My self-summary Propose an edit

I'm a pretty laid back guy who enjoys spending his time with his friends. I love going outside on camping/rafting/tubing trips during the summer which I balance with my desire not to get skin cancer at age 35 (N.B. my skin tone). I've been told I have a fairly dry sense of humor which may take a little getting used to (see previous sentence) and I'm a fan of staying on the nice side of the sarcastic line.
I also enjoy reading novels/non-fiction, The New Yorker, and the occasional sci-fi book. I'll go see almost any musical act live.

Generally people notice my red hair first (I'm fairly easy to see in a crowd, people don't lose me. honest) then my smile.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food Propose an edit

My favorite old author is Heinlein, though I do think he had some weird ideas. My favorite modern era author is Atwood. Books I like: Dune, Calvin & Hobbes, His Dark Materials, Fellow Travelers, The Kid, The Ancestor's Tale, you give me a book by Dawkins and I'll have it read by dawn, The Watchmen, The Handmaid's Tale.

Geez where to start with the music...Dylan, Springsteen, Coldplay, Kelly Clarkson, Mike Ness, R.E.M. If it has interesting lyrics, interesting music, or a combination of the two I'll give it a listen. Currently I'm listening to NPR's All Songs Considered concerts from the 9:30 club.

My movie tastes are also varied: random sci-fi flicks, Jodie Foster movies, Stardust, Step Up 2 The Streets (good mindless fun with excellent eye-candy) I tend to watch TV shows on DVD. My favorite show on TV is Battlestar Galactica. I'll give anything by Joss Whedon a watch. Burnout is my favorite PS3 game.
