranger, The Metamorphosis, etc.) I also enjoy quite a few histories, especially dealing with Roman civilization.
ee cummings, willy c williams, ts eliot

Movies: Brazil, Blue Velvet, Crybaby, Children of Men, Seven Samurai, Wristcutters, Amelie, Monty Python films, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Big Lebowski, High Fidelity, Empire Records, and I give up on this for now.

Music: In short, everything. A sampling includes Elliott Smith, Nina Simone, DFA 1979, Broken Social Scene, Spoon, of Montreal, Daft Punk, Sam Cooke, Neutral Milk Hotel, Los Campesinos, Wilco, Jets to Brazil, Built to Spill, Belle and Sebastian, X, Nico, Passion Pit, Elvis Costello, Andrew Bird, The Beatles, Velvet Underground, Django Reinhardt, Sloan, Joni Mitchell, Buzzcocks, The Replacements, Hanson and countless others. I also adore She & Him, partially because I am in love with Zooey Deschanel.

Food: Meat. Other non-meat things that will kill me slowly. To be honest, I like just about anything, though a few foods have textures that I am just averse to. I adore Middle Eastern and Italian cuisine, as well as Indian. I play with my food and like to sculpt things out of it. Also, brunch at Yaffa on St. Marks = heavenly.

The six things I could never do without

Zee Internet, Some form of musical accompaniment (humming along is just fine, thank you), bad habits (caffeine, my love), a sense of wonder, banter, and people to share the first five with.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

The state of the world and why people act the way they do.

On a typical Friday night I am

Sitting in a smoky bar with friends attempting to recite Shakespeare quotes from high school, or baking baking baking while playing board games to Law and Order reruns. That, or scanning the internet, attempting not to fall into another pit of depravity.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I don't like fresh tomatoes.

You should message me if

You are sarcastic to a fault.
