My self-summary
I'm vegan, a body-modification enthusiast, straight-edge, a Spinozian naturalistic pantheist, an information sponge and an entertainment junkie.

My apartment is full of books and house plants, both of which make me happy. I enjoy games of all sorts. I love boats, and would spend every day on the water if I could.

I'm very open and honest. Too a fault, according to some.

I am, by turns, geeky, stoic, and irreverent
What I’m doing with my life
I recently quit my job so I can go back to school, and focus more on writing. It's been a long time coming, but I guess I needed a good shove to get going.

My buddy and I host the world's geekiest podcast. Of course, podcasts are geeky by their very nature. It's a lot of fun. Except for editing.
I’m really good at
Su Do Ku. Serriously, I rule.

Other things I'm good at--though not nearly on the same level as my Su Do Ku mastery--would include procrastinating, basic math, problem solving, and making raw vegan cheesecake.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall. To the point where people will occasionally remark upon the fact when first meeting me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm not certain I can pick my favourite books. I'm constantly reading -- right now I'm in the middle of four different books: a sci-fi; a travelogue; a fitness guide; a philosphy anthology -- and in a week I'll have a bunch of new books on the go. The books that I've re-read the most would probably be George R.R. Martin's A Game of Thrones, Arthur C. Clark's Childhood's End, Douglas Adams' The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Joseph Heath & Andrew Potter's The Rebel Sell, and Chuck Palahniuk's Fight Club

I'd list comics as well, but it would be a long and nerdy list.

- 'Fight Club'
- 'Jurassic Park'
- 'Banlieue 13'
- 'Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang'
- 'Iron Man'

- Rage Against the Machine
- Alestorm
- Slayer
- Rise Against
- Clutch

I'm vegan, so that influences my choices a lot. Generally, I eat fairly simple fair, but occasionally I'll grab a recipie book and try out something new and exciting. Favourites would be:
- Avocado sushi
- Yam fries
- Curried chickpeas & rice
- Falafel
- French toast
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Though I can be easily distracted, so it's really whatever's shiney and right in front of me at the time. Metaphorically speaking, of course.
On a typical Friday night I am
Any number of things. Hanging out with friends, watching a movie, foiling international terror plots, reading. Who's to say what might happen?

Some of those things may be more likely than others....
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Not sure how private this is seeing as I'm fairly open about it, but a few years ago I developed rheumatoid arthritis.

My range of motion, mobility and speed are all negatively impacted. I should probably take down the picture of me rowing seeing as I can't do it anymore, though I loved it when I did.

Generally, I manage it with diet, which I've found works better than any of the perscriptions I was given. Only rarely do I experiance enough pain that I take something for it.

So yeah, not a happy or enticing thing, but still part of who I am.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 28–38
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
If you're interested. I operate under the assumption that women on dating sites have a fairly high signal to noise ratio when it comes to messages received, and I'm wary of contributing to that, so unless I see a profile that really strikes me, I'm not likely to send the first message.

However, if something on my profile has caught your eye, and you think we might be able to have a conversation, then send me a message. So long as you can string a few proper sentences together, and have something interesting to say, I'll reply.
