Generous – I will always find time for others, especially the people in my life that I care about. I think that generally I’m a kind and thoughtful person.
Honest – I tend to be a bit of an agony uncle for some of my friends as they know that I will always give them my honest opinion. While I think that this is a good quality to have, I have also found that sometimes being diplomatic can be useful!
Intelligent – as well as being quite well-educated I have a natural curiosity about the world around me. I enjoy learning about new things and seem to have an ability to retain random snippets of information. As I have lived in France for nearly seven years of my life (for 3 of my teenage years and for almost 4 years until fairly recently) I can speak French fluently. I am interested in learning more languages and am fascinated about other cultures.
Adventurous – I will try most things once and I am always interested in new experiences. I once travelled around Australia by myself for a year, which included living in a rainforest next to the Great Barrier Reef for 3 months.
Sarcastic – I have a dry, sarcastic sense of humour however I will quite often turn to a spot of self-deprecation for balance! I would describe myself as an optimist with a healthy dose of cynicism thrown in. I know when to take things seriously but I think that not taking yourself too seriously and seeing the funny side of life are important.
I love a good quote so in summary I have this for you from Robert Louis Stevenson – “We are all travellers in the wilderness of this world, and the best we can find in our travels is an honest friend.”
I would like to think that I am that honest friend but I guess that would be for others to decide...
