My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Note: If you "like" me or rate my profile highly or whatever, please do message me. It can't hurt. I am not a A-List subscriber and I'd like to circumvent some of the silliness of guessing who did what based on who visited my profile. Its eh.

Hmm, well.

My name is Nick. It's short for nickname, because that is not in fact my name. I'm on here every once in a while but if you message me I will get it and respond asap, yay smartphones.

I am Jewish and being Jewish is very important to me. That said, I tend to have a rather different perspective on what being jewish means to me than most denominations typically express.

I guess the big ones are kosher and shabbat. So,
1) I keep a kosher kitchen, because I like hosting friends and being able to cook for them. I do not keep kosher outside of my home. Or I did when I had a kitchen. I recently moved and am no longer of my domain. It is very sad. So sad kittens cry out of pity.
2) My idea of shabbat is sharing a nice meal with some friends. I try to make this happen every week; it doesn't always work out but I try.

Some fun facts about me would have to include that I have often been called a nerd. I tend to agree, though I will say, that "nerd," like any label, fails to fully describe who I am.
I also used to go to this swing dancing club and really enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind doing that again. I do drink, though rarely and in moderation. My body can't quite handle that sort of intense abuse anymore. College happened and it was great, but I think that's over and done with. Now I suffer in grad school.
I tend to play a fair bit of League of Legends when I am able and love sci-fi films/books/tv.
My favorite date ever was when I went to a Thai restaurant and brought/played a board game, Settlers of Catan.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Im currently a grad student at NYU pursuing an M.S. in Public Relations. I am also looking for a job. Because rent.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I am pretty darned good at writing. Better than many, possibly most, but I am not the best of them all, not by a long shot.

I am also good at listening and making others feel comfortable. I find myself having to do this more often than you'd likely expect and I do enjoy it.

I'm pretty good at disagreeing without offending anyone. The trick is to indicate understanding of the other's perspective and simply state "I disagree" and follow it up by validating their intent.

I'm also pretty good at meeting strangers and making single serving friends (reference to the movie Fight Club - Airplane scene). The trouble is that very often this new friend wants to continue to develop a friendship via social media and I'm faced with the choice. Sometimes it can be a hard choice to make.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is a hard question to answer, I've never actually asked someone let alone known for certain what their thoughts were the first time they met me. I think I will flatter myself in this next paragraph and be a bit silly.

The very first thing people notice about me is how much I remind them of their dream the night beforehand, in which the Fates told them they would meet a fellow who's sweat turns to gold upon mixing with the summers first dew.

I remind them of this dream because I look like the guy who was carrying the Fates luggage. They were going on vacation and you were their last appointment; it was a nightmare. (Heh. See what I did there? Hehehehe)

- I encountered the book, How I Became Stupid and really enjoyed it, though the ending was lame.
- My favorite movie is probably Horsey. It's a candadian film and I highly recommend it. I also refuse to watch it again; it's a good memory and I don't want to risk ruining it.
- My favorite TV show is probably The West Wing.
- My mother makes this cows tongue recipe on special ocasions and it is really delicious.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I've compiled a couple different lists that are all more or less completely untrue. But then, I don't really think this list was meant to be the most literal.

1) people, privacy, water, food, toilet paper/tissues, and my glasses

2) the internet, chocolate, alcohol with friends, star wars, hair, and the occasional coffee high

3) ice cream, vanilla coke, bagels, bug zappers, last years textbooks and 24 hour bodegas.

4)coffee, sleep, more coffee, cereal & milk, more cofee, heart palpitations - I really dont know what I'd do without these.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
1) I spend time trying to figure out if someone likes me or if my feeling for someone are reciprocated. I have some trouble with that.
2) Where else can I send my resume?
3) I spend some time every now and again to think exclusively about myself, a general check-up with some time to focus on whatever particular thing is disturbing my equilibrium.
4) How can I meet more people?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hosting a meal at home, or at a shabbos meal somewhere ro else just relaxing and taking some personal time. Lately, I've been writing a bit too, yay procrastination (for assignments due saturday morning).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I lived with two girls. One of them was extremely passive aggressive and, over the last few months, caused me a lot of stress. Thank god that's over. The other was an excellent roommate, if given to rely on homeopathic remedies slightly more than the average person.

Some people think living with girls is better while others say the opposite.
In my opinion, its all the same thing.
