My self-summary
A book is not enough to contain a person. However I also like books! And drawing, and ideas, not sports really though, except curling, and sometimes rugby. Curling though for sure, it's the best. Once I lived in the country, now I am in the city. Once I studied philosophy, now it's art. They tell me one day I shall have to get a real job. Adulthood is a generous concept.
What I’m doing with my life
These days, studying, working. Drawing drawing, thinking. Occasionally panicking about the future. Sometimes I read a book. Hopefully in the end this will all turn into a career as an illustrator and designer.
I’m really good at
Talking, to pretty much anyone. Conceptual illustration maybe. I think comics definitely. I'm reasonably good at teaching, much to my surprise.
The first things people usually notice about me
The beard is getting a little out of control these days. A deaf mother left me with some minor volume control issues. First things rarely seem to be the most important things though, do they? I would rather know what they notice about me after awhile...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
These lists are so impossible, I always forget so many, or change my mind a day or two later. Having said that..

books and authors: In The Skin of a Lion, Blankets, Lonesome Traveler, everything by William Gibson, Charles Williams, Hicksville, Le Combat Ordinaire, Blue Pills, A Wild Peculiar Joy, the poem from A Pale Fire,

Movies and Directors: The decline of the American Empire and The Barbarian Invasions, Jesus of Montreal. Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, Bladerunner, Wes Anderson, Most Chris Nolan, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, One Week, In the Mood For Love, Akira, Hayao Miyazaki (spelling?) Dark City, Lawrence of Arabia, My Favorite Year, C.R.A.Z.Y., CQ, Battle of Algiers,

I don't watch a lot of shows. Archer, Venture Brothers, Real Time, maybe Game of Thrones.

Music: Arcade Fire, Bruce Cockburn, Basia Bulat, Tragically Hip, John Coltrane, Mother Mother, Miles Davis, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Dave Brubek, Ratatat, XX, I'm New Here (Gil Scott-Heron) Bruce Springsteen, Black Keys, TV on the Radio, Cake, Chet Baker, Mozart, Police, Yea Yea Yeahs, The Roots, Fleet Foxes, The Decemberists, Fairport Convention, Camera Obscura, Cat Power, Ohbijou, Queens of the Stone Age, Cardigans, Dirty Projectors, Sufjan Stevens, and so on...

Food: As long as organs, sinew, foetus, and mushrooms are out, I'm probably in. Sometimes I make an exception for mushrooms.

But the stuff I really love: Curry, any way you make it, Roast Tubers, all noodles, a really good salad, Pecan Pie. You know what, favorite foods are silly, cause you are always one dish away from a new favorite.
The six things I could never do without

A warm summer afternoon, In a green place near the sea.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Art, mine in particular, but others a lot too. Anything new I have learned lately.
On a typical Friday night I am
Doing homework, the majority of time. I would however like to be either at a smaller concert, sharing a dinner with good friends, or exploring somewhere I have never been.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I think being an Artist/house-husband is pretty much where it is at
