I am in love with this world. I am an out of the closest nerd and I can get a bit gushy when discussing those (innumerous) things which I find beautiful. I really enjoy pondering over how I fit into the big picture. Whether it is considering the long dead stars that created the atoms in my body, or evaluating how my behaviors and preferences are influenced by evolution or social constructs. There is very little that I enjoy more than deep conversations, and love to meet people who share that feeling.

Working to get my professional engineer's license.

The Book of Mormon play was probably the greatest thing I have ever seen. The celebration of humanity juxtaposed with the ridicule of religion was perfect and beautiful. The atheist's version of hate the sin and love the sinner.

2001 A space Odyssey is a spiritual experience for me. Mankind's continued evolution is a concept in fiction that I am really drawn towards. Blade Runner, The Seventh Seal, The Big Lebowski, 12 Monkeys, Team America

Shows:
The Cosmos series by Carl Sagan can make me tear up, Star Trek, Battlestar Gallatica, The Simpsons, South Park

Music:
I typically listen to heavy and progressive metal, but I am open to anything

If I were to list those modern conveniences that I really enjoy, it would be an insult to the great mass of humanity that exists without such luxuries. If I were to list those biological necessities required to sustain life, it would be an insult to the reader. So I will just say that a life without love, friendship, freedom, and curious investigation of the universe is a life not worth living.

The future. How I can improve. How society can improve. How humanity can improve. I like to think about the ultimate mysteries of the universe and just how inadequate the human brain is to grasp these questions.
