I love books that can really pull you into a sprawling kind of world. The Savage Detectives and 2666 by Roberto Bolano, The Great Perhaps, Super Sad True Love Story, Oscar Wao, The Corrections, A visit from the Goon Squad and Let the Great World Spin.

Big fan of comedic films. A couple random favorites: The Apartment, Hannah and Her Sisters, One Crazy Summer. (The scene where Bobcat Goldwaith crushes a model town while wearing a Godzilla costume is maybe the funniest thing I've ever seen.)

Shows: Mad Men. Slings & Arrows. Downton Abbey until they started killing off main characters. Into The Bridge and Justified, too. Deadwood.

Some bands I like are: Wilco, Spoon, the National, the Strokes, Radiohead, the Smiths, Led Zep, Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello. At this moment I'm listening to Velvet Underground. I've also recently gotten into Roots Rock/Americana.

Favorite places I've visited: Costa Rica. Paris. Dublin. Marfa, Texas (trust me it really is cool) and Big Bend National Park.

I gave up eating beef/pork/other mammals. Mostly for health reasons. Just seems healthier not to eat that stuff. I never thought I would do that.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Record player: vinyl sounds so good.
COFFEE! MUST HAVE COFFEE. (it's 10am as I write this)
Mexican beer. Argentinian wine.
thai food, the spicier the better.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How the choices we make accumulate and add up to a life.

Learning to play the banjo.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging at one of my favorite local neighborhood spots, or seeing a play or live music.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am still a little upset that my friend lost my Chewbacca action figure in 5th grade.
