Hi, I'm Alexandra/Alex. Native New Yorker. Unconventional Greek American. People lover. Social butterfly. Avid learner. Word nerd. Music addict. Night owl...

I'm often told I have a way of making sheer strangers immediately feel like friends, as though we've known each other for years. People are my passion, and I never fake it. I'm genuinely curious, playful, polite, but not prissy. Nor a girly girl. I thrive on witty, lighthearted banter, and, yep, take it as well as I give it. Call me feisty, frisky... If you throw a wisecrack in my direction, I promise to throw one right back! You're very welcome. =)~ I appreciate all kinds of humor, comfortably hold my own with the guys, and openly discuss topics most deem taboo. (I believe it's all in the "how.")

When I was little, my dad had advised, "As long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else, follow your heart. And always respect everyone." No matter the situation, I'm all about respect, and greatly value sincerity, humor, optimism, intelligence, smart self-expression, time-tested friendships, family, new experiences...

A few items on my bucket list:
* Go skydiving.
* And to Burning Man.
* Take a spontaneous road trip with someone awesome, letting the open road lead the way.
* Ride a hot air balloon.
* Learn to play drums from one of my cool, patient musician buddies.
* Round out my beautiful Mediterranean coastline travels by visiting España.
* Swim with dolphins, and remove the regret of not taking the opportunity when I was a teen on Paradise Island.
* Go to a gun shooting range on a 1st or 2nd date, with someone who'll find it as hot as I know I will.

Above all, I live by my heart and gut, not by the rule books. This has made for many an interesting/hilarious/outrageous adventure, and I'm here for more...

What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
having a blast working with children, and forever exploring -- the world, people, myself... you?

Overall, they're those with which I relate, wonder, laugh, hope, reminisce, dance, smile, am stimulated and grateful.

As for the tunes specifically, this guy said it best:

~ Friedrich Nietzsche

I appreciate most genres, and am a fan, friend, and non-musician member of the awesome, collaborative New Musicians Union (disregard the silly logo number!), based in The Music Building in Midtown, where the likes of Madonna and Metallica had their starts. (If you're a musician in need of studio space, take a look. It's a great place to play and innovate.) My nights with this crew are never dull!

Also, do your ears a favor, and check out the wonderfully eclectic, commercial-free 90.7 FM WFUV, and its indie channel, The Alternate Side. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
or rather, those I would never *want* to do without: hugs, loved ones, laughter, curiosity, music, and, dare I admit it -- your wonderful male species.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
the good times, of past, present, and future. And the next professional step forward.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
open to possibilities.

You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
for starters, you're legit, and so's your "if."

You're intrigued, and want to gauge the click, potentially in person.

You know how to give good message, and agree that, even on here, substance and creativity rule...

Ultimately, you're quality too.
