My self-summary
About me- passionate, old fashioned, easily exciteable, stubborn, genuine, easy going, love to cook, travel...the list goes on! I love the industry I'm in, but I also value the importance of play/family time as well, and have recently learned in the last few years that you should never sacrifice that for a job. I make frequent trips to Canada and Portland because they are two of my favorite places! I play just about every musical instrument you can think of (drums for 20+ years, piano for the same amount of time... learning guitar as we speak!). I love to travel as friend and I took a road trip across the USA a few years back- best trip to this day!

I want to find someone that I can share in experiences and do fun activities with- playing music, exploring the city, happy hours, road trips, travelling, outlet know, the random stuff that makes life worth living? Life is always best shared with someone you love.
What I’m doing with my life
Changing the world in my own little way. I've been doing culinary arts and cooking for almost 17 years now, and of those years I've been an executive chef for about 8.
I’m really good at
Cooking, running red lights and doing u-turns when I visit Canada, brewing all sorts of tea, scrabble, playing drums, and getting up early enough on a Sunday to go to brunch
The first things people usually notice about me
The grey in my hair that is suddenly appearing everywhere. And now with a beard, it's showing up there... Maybe it's distinguishing??

Also that I probably ask a lot of questions when I meet new people. And that I'm old school romantic- I like to hold hands, pick up a date and buy them flowers, etc.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books- I admit, I don't read enough. Unless its cookbooks or Internet news (does that count?). Man, yahoo news has me hooked half the time. Reading people's comments on the news stories are the best. It doesn't matter if its about congress or the kardashians, those comments always come back to "Obama is a terrorist" or some crazy crap like that.

Food- Ha! I cook for a living so there isn't much I won't eat. I enjoy Mexican, Thai, and breakfasty foods the most when I eat out. Just waiting for the day I start getting food allergies. That would just be cruel fate.

Music- As cliche as this is, I really do like all music, so long as it's GOOD! (Yes, even country, don't hate). Some music off the top of my head include Paramore, Rush, maktub, Luke Bryan, NIN, Rolling Stones, know, the usual. It's a pretty broad spectrum. Lately it seems my inner country boy has been coming out, especially when I'm at the gym.

Movies- I feel like I haven't seen a movie in years... I know I have! I guess none jus pop out to me right now.

TV shows- whatever happens to be on Netflix or whatever, lately I've been watching walking dead, breaking bad, himym, and some new ones like sleepy hollow and hemlock grove... and I can't go to bed without my daily show and Colbert! I have a guilty pleasure for bobs burgers.
The six things I could never do without
I guess these are things I wouldn't want to do without in my life, besides the obvious family/friends/oxygen/etx:

1. Brunch
2. Costco membership
3. Tea
4. Travel
5. Musical abilities
6. Sarcasm
I spend a lot of time thinking about
-If this online dating thing ACTUALLY works. I've had some....strange encounters, to say the least.
-How many hours of sleep I can get before I have to wake up for work
-How to live with less
-Personal development
-Recipes (and how to cook said recipes)
-Traveling, and where I'd want to live next!
On a typical Friday night I am
I've just taken a new chef job that allows for a normal schedule, so I'm going to have to learn how to have a normal Friday night since I haven't had one like that in SOOOOOO long! Maybe you can help?

Here's a hint though, I like to go to shows, dives or just anywhere where there is good food and friendy people. Love wine bars and am definitely not opposed to the movie or game nights in and bundled up with someone special :) (though I can get super competitive, so watch out!!). I'm at that age where I don't have to party every weekend, and I'm definitely okay with that!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well... I used to be a VERY fat guy (300lb+). Trust me, I can provide pictures! But I lost most of the weight. And to be completely honest, I'm glad I was overweight most of my life because I think it's made me much less superficial and more thankful than a lot of people, because as a previous large person, it's hard to see how 'normal sized' people viewed us (and still do).

Oh, and like 90% of guys and girls on here would have you believe about themselves, I am not vertically scaling to the top of Mt Rainier or anything like that, or looking to do so anytime soon. Yes, hiking is fun, but I'm not that guy.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 26–37
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
you are the type of person that values a good hearted, passionate, driven and caring individual. I want to find someone that has similar interests and goals in life. The end result will always be to find that special person, but until it happens I'm not in a rush to get there, so no pressure! I hope you have passion in life and are always looking to make you and your partner grow as individuals before a couple.

And if we meet, I'll even cook for you! How about that?!?
