My self-summary
I love knowledge and learning and can thus often be found reading strange Wikipedia articles at four in the morning.

Aside from philosophy (the subject of my degree), I'm really interested in 20th century history, particularly anything to do with communism, the cold war and so forth. Consequently, my friends know rather more about all of that than they'd like.

I'm an empathetic and relaxed sort of person who bears the twin crosses of being a lazy perfectionist and an idealistic cynic. I'd like to think I don't fall into the trap of taking life or myself too seriously, though.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently studying philosophy at the University of Manchester and greatly enjoying it. I don't think I'll be getting tired of student living any time soon.

I'm considering doing a master's degree (MRes) in philosophy after I graduate, but there's quite a while to go before I have to make a decision on that.

I'm also an aspiring writer, though what tends to happen is that I write something, like it, reread it, hate it, get disenchanted, stop for a while and then start again.

What I really want to be is a professional dilettante and wastrel.
I’m really good at
Thinking of literary or cinematic quotations that fit the situation I'm in (often from Star Wars, now I think about it), boring people by bringing up history and/or the Soviet Union, demonstrating my needlessly large vocabulary, intuitively understanding people and things.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have been told (to my surprise) that my "wide eyes" are my most noticeable feature. That's not bad, I suppose.

On a typical Friday night I am
There isn't really any such thing as a typical Friday night. I can't stand nightclubs, so I try not to end up in those wherever possible, but pubs and bars are fine, as is anywhere where it's possible to have a conversation while drinking. Conversations over drink with the right company are one of life's finest pleasures.

An evening in playing videogames, wasting time online or similar is also good. Some of the nicest Friday nights I've ever had have consisted simply of me sitting around and talking with my friends for hours (without or without copious amounts of rum).
