My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I've been told my profile is "excessively thorough," "too long," and "dumb." You've been warned.

Let's see, I'm originally from California and I like to think that I retain some of that heritage. I'm enlisted in the military, so that means I swear quite frequently. Not because I lack proper vocabulary, but because it's sort of a learned dialect. I'm a network engineer by trade, but a pilot by love. I have my pilots license and am slowly finishing up the commercial training. Flying occupies some of my time, and when I'm not aloft, I'm usually watching incredibly good movies, discussing theoretical physics, playing video games, surfing the web to increase my limitless pool of knowledge, hanging out with friends around a fire, collecting vast amounts of illegal music, playing games with friends, reading nerdy sci-fi/fantasy books, enjoying a clear night walking around, pondering the great mysteries of our universe, and occasionally I'll go out for some drinks. A good way to see if I'd be interested in something would to ask an average person if it would be considered nerdy. If the answer is yes or maybe, then I'd probably enjoy it. Politically, I'm a libertarian(socially liberal, fiscally conservative). I dislike both major parties. I have an extremely broad sense of humor and find the oddest things hilarious. That trait offends people sometimes, but I can't help it. I have an 85lb German Shepherd named Lucy at home, she's awesome, the only reliable female in my life besides my mom. Lastly, I'm an atheist. I find organized religion to be a plague upon the earth. If you are overly zealous about your religion, you would be wise to 1) keep your distance, 2) be ready for debates, or 3) at the very least be okay with me not participating in your spiritual journey. This doesn't mean I don't find beauty in art or spirituality in nature, it just means I have little interest in man-made organizations attempting to control these things.

Oh, fun fact: Actual female nerds get +3 to charisma around me.

So based on the Myers–Briggs test, I am an INTP. After reading about it, I believe it to be pretty damn accurate.

Here are some things I really enjoy:

My car
Road trips
Video games
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I originally majored in Aviation Science (professional pilot). I went to school in Warrensburg, MO, but I was offered a ridiculously overpaid position overseas (Abu Dhabi, UAE) for a year so I did that and then came home in 2009. Then I went back two years later to live in Dubai for a couple years. I finally finished with the desert adventure and came back to STL for good in the beginning of 2014.

I've been enlisted in the Air National Guard for about 15 years now and I'll probably leave whenever this redneck state decides to legalize cannabis or when my enlistment is up, whichever happens first.

I have a house in Fox Park (near Lafayette Square and Soulard) and I keep busy working on it when I can. I have a fire pit in the back now, so we can drink while playing with fire. I love all the old architecture in the city, so I can't really see myself ever living in the county. I like the city so much, in fact, that I'm looking into buying houses at tax auction to prevent them from being abandoned and condemned.

I bought a kayak during the summer and I've been using the hell out of it. Love me some alone time on the water.

Oh, take the test I wrote. Please.

I'd like to move to New Hampshire or Colorado one day. I like Colorado's social and physical environments, and I like New Hampshire's tiny government and independent population.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being sarcastic - Being awkward - Procrastinating - Solving complex problems - Driving fast - Flying small aircraft - Arguing - Analyzing movies - Taking stuff apart - Putting stuff back together - Math and Physics - Comedic timing - Touching myself - Creating awkward silences - Not taking shirtless photos of myself in a bathroom mirror - Taking tests - Bitching about our government - Being a cider/beer snob

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
It varies, sometimes I'll just unwind with a few drinks and watch a movie, other times I'll go out with friends and try to act younger than I actually am.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I want what Jim Halpert and Pam Beasley had. Yes, even though they are fictional.

Qualities I look for in a girl:

Adorability, geekiness, intelligence, ambition, worldliness, fun, loyalty, honesty, posses a broad sense of humor, laid back, capable of driving a stick shift, et al.

Essentially I just want to find someone who can enjoy me for who I am and not what I "might be." I love to go out with my partner and enjoy what the world has to offer, but at the same time I love the nights where we can stay in and just enjoy each others company. I want someone that will go hiking/camping with me. I need to be able to have deep, philosophical, many times controversial discussions with my partner. I want to be able to cuddle up and binge watch a TV show some nights. I want someone that will nerd out with me at a comic con. I want someone that doesn't take life too seriously.

I'm not really in to trusting or reading too much into people's profiles. They give a decent summary, but in the end, people write what they write and they may or may not live up to the hype they advertised. I'd rather have some real interaction with people that have the potential to be interesting and fun in order to find out the truth of the person, sooner rather than later. So if you aren't interested in meeting up unless we message for 3 months, you should probably look elsewhere.
