My name is John.

I'm a very open person. I enjoy talking with other people, even if the subject is complete nonsense. I love conversation.

I'm a bit of a nerd. I like learning new information and become easily amazed finding hidden treasures while exploring histories and sciences.

I am also sarcastic and (hopefully) witty. If a day goes by where I don't laugh, then something is seriously wrong.

Trying to fit in as many adventures as I can between the work bits.

Trying to learn how these computer bits go together so they can talk to one another.

Currently looking for new hobbies; I think I'm going to look into this disc golf thing...

Cooking- I made Thanksgiving from scratch last year.

Balance- I'm good at not falling down. And tripping, too, I guess.

If you see me from afar, you'll probably notice I'm singing. There may not be any music playing, but that won't stop me. I may even be dancing (poorly), and I'm not embarrassed to be caught doing either.

If you see me from up close I'll probably be out of focus. This is because my personal bubble is very small. If you aren't touching me nor impeding movement, you're probably not in my way.

If you see me from a speaking distance, you'll note that I am a bit sarcastic, weird, and funny (maybe). I am also intelligent, it just takes my brain a moment to catch up sometimes.

In my spare time I like to:

Play Board Games- Catan, Ticket to Ride, Munchkin, Sentinels of the Multiverse...

Cook- I have made entire meals from scratch. Most of the time I won't do anything big, but every so often I'll activate "chef mode" and cook an entire Thanksgiving feast. In May. I will try anything once. There are very few things I don't like. My diet mostly consists of rice, eggs, sandwiches, and pasta.

Play Video Games- I enjoy mini-games, but often find myself in something a bit more of the stereotypical gamer. Portal holds a very special place on my shelf. Mario Bros, Borderlands, Mario Party, Halo, Minecraft, Battleblock Theater are the more common.

Hiking/camping/boating- Once a year I try to plan a vacation camping somewhere. Just go out and leave all the electronics and gadgets behind. I like taking back trails and boating as well.

Bonfire- I really enjoy sitting in front of a nice fire. Some summer nights are spent doing nothing else but staring into a flame. Others focus on backyard games or general stargazing.

Books- Discworld, Hitchhikers Guide, Song of Fire and Ice, Calvin and Hobbes, Lamb, Sandman

Music- I love music. There are very few genres that I don't like. I guess my main interests are 80's bands. I am not a fan of rap. Otherwise, my main selection would be rock, classic, oldies, and a little techno.

Shows- IT Crowd, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Game of Thrones, Monty Python, Doctor Who, Bones, American Dad, Futurama, Top Gear, Fringe, X-files

Movies- Avengers, Spiderman, LoTR, Batman, Muppets, Finding Nemo, Scott Pilgrim

I often don a low cut t-shirt, leather boots, and a great amount of stakes and holy water, and quest forward to expunge the world from vampires. That, or I'm working. It's pretty much the same thing. I work nights; I usually work Fridays.

...or I'm doing the "Timewarp". Again.

I once knotted two guys' neckties together and ran. It was the most awkward low-speed pursuit ever.

I actually read the answers people post on this site. Sometimes it takes a bit of time.

Many of my conversations have so many tangents that they often lose sight of the original topic. It's sort of like clicking random links in Wikipedia, clearing your browser history, and then trying to navigate back to the original article through various links.

If my dog could talk, he'd say, "Look, John, you've invented an alternate reality where I understand English, and I still have no idea what you're talking about. You keep going on about zombie insurance salesmen and penultimate Mohicans, and I don't have a clue what you're trying to say. Just give me whatever you've got on that plate and we'll be squares-izes. Also, you use way too many commas." He judges me quite a bit.

Sometimes, I randomly break out in song and/or dance. Sometimes, I don't realize there are people watching me. None of those times do I care.
