My self-summary
Not sure how to answer this: something like I'm a bilingual, left-handed middle child? I tend to come across as quirky, charming, kind, and a tad sassy. Basically, I'm an honest, philosophical, passionate and playful person. I like to think of myself as a renaissance WOman with simple needs.

Born and raised in the East Bay, went to a French school in the city, went to college in New York and Santa Cruz. Since then, I've lived in Oakland (during grad school), Italy, and now in SF. I've travelled to over 20 countries and counting (dangerous addiction), but there's really no place like home!
What I’m doing with my life
I'm both an educational psychologist and MFT intern at the moment. I travel around the city determining appropriate social-emotional services for kids. Next up, I plan to provide counseling, assessment, and consultation services for children and their families in a clinic or private-practice setting, teach psych courses in community college, maybe even (help) write a book. I've dabbled around quite a bit over the past 10 years, and am ecstatic and feel very fortunate to have found a field that I'm so passionate about and that gives me a lot of options.

I have this completely hippie fantasy of owning a little cottage in West Marin one day that has a garden and animals roaming around and a work space in the back where I charge ridiculous amounts of money per hour for giving advice to people....ahhh, wouldn't that be nice?

For now, I'm happy to be able to afford my own place by golden gate park (with a free parking garage, washer/dryer, and dishwasher of my very own - woop woop!) and to get summers off.

Lately, I've also been doing a lot of hiking (with my little buddy, Elsie), swimming, yoga, flamenco dancing, and volunteering (at a child abuse hotline). Definitely can't complain.
I’m really good at
Catching spiders and putting them outside. Figuring out where I parked my car. Thinking up something fun to do given limited resources. Getting all sappy about the little beautiful moments in life. Having a photographic memory for faces and a borderline IQ for remembering names. Never becoming fully immune to (or hardened by) the poverty I see on the street and at work almost daily. Being a minimalist. Making a joke or laughing way too loudly at ridiculously inappropriate times.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm a total cracker. Although a 3rd grade boy I used to work with once called me an "inside-out Oreo cookie, cause you're white on the outside but you're black on the inside!"

...did you forget where I'm from?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What makes people tick, where I'm heading in life, where the world is heading, how to make a difference. I've never been more serious.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually out eating, drinking, dancing, seeing a show, or having random fun with friends. Or passed out way too early on the couch while watching a movie. Last night I did a night kayaking trip through the Oakland estuary before pigging out on some ribs, so you never know...
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
People from this site who meet me are always shocked by how much better they think I look in person, to the point where they don't even recognize me. I've changed photos and have still gotten the same comment on first dates. Can't tell if I'm flattered or annoyed that I take such bad photos...
You should message me if
You're kind, authentic, and fun-loving. You have a stable job and are planning to live in the Bay Area for at least another few years. You are relatively self-aware/accepting and are therefore not scared to feel, express, or be around, the full range of human emotion (sounds obvious, but you'd be surprised ;). Pretty much sums it up. You should get bonus points just for reading this entire thing!
