My self-summary
Hi there, my name is Meghan... I'm corny, somewhat nerdy, and occasionally offensive.

There are the typical things that amuse me... spending time with friends and family, wandering on walks that are meant to be a few minutes and last hours, working song lyrics into conversations and seeing how long it takes people to notice, getting lost in a book, hitting the bar with my friends, curling with 30 packs on ice-covered lakes (good story), having an intellectual challenge or debate, editing papers/resumes/cover letters, and just living my life in a (mostly) normal and balanced manner.
What I’m doing with my life
Let's see.... having great times with amazing people.... spending a lot of money on reading material.... loving my 30s more than I really ever expected.... using ellipsis and periods together....
I’m really good at
Returning witty banter. Making people smile in even the most dire of circumstances. Having inappropriately timed jokes pop into my head and beating myself up for thinking them even though I don't say them out loud.
The first things people usually notice about me
I asked someone this the other day. He said "a down-to-earth awesome chick" his words not mine but I appreciated them nonetheless.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Movies: The Wizard of Oz, It Happened One Night, The Goonies, Once, Memento

Shows: Jeopardy, The Wonder Years, New Girl, Law & Order, The Newsroom

Plays/Musicals: Avenue Q, You Can't Take It With You, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Waiting for Godot, Spamalot

Music: Josh Ritter, Ben Folds, James Taylor, The Magnetic Fields, Ryan Adams

Food: bread, berries, bourbon, brussels sprouts, brie (I swear I wasn't trying for an all B list)
The six things I could never do without
1- A journal
2- A good pen
3- water (I drink a lot of water)
4- adequate vision correction (glasses or contacts)
5- coffee (it must be consumed if I am to be pleasant in the morning)
6- The Internet-- I met my last boyfriend here-- he was a French model. Plus, they can't put anything on The Internet that isn't true.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
This vacillates between the mundane (the "What am I doing this weekend?" type of thoughts) to the profound (the "What is my place in this universe?" or "How do I become the best version of myself that I can be?" type of thoughts).
On a typical Friday night I am
Truthfully, no matter where I end up I am likely answering my friends or family in partial song lyrics-- this is not intentional.

In fact, this happens so regularly that when I suggested to a friend that I needed to curb this habit, she balked at the suggestion asserting that it was a part of my core Megginess (sp?).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I like chocolate and I like peanut butter but I do not like chocolate and peanut butter together.

Send me a message if you found something amusing about my profile or you think we would get along.

If you'd open a door for a woman and wouldn't be taken aback if she opened the next door for you.

I'm not interested in guys who are a lot older or a lot younger than me, guys who live really far away from me, guys who are not gainfully employed, guys who are already in relationships, guys who rite lik dis.

I have a weakness for ginger nerds with bad-ass streaks.
