My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a transplant from upstate New York who came to Baltimore chasing the dream job. I've been here a while and I do like the place but a good confidante remains hard to find. I am sure we can fix that.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
"If you're not getting happier as you get older - then you're fucking up." - Ani DiFranco

I'm a designer at a game studio! Living the dream. Though the 'dream' to me is less 'playing games' and more 'analyzing, critiquing, and improving a game.' And Excel... lots more time with Excel than you might imagine.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Analysis, discussion, and tinkering. I love nothing more than to talk over a problem or an idea with a peer or a friend and then try to apply it. I'm very glad to have work that plays to those strengths.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
At this point, definitely the beard. I've reached the event horizon where some people aren't sure if I've just ALWAYS had it or I grew it out after I met them. I'm trying to foster an image of having sprung into existence already equipped.

Bonus rounds:
If I'm at work, probably that my glasses are resting on my forehead. Then that I have headphone hair. You would probably imagine I am not very pleased with whatever I am testing.

If I'm in public, probably that I'm the man you can pretty much guarantee will engage you in awkward pathfinding chicken. You know: where both of you are trying to defer to each other at the same time. Spoiler: everyone loses.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
A selection of my favorite books include: House of Leaves, Small Gods, Choke, Watchmen, East of Eden, Walden, and Ishmael.

My three favorite movies are The Matrix, Groundhog Day, and Brazil.

Music: I listen to artists such as... Bright Eyes, Neko Case, The Polyphonic Spree, Barenaked Ladies, Ani Difranco, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, David Bowie, The Beatles, Pearl Jam, The Flaming Lips, Beck, Sublime, The Black Keys, The Decemberists, MGMT, Death Cab for Cutie, The Felice Brothers, Anais Mitchell, Neko Case

Gaming: RPGs are my bread and butter. Baldur's Gate Trilogy, Deus Ex, Fallout Series, Team Fortress 2. I used to play World of Warcraft, and I have tried many MMOs but I currently play the Elder Scrolls Online. League of Legends Endless Space and Civ V.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My glasses. I try to act aloof and give them the impression that I don't need them, but I can't really make out much more than 4 feet away without them.

Games. I enjoy solving problems and games offer plenty of them.

Some good fiction, in any format, to give me something to reflect on.

Good beer.

Eardrums for music.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
"I don't want to be human!"
(Battlestar Galatica Spoilers. You've been warned):

When "favorite game" will become an official part of a dating profile.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Every other week I play a DnD game run by my brother, who is recording it and trying to turn it into a podcast. On the off weeks, reading or playing a game. My Steam backlog is terrifying.
