I'm a traveler by nature. I'm afflicted with wanderlust pretty badly and I want to see everything the world has to offer. I'm a historian by trade and training and I'm almost finished with my Master's program at Valdosta State University. I'll have my MA in eastern European history with a heavy emphasis on Russia. As a side note, I'm also VSU's first Russianist, so go me!

I'm currently working on my MA at VSU. When that is completed, hopefully I can go to Duke University and get into their Soviet History PhD program. Right now I'm just making the slog through the workload and trying to have a good time.

I'm really good at learning languages. I know 6 languages at the moment, and I hope to learn more as time goes by. I'm good at intuiting what someone is feeling; I am very attuned to the people I surround myself with. I'm good at listening, and talking problems through with someone who just needs to vent. I'm good at being reliable; I'm always there for a friend who just needs someone to talk to, hang out with, drink with, or vent their problems.

People tend to notice that I'm very charismatic and outgoing, and I'm always the guy at the party that has the funny stories. People notice my eyes and tan as well.

Book: anything written by Harry Turtledove, as his work is alternate history and it's very fascinating for me. I also like to read anything about military or Soviet history, and books in foreign languages. I like science fiction as well as fantasy (sometimes, classic fantasy from the 70s is about it).

Movie: The Big Lebowski, Serenity, The Warriors, Citizen Kane, The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard, Sex Drive, the Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Lincoln...I like a lot of movies. If I haven't seen it, there's a good chance I'll like it, so bring it on.

TV: I LOVE Entourage. I'm a binge watcher. I find a series I like and just plow right through it. In the past few months, I've finished all of Scrubs, Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, House of Cards, Doctor Who (Classic and New), Game of Thrones, Castle, Firefly, Family Guy, The Boondocks, Venture Bros...I'm not a big fan of cartoons but I do love the stuff I grew up with in the 90s.

Music: I love all kinds of techno and other electronic music but my favorite artist is Scooter, but Skrillex and Basshunter are good too. I'm a major fan of The Doors - Jim Morrison is one of my favorite singers. I also like the Grateful Dead, some folk music, Great Big Sea, The Flying Machines, 5ivesta Family, Stromae, Dan Balan, Pete Townsend, The Police, The Allman Brothers, The Ramones

My language skills, my phone, my friends, the ability to travel, Caribou Lou, and the ability to just have a good time.

I think a lot about where I'm going to travel to next, and when I'm not thinking about that I'm usually thinking about the next time I can go out, maybe finding a nice girl that shares my interests, and the state of gender-sexuality equality (seriously) in our society.

My typical Fridays usually end up at a party somewhere, or maybe out driving around in my car. In Russia, Friday nights always meant going out to the clubs, so I'm looking forward to continuing that tradition here at home.

I'm a very impulsive person who doesn't really think things out before I do them.
