My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Artsy type, in that I am an artist. Likes books, but doesn't read enough anymore. Studied philosophy. Likes paisley, ties, and overly formal menswear. Bicycles are the best form of personal transport. Arguing about ideas over food and drink is a favorite recreation. Prefers small gatherings to big parties. Long walks are the best route to mental health. tends to think things over too much. Moody, in the easily having big moods way. Easy laugh, easy frown. We live and strive.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Freelance illustrator, artist, classical bohemian. Closing in on title of #2 renovator of childhood home. Enthusiastic but long distance uncle. Service employee until such time.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm rather good at drawing and cooking, which I think are related activities. A desired though nebulous result; multitasking, focus, a need for improvisation and correction. Usually you end up with something edible, but sometimes its just a bad drawing, sitting there on the table getting cold.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have no idea, I would rather know what they notice about me after awhile...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
books and authors: In The Skin of a Lion, Blankets, Lonesome Traveler, everything by William Gibson, Charles Williams, Hicksville, Manu Larcente, Blue Pills by Frederick Peeters, Irving Layton, Brat Farrar,

Movies and Directors: The decline of the American Empire and The Barbarian Invasions, Jesus of Montreal. Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, Bladerunner, Wes Anderson, Most Chris Nolan, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, One Week, In the Mood For Love, Akira, Hayao Miyazaki (spelling?) Dark City, Lawrence of Arabia, My Favorite Year, C.R.A.Z.Y., CQ, Battle of Algiers,

I don't watch a lot of shows. Archer, Venture Brothers, True Detective (except the ending), maybe Game of Thrones.

Music: Arcade Fire, Bruce Cockburn, Basia Bulat, Tragically Hip, John Coltrane, Mother Mother, Miles Davis, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Dave Brubek, Ratatat, XX, Bruce Springsteen, Alt J, TV on the Radio, Cake, Chet Baker, Mozart, Police, Yea Yea Yeahs, The Roots, Fleet Foxes, The Decemberists, Fairport Convention, Camera Obscura, Cat Power, Queens of the Stone Age, Cardigans, Dirty Projectors, Sufjan Stevens, and so on...

Food: I recently started liking mushrooms, which is very exciting, a whole new world is open. I don't think I've met a cuisine I don't like yet, though I admit to being kind of chicken about stuff like duck feet. The other day I intentionally bought a zucchini and enjoyed it. What is the world coming too.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Blue mountain with snow and blue cold rough water--
A wild sky full of stars at rising
And Venus and the gibbous moon at sunrise.
Gulls following a motor boat against the wind,
Tress with branches rooted in air;
Sitting in the sun at noon
With the furiously smoking shadow of the shack chimney,
Eagles drive down wind in one,
Terns blow backward
A new kind of tobacco at eleven,
And my love returning on the four o'clock bus--
My God, why have you given this to us?

-Malcolm Lowry
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Art. What does success mean. What kind of career do I really want? What is the point of life, then really? What would make a good lunch.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Friday is about the same as any other night, if you're not on the nine to five.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not really interested in dating with an expiry time table anymore. The idea of getting emotionally involved without the possibility of it turning into something long term and serious is unappealing. I have a busy and, to me, interesting life. It's pretty great the way it is, but it would be nice to share it. It is also very hard to make friends post school when you work from home.
