My self-summary
I'm fascinated by all things quirky and delicious. Whether it's a new dish, book, idea, anything. I think a human's abilities to learn, reason, and create are rivaled only by our appreciation of humor. I'm all for living a healthy and fulfilling lifestyle that's pleasing as well.
What I’m doing with my life
I have so much going on right now, it's insane! I'm back in school, going back for a degree I can actually use, unlike the one in journalism. Knew I shoulda listened to my father when he said to major in business, smh. On top of that, I work from home creating, editing, and fine-tuning resumes and cover letters, as well as giving interview sessions and pointers. My resolution for this year was to live more mindfully - really noticing and enjoying every aspect of life and becoming healthier and more inquisitive. I think I've got a pretty good start so far!
I’m really good at
Making a pretty darn good tomato soup and grilled cheese with only ketchup, a few spices, and the end pieces of a loaf. :) I also like drawing people out of their shells and making them feel comfortable.
The first things people usually notice about me
My hair is definitely the first physical thing people notice about me. Kid you not, I'll walk down the street and feel a tug on my locs, only to turn around to a sheepish grin and an "I'm sorry, I couldn't help it." Sort of flattering. :) And they also notice I talk a lot. Like a chipmunk with Mountain Dew.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
It's really hard to narrow down the books I like.... but I could read The Chronicles of Narnia over and over. Those and Lord of the Rings (yes I am a nerd :P).
Pan's Labyrinth fascinated me, and the only movie I ever cried over was Turtles Can Fly. Like with the books I enjoy, I like how Pan's Labyrinth takes you out of reality but draws a parallel to things going on today. Turtles Can Fly really changed my views about war.
I love international beats in music. Nigerian, island, latin, bluegrass, zydeco - love it all!
And the most important components in a good meal are proper spices, fresh ingredients, and CHEESE. I eat pretty much everything.
The six things I could never do without
1. Roses on the bush
2. My morning walk/run
3. Quirky humor
4. Ability to reason and learn
5. Books!
6. Almond Joys
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Absolutely everything. My mind flits around so much, I have to write it down to think logically. Today I thought about how political systems were established centuries ago and how they evolved since. And the habits of two-toed sloths. You know those things never drink water?
On a typical Friday night I am
Having YouTube night! Sounds weird, but my sister, her husband, and anyone else who wanders by all bring something to drink, we cook, and then we hook up these seriously amazing Bose speakers to the laptop and take requests. I usually end up with sore feet and abs the next morning but it's worth it!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm paranoid about looking in my rearview mirror and finding a monster grinning at me from the backseat. Why does every slasher flick have that scene?!

You're human. It also helps to be laid-back and willing to let the coin spin. :) Oh, and beards are awesome so.....
