hypersensitive, hypercallous, and I don't care
My self-summary Propose an edit
I'm ambivalent. I hate it when I miss people I can't forgive. It
pits me against myself.
Anyway, I'm not spending much time here anymore. Got tired of
people thinking you have to be like them or view things from their
POV to be considered acceptable. There's a difference between
morality and perspective, but some people like to think that a
difference in perspective means other people are immoral, and I am
a little sick of that kind of dogma.
Some people think that if they are different from the mainstream
culture, then they can't be conformists, but there is such a thing
as subculture conformity. As the Japanese saying goes, the nail
that sticks out gets hammered.
So why do I miss the person I can't forgive? Because up until the
end anyway, it was a person who had been willing to consider
different points of view. A person I was quite different from and
yet felt 110% comfortable being myself with.
It's funny how you can surround yourself in people who you think
are so much like you, but then feel an outsider because they demand
conformity and loyalty to their opinions, whereas you can feel the
same with someone who is quite different because the person is
willing to at least consider other viewpoints. To just talk and
explore what makes others think the way they do.
You would think the people who are like you would be easier to get
along with, and sometimes that is true, but that is not always
true. It depends entirely on the person.
The bottom line is that open mindedness is not ideological. It's
just a decision people make and probably comes from emotional
security as much as anything. How much do you need to believe
something and whether you are sure enough to not need reassurance
from everyone else.
I don't know why I am writing this. I think to just explain why I
am no longer posting here much.
I feel safe with certain people from this site, but on the whole I
don't feel emotionally safe here anymore.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Nothing real. I'm collecting points on neopets playing games, so I
can paint my unicorn brown. It may be meaningless, but I am
enjoying it.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
demanding attention and eating fried shrimp. And
seeing things from a different point of view from a lot of people,
it would seem.
I'm good with poetry and lyrics. With the kind help of Major Zed
and Charlie at the Interrobang Cartel, there's a new song inspired
by this site called Online
Dating. It's meant to be funny in a snarky sort of way,
And the peace song I wrote before the war in Iraq: The
Pied Piper of Crawford
Here are some of my poems I have written:

Hostage,

Online Dating,
Insanity Confession, and
It's All About Depth.
And art:

Otherwise I am only good at making dumb puns. And playing let's
pretend.

OK, they probably notice I'm a space cadet on Cloud 9.

The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Six things I could never do without: 1) the ability to express
myself 2) access to decent transportation 3) humor 4) personal
space 5) creativity and 6) My mom (I'm going to be so fucked up
when she dies some day.)
Six things I could never do without IN A PARTNER: 1) Openness and
Honesty 2) Sense of Humor that is similar to mine 3) Accessibility
and Friendship 4) Intelligence 5) Empathy, Compassion, and
Emotional Maturity 6) Equality and Respect
I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
how people do and think things assuming they are right, when they
are not right, but they never figure it out. And even if they do,
they inevitably figure it out too late. But they fuck up good
things in the process and half the time other people end up paying
for their sins.
And how they rationalize EVERYTHING and assume they are infallible.
But then people like that usually hedge their bets, so I suppose
from their point of view they can't possibly lose.
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
watching Jay Leno. It's the only tv I watch these days, and mainly
just the beginning.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I care more about people understanding me than they usually care to
understand me. The word privacy doesn't mean much to me. Secrets
don't mean much to me. Except lately...having your trust betrayed
kind of shuts you down a bit.
But usually my excessive openness limits who wants to understand me
to either people who can't understand me or those who find honesty
refreshing.
Also, I have no interest in Casablanca, the Coen Brothers, Amelie,
Tom Hanks, The Princess Bride or how far Lola can run. I rarely
watch TV, but I do like experimenting with movies based on
recommendations or trying things out that people with similar
tastes enjoy, which is easier said than done. I can enjoy adult
cartoons, but animation does not compensate for a bad script or a
lack of plot. In other words, I'm fussy, fussy, fussy!
I like what I like, and if I don't like it, then I don't like it.
And I don't hold much stock in "acquired tastes."

Let me eliminate some people first. I don't think much of right
wing lunatics (in other words, anyone who can still be a Republican
after 8 years with Bush), left wing single issue moral purists (in
other words, people who love to think they are morally more pure
than everyone else for usually trivial reasons)[Definition of a
fanatic: someone who can't change their mind and won't change the
subject], someone who is proud of their sarcasm (to them I say bite
it), and people who don't believe in relationship equality.
I do think well of people who opposed the war in Iraq, who consider
being creative and artistic important, who value the individualism
of people, who think diversity is usually cool, who enjoy ironic
humor, and who are either optimistic or are struggling against
their cynicism.
