I am geeky, efficient, and literary.

My Self-Summary

I consider myself primarily a bibliophile and a gamer. If I'm not at work, sleeping, eating, or experiencing the pleasure of good company in one form or another, I will be either reading or gaming (video, board, table top, card, whatever!). I read primarily fantasy and science fiction (if you want to debate the validity of those as literature, I'll happily take it up). I also love good food, good friends, and good times.

I am a bit of a writer and dabble in investment. To bring home the cat food, I work in administration at one of those local game companies. I studied English at the University Near Mom, land of the free tuition. I minored in Psychology and took a smattering of everything. And, now that I have a degree in English, I am card carrying useless, rather than just vaguely useless as I used to be.

I'm more of one for a quiet, intimate conversation than a happening spot where a lot is going on. An evening at a coffee shop or with a nice dinner would never be a suggestion taken amiss.

Please note: I do NOT IM. If you want to talk to me, it's going to be through email or in person.

What I’m doing with my life

I moved to Seattle as of April 1st, 2007. So, while relatively new to the area, I do know a bit of my way around and about by now.

I'm loosely attached to sytlessoarcleX, my best friend and roommate.

I'm a writer, primarily science fiction and fantasy, though I dabble in all fields, and recently in gaming adventures (actually paid for those ones! Yay!). I plan to eventually continue my studies, but I'm no longer sure when. I've become comfortable with my life...and I'm not sure that's a good thing.

Currently...I work enough to keep the cats fed and don't write or draw enough. Though I do get a good bit of reading and gaming done.

I really adore my current job. It has to do with both books and games, so...

I’m really good at

Whatever I put my mind to? =)

Well, writing, I think. Reading (a highly neglected skill in most people, I find. Being literate is not the same as being literary). Using computers. Rolling 20's (unless it's an initiative roll. Then it's more likely to be 2's. Cursed, I tell you!).

Brewing fine tea! (There is a tea master at my work from whom I am learning and acquiring a taste for real, fine tea.)

The first things people usually notice about me

The color of my hair. /nod What will it be this week?!

Old response (as I think it's still telling): Like many people who answer this question, I will direct you to my acquaintances. They would be able to answer it more accurately than can I. I like to think that people notice my eyes, but that's more a reflection of me and what I notice in people than anything. Though what I notice first in people is facial structure.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

A) Anything by Robert Heinlein. Most anything by: George RR Martin, Walter Jon Williams, Dan Simmons, Kage Baker, Holly Lisle. Specific titles not included in the above authors: Ender's Game, Card; Dune, Herbert; The Harry Dresden series, Butcher; etc. I poked my bookshelf and came up with lots more, but that's a good selection.

B) Shawshank Redemption, American Beauty, A Beautiful Mind, What Dreams May Come. I really like movies that both make a point and have a sad ending.

C) SR-71, 3 Doors Down, Lifehouse, anything by the Russsian composers in which the violins do that really cool and sad weeping effect...I like a lot of music. Recently, I've been allowing Pandora to bring me new sounds.

D) The edible kind? :) Sushi, definitely sushi. Really, I eat just about anything. But left to my own devices and kitchen, I'll usually default to chicken.

The six things I could never do without

Mmm...chocolate. It's a food group, you know.

Sushi. At least on occasion. It's a food group as well.

Reading. I love to be surrounded by books and usually have one in my hands.

A d20.

One of my computers.

A means of communication.

Now, realize that none of the above are true, as I have gone without each of them for considerable lengths of time, and all of them at once for at least a short while. These are just the comforts in my life that I really enjoy and find make it more bearable. There's nothing you can really never do without, as long as you're breathing and the bowels move regularly, right?

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Stories, philosophical implications of events, solipsism, sex and sexuality, what I'm doing with my life, where I'm going. What I'm going to read next (well, not really. I usually just take then next thing on the shelf that I haven't read yet).

On a typical Friday night I am

What's so special about Friday? The week is just an arbitrary division of time. I know all the reasons that the weekend exists, why the unions created it and enforced it...but I see absolutely no reason why there should be specific days on which everybody (or so it seems) is scheduled off. Can't we break it up a little? I would like to go to Place X on Saturday or Sunday and be able to conduct business sometime. (Naw, this doesn't touch on a nerve of mine. Why do you ask?)

However, to more thoroughly answer the question...depends on who has called me to tell me what I'm doing. My default mode is at home, doing something online or reading.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I bite. ;)

Also, the first thing I look at in your profile is your taste in books.

Third...my dream relationship is a stable bisexual triad.

You should message me if

You have found any of the above interesting or entertaining. *nod*
