My self-summary
New arrival to Brighton. I'm originally from Fitchburg, MA. It's okay, no one should ever have to go there.

I'm really interested in meeting new people in the Boston area. Whether it's someone special or just someone to go out and do things with. I'm down for most anything! Been getting back into running and love the outdoors. Beer tastes a little too good and I generally wish I were on a mountain.

Don't be afraid to give me a shout! Adventure groups, running clubs, bowling teams, book clubs, poker, a night out for drinkie-poos =)

Personal Goals for 2014: Sailing Lessons, SCUBA certification, Job within Biology field, train for the Josh Billings Triathlon!
What I’m doing with my life
Hiking whenever I can. Maximizing fun times while minimizing work times, life is too short.
I’m really good at
HIKING! Have I mentioned this enough?
Decent at games (of the board and video variety)
Eating food, drinking drinks
The first things people usually notice about me
The beard. My sister tells one of the kids at the residential home that if I shave, it would be the sign on the apocalypse.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I'm not going to pretend to be a book worm. I do enjoy me some Stephen King though. Random stuff here and there, noir detective novels, Ender's Game, Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance.

Movies: Silly comedies, Artsy Fartsy films that only play at smaller theaters, Old Classics, Disney!, really depraved movies of the 70s and 80s are a guilty pleasure.

Shows: Twilight Zone, Bob's Burgers, Archer, Colbert/Stewart, Kids in the Hall, Ren and Stimpy, CHECK IT OUT WITH Dr. STEVE BRULE! aaand I'm also on seasons one of Game of Thrones =)

Music! Metal, Jazz and fusions of both! Rock that happened in the 90s, a small amount of that indie stuff, and EDM passively. I also listen to NPR and audiobooks (for the longer rides)

Don't make me defend my musical preference! Okay, fine! So, most folks hear metal and think to themselves "That's so angry, why is he/she yelling AT ME? It's all negative, evil, loud, and people who listen to it don't bathe." I'm soooo judgemental when it comes to what I listen to. I try to find the music that speaks to me, it just so happens that metal is the frontrunner. It's full of energy, intricate timing signatures, syncopation, polyrhythms, motifs, movements, grooves, solos, IT HAS EVERYTHING! Don't HEAR music, LISTEN to music. I die inside when people beebop around to top 20s all day, don't they understand that there is a whole wealth of music out there just waiting to be discovered (and I'm not only talking about metal)? Don't listen to music because everyone (the masses/radio/labels trying to make money) tells you it is good, find music that you enjoy!

Case in point, I think music can be very personal and often feel nervous/embarrassed when I share songs that I truly enjoy.

Bands I listen to on the reg: Prototype, Intronaut, Gojira, The Contortionist, Between the Buried and Me, Beyond Creation, Textures, etc.

Food: Mostly everything except olives and super spicy food. I love ethnic food. Mexican, Thai, Indian, Vietnamese, Italian, all amazing.

Special mention: I'm a beer snob. Yes, I love me a good craft brew, usually an IPA. Favorite brewers include Lagunitas, Southern Tier, Victory and Magic Hat. I'm always trying something new when I go out or hit the store.

On a typical Friday night I am
What a bad question. Working until 4pm and then taking advantage of any fun opportunities.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a bit of a nerd, play the occasional video game, upgrade my computer components... no big deal.

I care 0% about watching sports.

Bonus! I have a really soft spot for the Tune Yards they make my man-ovaries siiiing!
