My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Most people would probably describe me as a laid back, friendly guy who seems equally content either chatting with anyone nearby, or just quietly hanging out.

(Though most of those quiet times I'm actually waiting for the opportune moment to deliver a quick joke that makes people spray their beverage out their nose. Not to be cruel you understand, it's more of an experiment to determine how the amount of liquid sprayed from a nose varies depending on the type of drink consumed. It's purely scientific. Really! I'm going to write a book. Or at least a web article.)

More generally, I try to take a balanced approach to life. I plan and prepare for the future, but living life fully is too important to pass up opportunities because they weren't "part of the plan". Adapt to what is, and get on with it. And besides, you can usually find enough humor in any situation to make it worthwhile. (except maybe changing diapers, *shudder* there's nothing funny about diapers)

Family is very important to me. My son occupies a large part of my life; along with the rest of my family. Thankfully, they all live close by and "time with the family" generally means a Saturday of wave runners and barbecue at the cottage or the occasional family dinner.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
My current priorities are my son, working (yes, I am gainfully employed) and having fun. I've also begun the coursework necessary to upgrade my state certification to the Master level. (if you're really curious let me know, but I won't bore everyone right now)
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making sarcastic comments to unpleasant people without them being entirely sure I've just insulted them;

Finding a cheaper way to buy almost anything;

Persuading bleeding children that they don't need to cry because bleeding wounds are really cool.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm very quiet right up until I start talking;

I accidentally use enough SAT vocabulary to make people wonder if I'm doing it on purpose; (I'm not, I just read too much)

If I'm concentrating hard on something I tend to look angry.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
my phone,
Diet Mountain Dew,
a vehicle of some kind,
Chaco sandals,
books,
a belt (i feel undressed without one, and you can use it to repair cars in a pinch)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Ensuring the continued supply of the six things I could never do without;

Whether my next big trip will be Disney World or Brazil;

Whether I want to wake up at 6:50 or 7:10 am for work.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Half of the time I'm playing cards with friends or occasionally at the pub; I also try to go to the Theatre or a concert every couple of months.

The other half of the time I am at home making sure a small child gets enough sleep to not have a breakdown by dinner-time on Saturday
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have far more in common with Sheldon from Big Bang Theory than I'd like to admit.

I still have some d10's and d20's, I'm familiar with M:TG, Rifts, Champions and AD&D; and I remember when WOTC didn't rule the world. (yes, this is intentionally vague. I'm only willing to admit it to people who know what it means.)

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You at least smiled while reading my profile;

You don't mind that I have a child who lives with me;

After you tell me you think I'm wrong you won't get upset when I return the favor; (politely of course)

And obviously, if you think it might be fun to meet;

P.S. If you're the type that doesn't want to send the first msg but you found my profile interesting, at least wink or something. Otherwise I may never know!
