So I'm back in Tucson! The week in Las Cruces was quite fun... Who
knew Southern New Mexico had great wine?

So many people 'stalking me' then moving on without messaging
me...
I send people messages once and a while asking me why they didnt
message me and I typically get the response: "Well I started to,
but you had key questions, and I didn't want to bother answering
them"
Come on people! I only have 3 key questions! They take all of... 10
seconds to answer! If you want me to seriously consider you, you
could at least take 10 seconds in messaging me.

FYI, I just got my profile to 100% complete and....
Absolutely nothing happens. You don't even get an Activity Points
bonus.
BOGUS!

I'm an Aerospace Engineering
major at the University of Arizona.
The driving passion in my life is manned space exploration. We've got
to get off this rock sometime, and I want to be a part of getting
humanity into the cosmos. Outside of space, I enjoy hiking, camping, stargazing, chilling with friends,
and curling up with a good Heinlein book.
I am agnostic, to
me this means that I cannot prove or disprove the existence of a
god-like entity, at least not until I'm dead. So why worry about
it? Religion plays no real role in my life, but I don’t mind if it
plays a role in yours.
A good quote from Heinlein that really describes me is: "I am free,
no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I
tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am
free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for
everything I do." -Robert A. Heinlein, "The Moon is a Harsh
Mistress"
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
I am currently a telescope operator at an observatory
on the UofA Campus, and spend several nights a week sharing my love
of the night sky with the general public.
My largest time commitment these days is to the Students for the
Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS), a really cool international student
space organization. I'm also a volunteer for space events at the
Lunar and Planetary Lab, X Prize Foundation, and other space
organizations.
Outside of clubs and work, I attend a numerous space and aerospace
conferences across the country, better networking myself for my
post college career and to provide me with the tools to succeed in
the emerging private space industry.
Not to mention there's nothing like going to a space conference as
a student and having the old white guys walk up to you, hand you
$500 and ask you to plan their after party.
Space plays a big role in my life, but I also like to diversify. I
go hiking every weekend with the Ramblers hiking club at the UofA,
and enjoy random trips across the southwest! Got to get out of the
lab sometime!
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Why don't you try chatting with me, and then if we hit off well you
can find out for yourself?
But OKCUPID says I need to expand my profile by another 932
characters so I might as well elaborate!
I'm very good at teaching science and space concepts to the general
public and students. But I dont want to be a teacher when I grow
up. Maybe I'll one day use this talent to help NASA actually
preform good EPO (Education and Public Outreach).
But NASA's idea of good EPO is to throw thousands of dollars at
making pretty posters, then throwing them in a closet for decades,
then throwing them out.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
The first thing people usually notice about me is my long
hair.
Seriously.. It takes me forever to get through an airport these
days.
After all, we know that any male liberal enough to have long hair
is a terrorist.
Not too attached to it though, might cut it off soon. We'll
see.
Oh and NOW I have both long hair and a goatee. So to sum me up....
I currently look like Jesus. Except sans the homespun robes and
sandals. Well, maybe the sandals. It is Tucson after all!
But yeah this causes me all sorts of problems with airport
security. Silly Americans wanting to feel 'secure'. A AIRPORT
SCREENER CANNOT IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM STOP SOMEONE FROM BLOWING
UP A PLANE!
Its silly!
But thats how the conservatives stay in power, by making people
afraid, then showing them the only ways they can feel
'secure'.
What was this profile section supposed to be about?

I spend a lot of time thinking about Propose an edit
How I can be so successful in space exploration, yet so horribly
lonely sometimes.
Are these things linked? Probably.
Also.. Who is the final cylon? Did they really land on Earth? Is
that the Manhattan bridge or a look a like?
And why has Sci-Fi gone downhill so much over the past few years?
Does anyone remember Independence Day anymore? An
actual GOOD modern sci fi movie?
And whats this about them remaking The Day the Earth
Stood Still?? That movie was AMAZING the first time around. And
now they're going to make it into another cross between The
Happening and The Sixth Sense.
Come on people! Has there been an original thought in Hollywood in
the past 10 years? Everything is remakes or sequels. Very few 'new'
movies!
On a typical Friday night I am Propose an edit
Reading, stargazing, partying.... Yeah right who am I kidding? I'm
usually working on the homework that is due at midnight.
Or sitting in a dome looking at the stars.
Or, as seems to be more likely these days, sitting here on OKCUPID
mindlessly expanding my profile essays to see what will happen if I
get my profile up to 100% complete. I've been sitting at 90%
complete for about 3 years, and havent found anyone yet... So will
the extra 10% really matter?
Or alone.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
In this day and age, what is truly private?
But in general, just ask me. I can be fairly straight forward. I'll
answer pretty much anything that will not lead to identity fraud.

a) If you can recognize any of the following names (without
wikipedia) you get a million bonus points: Peter Diamandis, Elon
Musk, Burt Rutan, Mike Melville, Pete Worden, Anousheh Ansari, John
Carmack, etc...
b) You like the new Battlestar Galactica.
c) You know what TANSTAAFL stands for!
d) You can speak English.
e) You like what you see and would enjoy getting to know me
better.
f) You like men who can make blueberry pie from scratch!
g) You like men who consider home cooking more than just
Ramen.
h) You think a hike in the mountains is a good couples
activity.
i) You think a 'hike' must be more than 6 miles, or 3000 feet
elevation gain, whatever comes first. Everything else is just a
walk.
j) When going for a run, you actually run. When jogging, you
actually jog, not make jogging motions while moving at a walking
pace.
k) You believe cleaning ones genitalia daily is a necessity, not a
sin.
You should NOT message me if:
a) You are over 30 years old. (Sorry, but I'm tired of 60 year old
men asking for blow jobs. I've got to draw the arbitrary age line
somewhere. So 30 it is)
b) You are male.
c) You are a fundamentalist. I just can not take someone seriously
who believes that the Earth is only a few thousand years old on
account of biblical genealogies.
d) You only keep in shape to find a mate, and plan on stopping once
you find your match. I'm sorry but you should stay in shape for
yourself!
e) You are still in high school. Sorry.
