My Self-Summary
Hello interwebs! I'm a slender welsh (although not welsh fluent)
lad working in Henley and living in Reading. I'm very much fond of
gizmos, gadgets, games and apparently things that
begin with the letter 'g'.
I'm an odd mix of lazy and hard working depending on circumstance but it always seems to pull me through with decent results.
Pets, specifically cats are my main weakness. The mere sight of a cat's cheeks can send me into a spiral of "Dawwww". My nemesis "Dr Nasty" must never find this out, or the world could be in grave danger (perhaps...probably not).
Despite my academic background I'm rather fond of performing arts, be it singing, dance or acting. I've never been bold enough as to do much of it beyond a few school plays but it is not uncommon for me to sing along to a song that looks like it would be fun to attempt.

What I’m doing with my life
Having graduated from Swansea Metropolitan University with a First
in BSC 3D Computer Animation (computer special effects work for
films both animated and traditional) I applied for pretty much
anything I had connections to. Shortly after, I ended up working in
Henley as the manager of a small team who make 3D replays for
sport. Since then I've become quite active on their web services
(hosting and whatnot) and am also often tasked with cooking up
basic 3D demos for clients and shareholders.
Living alone in Reading I'm having great fun with the change of pace from a small town in the Valleys of Wales. With my friends back in Wales I find myself with more free time (which I've recently been spending building a new PC and playing video games on said PC). Luckily my younger sister studies Fine Art in Reading university and we hang out quite a bit.

Anything computer related basically (both hardware and software).
Its probably not the strongest skill to boast about on an online
match making site but I'll give it a whirl anyhow!
I'm also pretty reasonable at DIY, gardening and other odd jobs. Putting up doors and stripping paint were my bread and butter growing up as my parents have been renovating their large property for the best part of 19 years.
It has been said that listening is one of my skills, although I'm confident that talking is probably a close second.

The first things people usually notice about me
Fwar, that's a tough one. I'd recon it'd probably be my energy. I
have a habit of getting a skip in my step when I'm happy and I love
an opportunity to "stretch my legs". Cat stuck in a tree? I'm the
sort of lad to climb up for a rescue attempt before getting a
ladder. Pretty hands on I guess you could say.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I like fantasy books written by Christine Golden. She writes a lot
of stuff based upon games and it was easy to make the transition.
I'm fond of writing styles with heavy description (as long as its
in context) and she seems to possess this trait.
In terms of movies I'm a fan of horror. The Shining, Event Horizon, Aliens... that kind of thing. I'll watch pretty much anything though although I tend to favor films with a bit of a hook besides explosions.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Ideas or inventions. I love dreaming up crazy things I could build
or things I can do. Some of these things make it to fruition but it
hasn't been anything revolutionary yet.
I also find myself dreaming up ways to keep myself and others as happy as possible. I'll see the funny side in quite a lot of things and even when I'm in my darkest hours I tend to giggle at just how wrong things can go.

On a typical Friday night I am
Finlay getting a chance to relax after work, cooking myself up some
bizarre pasta dish (and probably making a meal of it...no pun
intended), and playing some games.
I'm happy to go out to a pub meal or just for a few pints and a chat but I don't usually make a huge deal of it. Its rare to find me in a club but I try not to be a recluse.

I go by the name "Long John Davy Silver Leg" and plunder the seven
seas. I frequently board ships and pillage their booty to bury
in treasure cove.
