My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
It took some time, but I kind of feel like a grown-up now.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
For the past 12 years, I've underwritten mortgage loans. It looks like that's about to change. I'm throwing myself into studying different career paths, and hope to figure out what my next adventure will be within three months, as of January 2015. For fun, I play trivia with friends and watch a ton of movies.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
being open to seeing the value in new things.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
my ability to add humor and/or relevant opinions to the discussion at hand.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I tend to like older music - Dylan, Stones, Neil Young, Pixies, Elvis Costello, and so on. As far as current stuff goes, that Alabama Shakes album is pretty perfect. Nine Inch Nails is fantastic, and has done no wrong. While I wouldn't call myself a fan, the Jay-Z concert I attended was surprising fun.

TV Shows - Archer, Game of Thrones, Silicon Valley, Walking Dead, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Real Time with Bill Maher, Doctor Who, Sherlock, and some others.

Food - I'll try anything twice. I eat Mexican food at least weekly.

Nick Hornby is cool. So is Robert Kirkman. I've read some Hemingway, Vonnegut, Hunter Thompson and all that fun stuff, and have enjoyed it, but don't find myself reading for pleasure that often. I read slowly and get distracted easily. I choose to blame that on a self-diagnosed very mild dyslexia.

That leaves movies. I could go on forever on this one, but suffice it to say that if it's a great film, regardless of where or when it was made, I'm interested. Favorite directors include Billy Wilder, Akira Kurosawa, Cameron Crowe, Quentin Tarantino, The Coen Brothers, and Francois Truffaut, but that's barely scratching the surface. Charlie Chaplin was a genius.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends, Movies, Music, Nachos, Trivia, Bacon.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Whatever is happening in front of my face, right now.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
either resting at home after a long week, or out with friends having a few beverages.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

The first music I owned consisted of two cassette tapes purchased simultaneously: Huey Lewis and the News - Fore! and Lionel Ritchie - Dancing on the Ceiling. My tastes have improved exponentially since then.
