My self-summary
I enjoy a well constructed joke. In the far reaches of Northern Ontario where I was born and raised, the only thing that kept us warm through the long, harsh, bone chilling winters were our senses of humour. That, and our huts made of sarcasm.

I find summarizing myself to be a very awkward experience.
What I’m doing with my life
Well...I have an undergraduate degree in Forensic Science, and now I'm finishing up a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry at U of T. So I suppose I'm on track to become A) a professor, B) an industrial scientist or C) a Wal-Mart greeter. My future career path remains a mystery.

I have always wanted to write a novel. Probably something science fiction/fantasy based. Lots of ideas floating around, we'll see what happens.

I also enjoy skepticism. I feel as though science education, skepticism and critical thinking are valuable, and a worthwhile investment.
I’m really good at
- Constructing mildly amusing pun runs
- Worrying about things
- Cooking (a limited repertoire mind you, but readily expanding)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
- Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask
- Super Mario Sunshine
- Pokemon Yellow (it's awesome and you know it)

Fantasy / Science Fiction
- A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin
- The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan
- The Foundation Series by Isaac Asimov
- Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
- The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury
Science Fiction Short Stories
- Call Me Joe by Poul Anderson
- Tunesmith by Lloyd Biggle, Jr.
- Dark They Were, and Golden-Eyed by Ray Bradbury
- Demon Haunted World by Carl Sagan
- Hyperspace by Michio Kaku
- Collapse by Jared Diamond

- I have a strong affinity for animation
- Princess Mononoke
- The Lion King (even the Lion King 2 wasn't that bad)
- Aladdin
- Lilo and Stitch
- Wall-E
- Jurassic Park
- Aliens
- Terminator 2
- Star Wars (IV, V, VI)

- Avatar: The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra
- Game of Thrones
- Beast Wars
- Community
- QI
- The Simpsons
- Star Trek (TNG and DS9)
- Breaking Bad
- The West Wing

- I like things, but I'm not sure how to label or categorize my mildly apathetic stance on music. I guess if you made a movie of my music interests, it would star Rock and Roll, and Hip Hop would have a small cameo. Boney M can come too.

- Lasagna is pretty swell
- Chili is quite delicious
- Spaghetti is pleasant
- Big fan of Broccoli
- Not really sure what to write here
The six things I could never do without
1. Food
2. Water
3. Air
4. Vaccines (I would consider myself firmly in the pro-vaccination camp)
5. Puppies
6. Family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
- The unremitting march of time
- The mind-boggling immensity of the universe
- Logical fallacies
- The future possibility of owning a dog
On a typical Friday night I am
Typically I am home on a Friday night. I have been known to, on occasion, "hit the town" as the kids say, but I'm afraid I'm rather boring. A nice night in hanging out with friends, playing some cards, video or board games is right up my alley! That would probably explain the necessity of this profile.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Easy there okcupid...we've just met. I'm not sure I understand the nature of this question. I suppose I'm pretty embarrassed that I don't hate every single Nickelback song ever recorded (Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting is the exception, if you have to know. But it's an Elton John cover, so it's OK right? RIGHT?)
