My self-summary
Laid back. Slow to anger, quick to laugh. Life's too short to waste time being stressed or upset about the small things - and there are a lot of small things in life.
What I’m doing with my life
By day, I work for the State. Department of Labor, to be exact.
By night, I am a nerd. Gaming, anime, RPGs, and so on.
By weekend, I am a writer with two urban/contemporary fantasy books in print. Self-published, nothing crazy, but getting my writing out in the wild was something on the bucket list!

I've been busy bringing life to my new house - I might turn into a furniture collector. I'm also working on a collection of tools so I can start experimenting with woodworking/carpentry. And I just adopted (or was adopted by) a pair of kittens. Nothing like waking up in the morning with a kitten staring you in the eyes from inches away.
I’m really good at
I remember a lot of the little things. I think I'm more empathetic than most people, and I can read people pretty well, except when it's directed at me, in which case I range from oblivious to REALLY oblivious.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm short with long hair. If that doesn't stand out, what does?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Dresden Files, Malazan Tale of the Fallen, LOTR, Mistborn, Farseer Trilogy, Honor Harrington, so on and so forth. I'm a big fan of fantasy and sci-fi, though I do enjoy historical fiction every once in a while.

Movies: Shawshank Redemption, Monty Python & The Holy Grail, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon...not a big movie watcher, really.

Shows (and anime): Firefly, Babylon 5, Cowboy Bebop, Full Metal Alchemist, Higurashi, anything that comes from Key. I have a certain weakness for cutesy anime, too. My friends say I have no filter. It might be true.

Music: Some favorites are 30 Seconds To Mars, Rise Against, Incubus, and Within Temptation. My current Pandora station is seeded off of Nightwish, so I'm getting my fill of Scandinavian metal.

Food: I'm open to trying most things, but I don't like pasta and I hate spinach. I'm also not too much into spicy food.
The six things I could never do without
1. Internet access of some sort
2. Entertainment (this can take oh so many forms)
3. Space
4. People (this can also fall under #2)
5. All right I really would go nuts without a computer
6. Warmth. I hate the cold.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Thinking of new stories, mostly. You have to stretch that creative habit. Also been considering furnishing ideas for the house. I want to try my hand at some carpentry...

I also wonder why so many people say so little on here. Sure, you like to hang out with your friends, so does everyone else who has a friend out there. What do you and your friends do for fun? Watch terrible movies? Play cards? Tip cows? Details, people, details!
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually at home on Fridays. Saturday nights are when I go out. That is, go out to play RPGs or board games or other nerdy pursuits with my friends. Pathfinder campaign? Oh yeah. Arkham Horror or Mansions of Madness sessions? Yup.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm confused over whether to be honest or coy with this. Either way, it seems fake.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 25–35
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You're interested in (or at least fondly tolerant of) nerdy things. You're less quiet than I am - I'm looking for someone who is more outgoing and active, but not drastically so. I'm not really setting the bar high here!

If I visited your profile but didn't message you, it doesn't mean I'm uninterested, I'm just a bit on the shy side and it takes a bit for me to work myself up to sending you a message.

I'm not an outdoorsy type, but I think it'd be good for me. You might be the one to convince me of that.
