I am fun, creative, and caring.

My Self-Summary

I'm not a big fan of tooting my own horn like what is required for this kind of thing, but I'll do my 'best.' I'd rather you look at the fun tests I've taken on here, and let those give you a good picture. :)

that said...

I'm at a great point in my personal life and career and looking for somebody to enjoy life with. I'm easy to get along with and enjoy talking about both casual and deep topics. I like to joke around and laugh quite a bit with good friends, though when I first meet people I can be reserved. I never make enemies, and really love putting a smile on a person's face. If you are looking for Mr. Macho with his shirt off in his profile... move along.

I'm romantic, a great listener, love kids, love to be fun and goofy or just relax. I'm told I'm that ideal "warm, cute, nice guy." I also need to geek out quite a bit with the guys, and need my veg time.

For fun I enjoy a variety of activities and especially like to try new things and start new adventures. I've been known to hike, backpack, ski, travel, sky-dive, scuba, and ride horses. I also enjoy watching movies/TV, gaming, reading and basket weaving.

I'd love to meet somebody who is looking to share in life's adventures (wow, is THAT cliche!) I am young at heart (My FB "Real Age" quiz says 29, HA!), playful and romantic and looking for the same. My personality type is INFP. I'd like to spend more time traveling and eating out, or just exploring the area. My match needs to be somebody who is open to new ideas and has an optimistic view of life and others. They must have the personality that believes everything is worth trying once. I need somebody who isn't afraid to just be goofy from time to time and willing to pretend to laugh at all my lame jokes and sarcasm.

What I’m doing with my life

I have the dream job that I love. I taught 6th grade for many years, now I work in the media center. Basically I manage two school libraries and teach technology and information literacy. My job is very flexible and very... varied. There is always something new and interesting.

Even so, I still consider my career just a small part of my life. The rest is consumed with living life.

I’m really good at

Working with people and making them feel at ease. It has become such a habit for me to put myself in others' shoes, that I really end up doing it without thinking. This can actually become a problem, sometimes, because I have to keep my mouth shut when a friend or co-worker complain about a person or situation, because I end up also thinking about the 'other side' of the argument. I need to keep the trap shut, because usually the friend just needs to vent.

I seem to project a very passive and unconcerned front to the world. Behind the calm, practiced and chiseled exterior is an ocean of empathy, concern and depth.

The first things people usually notice about me

They always seem to say, "My gosh, that is the most handsome man I've ever seen in my life. I can't believe he is still single. Holy Cow somebody is in for the catch of their life. Snatch him up all you lucky ladies out there!"

or something like that. I'm pretty sure. At least I 'think' that is what they are saying?

Ok, this is an area of the Johari Window that I have no clue about, so I asked my friends. I take no responsibility for their answers...

"talent for making people feel at ease in your company,"
"very together and grounded,"
"funny,"
"quiet in unfamiliar groups, funny in groups you do know... laughs easily in circle of friends."

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Twilight, The Host, Eclipse, Maximum Ride, Ender's Game, Unwind, Warrior Heir, and The City of Ember to name a few. With my degree finished, I'm making more time to read.

Though I love reading and was a voracious reader in college. My favorite books and movies are ones where the author has created a delicious, intriguing and engrossing universe that I can simply "lose myself" within. Examples would be McCaffrey's Pern novels, Tolkien's Middle Earth, Rice's Vampire Chronicles or Zelazny's world of Amber. Fleshed out characters are a must and dry plot-driven dramas bore me.

Some of my favorite show include Criminal Minds, Dexter, The Office, Heroes, Friday Night Lights, Grey's (shh), Nip/Tuck, Family Guy, Big Bang Theory, True Blood and . Shows I dearly dearly miss: Star Trek TNG, Rome, West Wing, Seinfeld, Mash, Sopranos and Firefly.

Music: Pretty eclectic, however I've mellowed since high school. Classic Rock is still my favorite genre, but anything other than country and opera is usually good.

Food.. mmm. Steak, crab legs, Warsteiner, Shiraz, but I'll eat just about anything.

The six things I could never do without

Family
Friends
Love
Peace
Freedom
Pan Galactic Gargle Blasters.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Quantum-physics.

no, really!

ok, not really. But my mind is always quite active thinking about everything. Being an introvert, most of my thoughts and feelings are kept to myself. Some people may be surprised when I say something with absolute certainty on a subject that I've been very quiet about, and they think, "jeesh, he seems so sure. Maybe he should give that some thought first." Trust me, if it comes out of my mouth, I've probably spent hours, weeks and months already thinking about it. ;)

On a typical Friday night I am

Ok, Friday nights are usually boring for me. Chilling in front of the TV/computer trying to recover from the long week. I do one or two shows in community theatre every year, so a couple months a year I spend my Friday and Saturday nights doing a show then going out after with the cast (the real reason I do the shows, the fun!)

In general, I'd really like to start traveling more with my summers off. I enjoy getting together with the guys to game. Love movies, camping, hiking, dining, quiet nights at home and space travel.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm really an undercover CIA agent

Shh.

Don't tell anyone.

You should message me if

It is possible I am an alien sent down from Mars, so if you are from Venus we just might get along.

Well, as the test describes me, I'm labeled as "The Boy Next Door," and as the description says, "On paper, most girls would name the Boy Next Door as their ideal mate. In the real world, however, you’re often passed over for more dangerous or masculine men. You’re the typical “nice guy”

Story of my life. I knew this coming out of high school and predicted that because of my shyness, I'd most likely marry a wonderful woman, possibly with children, as her second marriage. Don't take this wrong, but most women are attracted to the Macho egomaniac, not realizing until after their first child that... this isn't the kind of guy that really knows how to make a relationship work, and not the kind of guy I want rasing my children.

Well, if you agree with any of that, message away ladies, I'm the one!
