My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Quiet, calm, laid-back, low-maintenance, sometimes boring.
But also smart, a bit wacky, and willing to learn.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work, I sleep, I read books, I play games* (video games, card games, board games, word games, whatever), and once in a while I'll go and explore something I haven't seen or done before.

* Don't confuse "gamer" with "player" - not *those* kinds of games.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Puzzles, games (but not *those* kinds of games), actually reading what things say. For instance, a sign in a pub in London: http://tiny.cc/ug5jbx
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I keep forgetting to ask, so if we meet make sure to tell me!

(I wear glasses most of the time, will get around to uploading a picture with them at *some* point)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Generally I like any well-written fiction, or entertaining non-fiction. Stephen King, for example, writes extremely well, although the actual meaning is often not up to par. Douglas Adams' "Last Chance to See" is one of my all-time favorites.
(And, according to Goodreads, I *am* the 1%. Whatever that means. Stuff from the last couple of years: http://tiny.cc/gd5jbx)

Food: Oh, glorious food! I eat and enjoy almost anything, although the various asian cuisines have captured my heart (indian, chinese, japanese, thai, etc)

Movies: Not so much for movies. Utterly indifferent to the pretty graphics, and despise 3D. Jet Li's "Hero" was pretty awesome. Avatar was rubbish.

Shows: I'll get random shows and watch a season or two in a single sitting once in a while, but there's nothing I watch consistently, and I don't think I've gotten around to anything made in the last 5 years.

Music: A little bit of practically everything, with a slight preference for electronic music and hybrid genres. Notable exceptions are country (boring), and rap (annoying).
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
In no particular order:
1) Strand bookstore (which has replaced the public library as my source for bulk cheap books)
2) The internet
3) Delicious food
4) Sleep (in plentiful quantities)
5) Smart people
6) Teleportation. God, the past is awful.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
random non-sequiturs chasing each other's tails in my head.

To quote a friend at the end of a titanic random association link thread, "your comments are like layers of filo dough made from the flour of absurdity"
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Sleeping, or hitting a meetup, or hanging out with friends, or all three simultaneously.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
All of the following things are true. For some value of "true".

* I had a loaded machine gun in my desk at my previous job.
* I've walked through the Sahara.
* I've single-handedly lifted and moved a Rolls-Royce.

On a slightly more serious note, I am an extremely tall hobbit.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I'm looking for a nice Jewish girl for a relationship, but friends are accepted in all shapes and sizes.

You should message me if I sound interesting, or you're just bored, or you found that question in the Q&A section and can explain why 36, or if you had 700 or higher on any of the English sections on the SATs (because there's definitely a zombie somewhere in my family tree. Braaains.)

Actually, if you're a game-playing, cat- and food-loving (catfood-loving optional), and extremely literate Sagittarius, message me regardless, chances of us hitting it off are extremely high. But if you're none of those things, that's ok too :)

For people who use the star ratings - it's only good as an anonymous high-five. I'll probably sign up for the A-list to see *who* actually likes me once the number gets large enough, but that won't be any time soon.
