My self-summary
I'm looking for an equal partner in life. I expect to be challenged and to challenge mentally. I have goals and aspirations -- you should too!
I love making people laugh. This often comes out through a nice balance of puns, and song quotes. Exploring --whether it be a city, the woods, a small town, a festival, a museum, or even a new highway makes me giddy. Seeing bands I consider to be great and those that are just completely random can be tons of fun. I'm a reader and will read every word put in front of me-- consider that a warning against leaving your darkest secrets written on the napkin when we meet.
My sisters and I are close. I grew up spending a lot of time with my large extended family and they are more or less still within an hour's car ride of me.
What I’m doing with my life
Walking a lot.
And I am also using ellipsis and periods together.... and having autocorrect failures make me sound like I'm staunchly in favor of cocoa puffs. (Points to you if you know where I snagged that gem!)
I’m really good at
My job, helping people get through tough stuff, being a caring friend/girlfriend, and probably most amusingly inadvertently buying everything in the same color-- I'm looking at you teal!
The first things people usually notice about me
No idea. Every time I have asked this I've gotten different answers.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Fahrenheit 451, The Phantom Tollbooth, Brave New World
Movies: It Happened One Night, The Goonies, Once
TV Shows: The Wonder Years, New Girl, Reaper
Plays/Musicals: Avenue Q, You Can't Take It With You, Spamalot
Music: Josh Ritter, James Taylor, The Magnetic Fields
The six things I could never do without
1- A journal
2- A good pen (not expensive, just one that writes nicely)
3- water (I drink a lot of water)
4- adequate vision correction (glasses or contacts)
5 & 6 -- some other stuff?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
"Wait, was that a real song lyric or do I just think it's one?"
"How am I going to word that?"
"Why do I still capitalize Internet?"
On a typical Friday night I am
One Friday a good friend and I sat down with a bottle of wine, a slice of pie, a coloring book, and 72 colored pencils. Three and a half hours later we were almost done half of a page. If you liked to color when you were young you need check out this book:
The next week I was at a house party talking about beer, cheese, religion, and the best time to start learning new languages.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I get off the train at the end of the day, if I am the first person to get through the turnstiles and out the door I feel like I won a secret race and that the rest of my evening will be AWESOME.
You should message me if
you feel like it. You never know what will happen if you don't take a chance. I've been taking more chances on the unexpected lately.

Or if you went to any of my all-time favorite concerts we might have more in common than either of us would expect from percentages (Meatloaf- 3.24.07 Tower Theater, Ben Folds 4-26-07 Scottish Rite Auditorium, Mother Falcon 1-8-14 World Cafe Live, Stephin Merritt 5.2.15 Union Transfer).
