George Carlin once said "Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist". I certainly am a cynic sometimes, but if you look closely the idealist shines through. I also agree and identify with many many other things he said.
I've never been very good at describing myself... I always feel like I'm being put on the spot and my mind empties and I draw a blank, so please feel free to ask me lots of questions.
What I’m doing with my life
Working as a maintenance tech for an international industrial
laundry company to pay the bills. Desperately looking for a way
into the beer brewing industry, and brewing beer on the side. I
also enjoy attending brew fests, and experiencing the amazing
natural wonders that are just outside of town, with my dog, when I
can. And seeing all my favorite bands live.
I’m really good at
Fixing things and understanding how they work, it's what I do for
work. I also like to take pictures and sculpt, some might say I'm
pretty good at it. I am also getting pretty good at making bran
muffins and grilling various meats. Oh yeah, and back rubs. While
I'm still pretty new to the world of home brewing, I'd really like
to write brewing beer here too.
The first things people usually notice about me
The tattoos covering my arms. Then maybe my stylish glasses or my
fancy beard. Or maybe just my rugged lumberjack lack of style.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I do love to read, I recently finished the latest installment to
The Wheel of Time. I can't wait for the next book in a song of fire
and ice. It is amazing! Right now I'm deep into The Malazan book of
the Fallen. I also like other fiction, not just fantasy. I really
like Chuck Palahniuk and other similar authors. Invisible Monsters
is my favorite book by him. I also really liked Shogun. History
also holds a soft spot in my heart. I did go to school for history,
I always say Fight Club is my favorite movie, and it is, but I like
all sorts of others as well. One of the better movies I've seen
recently is Inception. I'm also a fan of zombie movies.
About the only television shows I try to watch these days are
Archer and recently the walking dead, but then I like cartoons and
comedy too. People are funny. Most of the time TV is just
background noise to whatever I'm doing, so I like to set the dial
to something intellectually stimulating.
I feel that music is the greatest creative endeavor humans have
ever applied themselves to. There is something for everyone. I tend
towards modern and classical rock. I also like alternative music,
but most things with a beat are worth listening to at least once.
If you want to know the specifics, you'll have to ask.
I do love food, who doesn't? I love Bratwurst, and bacon, they're
my favorite. I'll try almost anything and i have a proclivity
towards breakfast foods. Typically i eat pretty healthy. It's not
always about the taste, and even though bacon and bratwurst are my
favorite, I really don't eat much meat.
The six things I could never do without
The drive to understand this brilliantly intricate existence we
call life, and a means to express myself.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How this crazy existence all fits and harmoniously works together.
Understanding my place in the world. Whatever I'm reading at the
moment. Simulating conversations, situations that will never
happen, beer, sex, or tattoos.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hopefully I'm Relaxing from the week by enjoying a delicious craft
beer, either at home or out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not as kinky as this site claims.
You should message me if
You'd like to actually brew some beer with me. I feel it's always
better brewing with someone else. Or any other reason you could
possibly come up with. I don't bite, right away, and I wouldn't be
on here if I didn't want to meet people.
