My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm moving to the Portland area in September. Very excited! Looking for new friends, potential lovers, and professional contacts. I won't be messaging anyone until I land and am settled, but feel free to reach out if it suits your fancy.

"Gamble everything for Love, if you're a true human being. If not, leave this gathering. Half-heartedness doesn't reach into majesty. You set out to find God, but then you keep stopping for long periods at meanspirited roadhouses. Don't wait any longer. DIVE. In the ocean, leave & let the sea be YOU. Silent, absent, walking an empty road, all praise." ~Jelaluddin Rumi

I am many things, much of which can only be hinted at here.
Healer, mystic, scientist, poet, activist, martial artist, dancer, naturalist, joker, ever evolving and growing into greater awareness and actualizatuon.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living. Breathing. Loving. Fighting. Creating. Destroying. Healing. Laughing.

Recently finished my MS in Asian Medicine/acupuncture. Now figuring out what the next step is. For the summer I'm working at Trackers- an outdoor education company that teaches archery, primitive skills, with a touch of fantasy and story telling camp. Our camp is in the Boulder Creek mountains, but HQ is in Berkeley.

When I get through the acupuncture boards, I'm drawn to working with people with PTSD, depression, and other mental/emotional/spiritual issues. It's amazing what our medicine can offer on that level.

Organizing all-night sacred fire ceremonies full of music, dancing, poetry, spontaneity, and raucous laughter..

Dismantling the racist, homophobic, misogynistic, planet-destroying system we've inherited, while at the same time cultivating its antidote.

Preparing for a dramatic shift in our reality on this planet- which could be a number of things that are open for debate that I'd love to talk about with you.

Enjoying the ride.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Archery, climbing, being real, getting to the point, lighting things on fire, annunciating, poetisizing, making shit up, jumping into new things, rolling with the blows.

I love all things botanical and fungal (well maybe not all things), and am very versed in Pacific Northwest native medicinals/edibles as well as a fairly handy gardener/permaculturist.

I'm loving my job teaching kids and exposing them to many of the tools of forest craft that are my passion. Trackers is a wonderfully progressive company and we get to talk to them about big things like breaking down racism and misogyny and how to survive and thrive through the apocalypse.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I show up and not afraid to be seen. Some say I'm a smartass, I say that's better than a dumbass, or worse still no ass.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'm a big Tolkien geek, and love anything with a far-away, long-ago fantasy/sci-fi/romance theme. My life is the Fifth Sacred Thing. Also real into permaculture/ecology non-fiction, sacred geometry, holistic medicine, ancient history, and very into my Celtic roots so anything with that kind of twist, so to speak, is great. Rumi, Kahlil Gibran, Yeats, Loreena McKennitt (the lyrics of her songs are incredible poetry on their own), David Deida's works. I also read a lot about the prevailing international drama of our species (news). We live in interesting times.

Movies tend to follow the same pattern.
Not really a tv person. I hadn't really watched Game of Thrones till this past spring, and then I binged and caught up to season 4 in about three weeks.

I think John Stewart is a god and deserves a Nobel Peace Prize.

Music- when I want to dance/zone in: beats antique, glitch mob, opio, lynx, etc.
When I'm feeling soulful: Loreena McKennit, Wendy Rule, Sarah McLachlan,
When I need to stomp some orcs and/or Romans: my most favorite band now is Eluveitie- Celtic folk metal:, tool, Black Sabbath
This gets me all hot and bothered:

I love food from all over the world and will eat just about anything. But I'm really pretty adamant about it being organic, local, and ethically raised. I've a background in ecology and sustainable agriculture, so this is one of those things that's real important to me.

I love to cook and firmly believe in the statement "women belong in the kitchen, men belong in the kitchen, everyone belongs in the kitchen, kitchen has food."
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
The electromagnetic field

Shall I go on?...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Asian/Holistic medicine.
Sex & relationships.
Food and sustainability.
Water sovereignty.
Sacred geometry.
Ritual and magickal tech.
Where are we going (as a society), and why I am in this handbasket?
How and where I'll manifest my dream eco-community.

Why Jon Snow and Ygritte couldn't have had a happier ending.

The difference between flirting with intention and "hitting-on" someone, the later of which seems to be an incredibly misogynistic term.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Not being a typical Bay Area atypical type, whatever that means.

Lately I've found myself out in the streets on any given night providing medical support to the political marches and demonstrations in response to our still-racist legal system.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Sometimes I stay up late at night, gazing into the liquid crystal display monitor, answering prodding, bizarre and sometimes irrelevant questions in hopes of finding a lover.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want a be with a man who revels in deep intimacy, who is physically strong and capable but also has the hands of a healer, and who is ready for committed relationship and all the adventure that it brings.

You think the tale of Luthien and Beren is the best love story evar!

You're open to the possibility of a real connection through this medium and know that true love happens not by analyzing someone's profile and sussing out the details of their life (though important), but rather by interacting with them as two embodied human beings discovering the Divine in each other's reflection.

You like to dance (actually and metaphorically) and can meet me there.

Also:if you've read this far, and I've initiated a conversation with you, it would be appreciated if you'd at least give me the courtesy of a response. I know women here are inundated with sleazy messages from guys just looking for sex. I'm not one of those. I take time to read a profile and determine if it's actually a fit from my perspective. It's a bit depressing to hear women complain that there are no good men, but then be one of those rare gems (so I'm told) and get little response on OKC.
