My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My Facebook name WAS ThatKelly TaylorGuy until Facebook got all uppity about "real names". It's still easy to find so you can see my hilariously non-flammable or infamously inflammatory public postings there anonymously. Feel free to friend request me to see what the public can't.
I realize that I don't "read well" online. Not that I'm technologically illiterate, but that I can come across odd or off-putting. (Mmmmmmmmmmm, pudding) I mean, I AM odd & off-putting but in a good way, similar to the Gyllenhall siblings. Real life folks tend to like me so I'm okay with that. Animals & babies/small children dig me so I must be alright on the inside. My dog Tess and I are in a contest to are who loves each other more. That's not healthy for human relationships, so don't try it at home.
I am a member of KEXP's "Amplifier Club" & an occasional subscriber to Juxtapoz magazine.

I'd like to believe the promise with the catch:

"You are worth no less as a size 16 than you are a size 4. You are worth no less as a 32A than as a 36C" ~ Mary Lambert
"I can't change, even if I tried... even if I wanted to."
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.

I'm always open to meeting new people and going to dinner, a concert or whatever so that's an option. I am open to ideas from the peanut gallery. What'cha got?
I outlined my hectic work schedule in "what do you do on a typical Friday" section.
I'm a hopeless (hapless? LOL) romantic so I'd like to eventually settle back down again. I know. Weird? Nope. I just believe in the dream is all. Happiness is best shared with others, but what do I know?
I think I'm too smart to think one of the next 2-3 women I go out with will be "the one" but the only way to find out is to go out. Right? I think "an activity partner that rocks" is pretty much exactly where I'm at right now. I can never seem to find a "plus one" for the events I attend.
In "big picture honesty" I would love to find an equal (or "better") that will allow me to occasionally spoil her with affection. That's the part of it all I miss: making smiles out of nothing at all.
One of my answers in the column on the right is a lie. (updated 08/24/13) & I realized tonight that most of my photos are circa 2010 to mid-2012
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
baking. cooking. navigating. being silly. being offensive while being offended easily. being misunderstood or "taken the wrong way". getting on people's nerves AND/OR good sides. being occasionally too honest. Trying to be clever/humorous when appropriate, but mostly achieving it when it isn't...
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
my teeth. I told the dentist I wanted the whitest teeth they made... I got 'em! A friend called them "sickeningly white". Sadly, they don't make glow-in-the-dark! :^( A few months back I broke the front tooth so I now look like "the richest hillbilly on the hill".
Apparently, I have a highly recognizable voice. People will come up & say "I thought 'that sounds like KT but I haven't seen him in forever' & there you were 4 bar stools away!". Even someone my job said "I thought I heard you on a commercial the other day". It's creepy weird but also a good thing. It would be nice to get paid to use it either on the air somewhere or just reading to kids/on tape for free. I haven't volunteered for that before, but it sounds like an AWESOME idea as I type it!

I am SUPER excited about seeing & having seen all this live music over the past almost 2 years. At first, I had only seen Dead Can Dance at Marymoor in August (while here on vacation). Now, I have seen Rev Horton Heat (El Corazon), Dick Dale (Crocodile), Cloud Cult (Neptune), Bleeding Rainbow/The Cave Singers (Showbox-Marketplace), They Might Be Giants (Showbox-SoDo)Bellamaine (KEXP party) & comedians Faison Love, April Macie and Michael McDonald! I went to all 3 days of Bumbershoot where I met lots of "stars" & had a blast. SO MANY more shows since then & upcoming. New Order on my birthday was awesome. Echo & The Bunnymen, Oddball Comedy Festival in September...
I'm planning a trip to LA in October for Festival Supreme.

This covers all of the subjects here: funny stuff. dark stuff. dark-funny stuff.
FILM: Here's either a big red flag or the reason why you'll dig me. I consider the following films to be "love stories": Dog Day Afternoon (Vietnam vet robs bank to pay for lover's sex change), Bonnie & Clyde (23yr old woman gunned down for standing by her man), True Romance (I mean... COME ON! Misanthrope meets hooker with a heart of gold.), Natural Born Killers (too hard to explain here but they WERE in love). There are more but I can't recall them right away. I'm a hopeless romantic. What can I say?
I think my my fave romance of 2011/2012 was Wes Anderson's "Moonrise Kingdom"! Saw it in theaters twice. I am also a huge fan of "Happy ThankYou More Please" & heart tuggy comedies such as that.
MUSIC: WEEN is my favorite band so that should tell you a little too much.
For some reason, for a while I had been on a big Decemberists & Neutral Milk Hotel kick. I think it's Jeff Mangum's voice & Colin Meloy's voice/story telling.
The following section is my FB music cut & pasted:
Samantha Crain, Röyksopp, Peter Murphy, Emmylou Harris, Barry Kooda, Soul Coughing & solo Mike Doughty, Peter Gabriel, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Daft Punk, the old Alice in Chains

It failed to mention Otis Redding, Carla Thomas, Rufus Thomas (the crown prince of dance), Muddy Waters, Lightning Hopkins or any other Stax/Volt or Chess Records folks.
TV: Simpsons, Family Guy, Futurama, South Park, Dr Katz, King Of The Hill (are you noticing a trend), 50% of Gordon Ramsay's shows, Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm, True Blood, Breaking Bad, Jon Benjamin Has A Van...
FOOD: I'm a baker that also can cook so I prefer sweets to most things. Red meat good: vegetables bad! ;^) I am trying to change my dietary habits lately.
I don't read as much as I should. I went through a period where I actually said "I don't read books" until I realized how idiotic that made me sound. During the last week of November I did finally buy my 1st book by my star-crush Sarah Vowell. I opted for "The Partly Cloudy Patriot".
John Waters said it best: "If you go to their home & they don't have books, don't fuck them".
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Family, important to me but doesn't have to be to you. My family takes the fun OUT of dysfunction we're so messed up. That's why they are in Dallas & I am in Washington. Love them all to death though, the twisted fu@#s
2) Friends, another "must have" either due to low self-esteem or high intelligence. Not quite sure which but I love my friends!
3) Music, the soundtrack to our lives & little time markers. "We are the makers of the music & we are the dreamers of the dreams" (who said that? extra points if you know, even if you have to Google it)
4) Movies, the great escape for people too lazy to read!
5) Chocolate/Baking/Cooking/Mexican food... Need I explain?
6) trying/caring/wanting to achieve: I didn't learn/remember until recently that growing, learning & getting to be a better me is a non-stop, ever-evolving event. Life is a journey not a race to a destination.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
"the big money hustle"; how to look toward & prepare for the future while appreciating the present and not living in the past.
How the F#@K to operate Windows 8.1 (new computer. I barely used Vista properly!)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hopefully BAKING! I recently opened my own bakery (sort of). My webpage is "Kell's Kitchen, Seattle" on Facebook.
My first almost 2 years here I worked 2-3 jobs at all times, making socializing hard. Now, I'm a courier M-F 8-5 so life is much better with more time for my dog, myself & any endeavours I might care to explore.
If all goes well I will be updating this with "working at the bakery I assistant manage Thursday through Monday"! Wish me luck (please & thank you)!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am simultaneously more scared than I admit yet more self-assured than I realize. I tend to be one when I should be the other & vice-versa.
