My self-summary
I like being intellectually challenged. Sometimes I even like being offended. You should have strong opinions, even if it leads to occasionally butting heads. I'm looking for someone to keep me honest and on my toes.

I'm an unapologetic nerd (On the internet? Scandalous). I have a box full of dice with more than six sides. I get satisfaction from organically working long or obscure words into conversations. I tend to name electronics. My favorite animals are cephalopods; I've been known to go to the aquarium just to hang out with the cuttlefish.

I'm not a hipster, but I don't make a very good case for it. My opinion of a bar is directly proportional to how divey it is. I love bad movies. Don't worry though- I promise not to grow out my mustache until I'm an old man.
What I’m doing with my life
Living in denial that college is over, and working in drug discovery in Cambridge. This summer I'll be starting grad school for bioinformatics; I've had enough of this real world nonsense.
I’m really good at
Making popcorn. Forget that microwaved over-buttered junk, popcorn is an art.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Most recently read The Demolished Man by Alfred Bester as part of my ongoing mission to collect foundational sci fi. The Stars My Destination/Tiger! Tiger! was much better though. Currently powering through the Walking Dead comics. My favorite authors at the moment are China Miéville and Peter Watts (how can you not love a novel with citations?). I thoroughly enjoyed John Hodgman's books of fake trivia. I'm pretentious enough to have a favorite poet, and doubly bad because it's EE Cummings (capitalized out of respect, pedants).

Favorite TV shows are equally dorky: Adventure Time, the Walking Dead (but I'd prefer they change it to Glenn and Daryl Show), Archer, the Daily Show, and Top Gear even though I'm not actually interested in cars. Top movies include bad sci fi of course and especially Mystery Science Theater.

As far as music goes: The Decemberists, They Might Be Giants, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Guster, Jonathan Coulton, and Radiohead. I've been listening to a lot of ambient music at work, like Sigur Ros and Glorie, so if you have some suggestions like that I'd love to hear them.
The six things I could never do without
Cheddar cheese, parentheses, Reddit, British TV, and a good coffee stout.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future- not so much making plans as being bitter about the current dearth of rocket ships. Science. Norse mythology.
On a typical Friday night I am
Appreciating the culture of some dive bar or another.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My two favorite things are commitment and changing myself.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 23–27
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You need someone to mock terrible movies with. You enjoy dark beers, or know how to brew a Flemish sour. You want to compare zombie plans. You're good enough at geography to save my pub trivia team. You like starting conversations in the middle- I'll play along.

Apparently, this is the Cliff's Notes version: http://www.okcupid.com/dt?g=7CNn4k7s3SY

If you send me a message that says more than just "hi" I promise I'll write you back. Nothing's more impressive than when a girl makes the first move, and it'll spare you my trademarked brand of awkward first contact.
