My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I find focus enjoyable - call it AED - attention EXCESS disorder. Still, I can tell jokes and make a small audience laugh. Word play is a favorite. For instance, did you know you could get a PhD in Ironic Engineering?

Creating, making things and solving problems in the real world are common ways for me to spend my time. Don't much care for TV or light party conversation - an intense discussion, on the other hand, is VERY sexy. Did I tell you that in college I minored in 'intensity'.

I love a good film and all kinds of live music - string quartets to barbershop quartets. Social cooking is a great pastime. Mind that your foot doesn't slip while salting the roast and toasting with your friends!

My highest joy is hosting monthly house concerts with a pot luck dinner, in the tradition of the Salons of Europe, but without the pretense. Bringing audiences and artists together has become something of a calling. I enjoy meeting new people and try my best to make everyone feel welcomed!

Here’s THE LIST:

1) trim build,
2) masculine appearance and personality, yet not afraid to be seen in public with another guy,
3) non-smoker,
4) able and willing to think for yourself, and
5) very sociable, e.g., comfortable meeting new people and good at maintaining friendships.

ABOUT AGE: If you are older than me, please think and act younger and faster; if you are younger, please act at least half my age, which is going on 969 years (go ahead, put "969 years" in your browser).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Do we have to find meaning in everything?
The short answer is 'yes', the long answer is 'long'.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Solving real-life problems.
Bringing musicians and audiences together.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Perhaps my resonant baritone, perhaps that I pay very close attention to what you say, and if we wander off, conversationally speaking, I'm more than likely to bring us back to the starting point.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
good music, good food, good conversation, my dog, sense of smell, stories with a happy ending...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
cognitive surplus (the book, and one of the most far reaching secular trends of the last 300 years)
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
On Friday, everyone seems to want to veg out from the work week. Not me, I want to be social (one of the very few downsides of being a self-employed technical writer is the lack of interaction during the week)

It would be a great pleasure if you shared a serious interest in serious music, or at least a serious interest in some music, or a serious interest in something...

Also, on March 29. 1976, the New Yorker magazine had a quite memorable cover depicting a NYer's view of the rest of the country. Hopefully, you do not share this view!

Seriously (yet again), you should contact me if you are into the delights of the mind and body, and might enjoy meeting a funny Jewish intellectual... (no, I'm not religious, but I ponder as I pedal and wonder as I wander).
