My self-summary
I was born on top of the largest peak in the San Gabriel Mountains, and subsequently raised in a mountain village nestled in the nearby canyons of Mt Baldy. Upon entering this world I was immediately released into a cold stream where I was left to catch a trout with nothing but my teeth. Once nourished I was given a chainsaw and set of tools by my tree trimming father, and set to work to build my own crib from the natural resources of my homeland. I've still never impressed him.

After my jaunty youth in the woods I left my tiny school of a hundred students and transferred into a high school of three thousand. This was mostly just traumatizing, but I got over it and learned how to talk to people that I hadn't known for my entire life.

Let's skip ahead a bit, shall we?

I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona with a BA in Philosophy, focusing on cognitive science and metaphysics - specifically, how discoveries in those fields affect theories of free will and moral responsibility from a materialist viewpoint. While all of that was going on I also gave myself an education in game development and design on the side - it turns out that staring down the barrel of unemployment is a pretty good motivator (consider the relative applicability of the above topics). Fortunately that paid off, because now I work at a development studio in DTLA. I'm still sometimes amazed at how well that worked out.

Now I'm here on OKC looking to do something fun with someone fun. Fun things include but are not limited to going out on the town, eating food, going to dive bars, playing some pool, singing some karaoke, going to shows, getting altered, rock climbing, or driving to far away places... Where not fun things include name calling, angry yelling, and plate throwing - at me of course, throwing plates at other things could be great, I don't know.

Maybe we'll go out, have a drink, and have a good time. Hopefully. That, or it could be terribly awkward, and you'll do that thing where you have your friend call you fifteen minutes in and you'll have to rush home because "your cat is on fire"... girls in LA really need to take better care of their cats.
What I’m doing with my life
I work in video games as a designer where I imagine up new worlds and complicated game systems. I then explain those worlds to people who are much better artists than I am so they can make them, and explain the complicated game systems to programmers who are much better engineers than I am so they can make those.
I’m really good at
Tripping but not falling. Talking nerdy to you. Not golfing, unless it's the miniature version.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Douglas Adams to Spinoza. My major had quite a lot of these. Currently I read books primarily relevant to design.

Movies: Fight Club, O Brother Where Art Thou?, Braveheart, Groundhog Day, Serenity, The Fifth Element, Galaxy Quest, Star Trek, The Princess Bride, 500 Days of Summer, anything Pixar.

Shows: TED talks, Firefly, Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, Arrested Development, QI, I.T. Crowd, Archer, How I Met Your Mother, House of Cards, The Walking Dead.

Music: Classic rock, alternative rock, punk, folk punk, ska, classical, power metal, hip hop, jazz, swing, electro swing, big band, blues.
The six things I could never do without
I've spent weeks in the desert without much. I've spent weeks in the mountains without much. I've spent weeks out on the ocean without much. I've become accustomed to things I would not enjoy living without, for a while, but I would adapt. Would it be more interesting if I put answers on here like my social privilege, or... teeth? Fuck, living without teeth would suck.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hopefully tipping a glass at a bar with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My kryptonite consists of those "theft proof" heavy duty plastic packages, gyroballs, and this mini game from Raving Rabbids on the Wii that involved closing privy doors on exposed rabbids. If I ever go all evil villain then the government better find this and devise some sort of trap that utilizes all three or god help everyone.

You should message me if
If you are funny and fun, and definitely not a plate thrower.
