My self-summary

Back in Mumbai for the foreseeable future!

I'm an optimist, a dreamer, an old school romantic, an idealist, a globe trotter, tea-lover, a foodie, usually zen and most of the time a geek. I'm a full time sapiosexual and a part-time poet (when the mood or the emotion strikes me). You could say I'm part Clark Kent (I strive to be as much of a gentleman), part Kung Fu Panda (yes I'm big and cuddly), part Leonard Hofstadter (I am a bit of a geek), part Noah Calhoun (I'm definitely a romantic). The dreamer and idealist in me wants to save the world in some way even if it means helping anyone in the smallest way because I think the world could use a lot more kindness.

The interesting irony is that the romantic in me isn't a fan of meeting someone in a bar, but at the same time, my wandering and quest for a similar wavelength means that it's often incredibly hard to meet compatible people. Online dating is one compromise I'm willing to make and I'm hoping I have better luck here.

What I’m doing with my life

I am a user experience designer. To explain it in simple terms - I design and make software and mobile apps better, easier and more enjoyable to use (thus giving a good user experience).

I love that my job lets me travel plenty. The past year has seen trips to Istanbul, London, Sri Lanka, New York, San Francisco, Washington DC and Texas and I'm looking forward to plenty more to come.

I’m really good at

- Remembering random trivia - like how Russia has a larger area than Pluto.

- Languages - I can spend a few days in a place talking to someone there and I can sound like them when I use the local language. Had the privilege of being able to do this in Italy and Germany in particular.

- Long conversations and storytelling - feels silly including this here but I love to talk (as the length of this profile might attest) and have been told I have a flair for sharing the stories of my adventures from around the world.s.

The first things people usually notice about me

The fact that I'm laughing or smiling and that when I do smile, my whole face smiles.

The twinkle in my eyes like I'm upto something mischievous.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

It is interesting how this box says "I'm an empty essay, fill me out" because if I did try, this would take forever. To put it simply, I pretty much love a variety of all of the above and I could probably list 100 of each if given the chance. So I'll try and describe this with random picks from my favourites of each.

Books - The Alchemist, Lord of the Rings, Only Love is Real, Cloud Atlas, The Name of the Rose, Dune

Movies - Cloud Atlas, The Great Gatsby, The Man from Earth, The Matrix, Kung Fu Panda (well obviously!), Dead Poet's Society, anything Disney

Shows - Lost, Heroes, Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, Mentalist

Music - Ludovico Einaudi, Queen, Iron Maiden, Skrillex, Michael Buble

I'll also add a category of Things that should have their own category here - Tea, Cheese, Travel Destinations, Musicals, Comics, Video Games

The six things I could never do without

1. My friends and family (spread out around the world)
2. My phone (it allows me to communicate with 1.)
3. My optimism (keeps me going in life)
4. Memories and the constant desire to create new ones (keeps life interesting)
5. Intelligence
6. Kindness and Humanity (the world needs so much more of both)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Life, Arsenal, design, gadgets, world issues, love, sex, travelling, books, dreams, plans, memories

I think each one of us among this 7 billion strong on this planet form a collective humanity, something so complex and yet so beautiful. Think about it, there is no one out there in those 7 billion who is exactly like you. You are who you are because you're the collective sum of all your experiences, emotions, memories and imperfections and that makes you so unique that I wish everyone would cherish that. The world would be a lot happier if we did.

On a typical Friday night I am

Relaxing at home, music playing in the background, Oolong tea steaming in a cup beside me with a good book in my hand. Or else I'm catching up friends over dinner and maybe a movie.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit

Well I'm willing to admit pretty much anything and everything but let's give it a shot anyway.

- I love the colour orange.
- I wear a lot of blue
- I like to get pedicures

You should message me if

- We have a high match score (something that seems to be increasingly rare)
- You're kind, intelligent, generous, honest (so rare these days) and there's nothing and no-one you'd rather be than your own unique self
- You'd love to make a friend (and maybe more whether serious or casual) from a far away place (or nearby)
- You value intelligence, romance and creativity more than anything else
- If you think we've got things and common
- You've got this far. As a UX designer I know that people have short attention spans and don't like scrolling but I appreciate people who have patience.
- Do you need any more reasons? Sometimes life needs that leap of faith, you never know what can happen.
