My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Quiet, calm, laid-back, low-maintenance.
But also smart, sarcastic, a bit wacky.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work, I sleep, I read books, I play games* (video games, card games, board games, word games, whatever), and once in a while I'll go and explore something I haven't seen or done before.

* Don't confuse "gamer" with "player" - not *those* kinds of games.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Actually reading what things say.
For instance, a sign in a pub in London:
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I keep forgetting to ask, so if we meet make sure to tell me!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Anything, really. Mostly fiction, but I delve into most other genres too, if something interesting comes my way. Douglas Adams' "Last Chance to See" is one of my all-time favorites.
(And, according to Goodreads, I *am* the 1%. Whatever that means.

Food: Oh, glorious food! I eat and enjoy everything, although the various asian cuisines have captured my heart (indian, chinese, japanese, thai, the occasional vietnamese soup)

Movies: Utterly indifferent to the pretty graphics, and can't stand 3D. Jet Li's "Hero" was amazing. Avatar was rubbish. If it was made in the last 5 years, there are even odds that I haven't even heard about it, much less seen it.

Shows: I'll occasionally find a new show and binge on it over several days, but then abandon it in favor of something else.

Music: A little bit of practically everything, with a slight preference for electronic music and hybrid genres. Notable exceptions are country (boring), and rap (annoying).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order, and leaving off the obvious and the trite:
1) Strand bookstore (which has replaced the public library as my source for bulk cheap books)
2) The internet
3) Delicious food
4) Sleep (in plentiful quantities)
5) Smart people
6) Teleportation
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
random non-sequiturs chasing each other's tails in my head.

To quote a friend at the end of a titanic random association link thread, "your comments are like layers of filo dough made from the flour of absurdity"
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sleeping, or hitting a meetup, or hanging out with friends, or all three simultaneously.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I really, really hate phones. They combine the awkwardness of real-time communication with the awkwardness of not talking to someone face-to-face. I won't call you, except in emergencies.

Message (okc, fb, whatever), text, or meet me in real life if you want to talk.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I'm looking for a nice Jewish girl for a serious relationship, but friends (and less-serious relationships, I suppose) are accepted in all shapes and sizes.

You should message me if you found that question in the Q&A section and can explain why 36, or if you had 700 or higher on any of the English sections on the SATs (because there's definitely a zombie somewhere in my family tree - braaains!), or I sound interesting, or you're just bored, or you added explanations to most of your Q&As.

Actually, if you're a game-playing, cat- and food-loving (catfood-loving optional), intelligent, and extremely literate Sagittarius, message me right now.

For people who use the star ratings - it's only good as an anonymous high-five. I'll probably sign up for the A-list to see *who* actually likes me once the number gets large enough, but that won't be any time soon.
