My self-summary
A few words cannot possibly do me justice.
..let's try anyway shall we?

-I am a singer/songwriter (I live in Austin, honestly who isn't?)
-I do poetry slams two nights a week
-I am extremely active.
-I run a business downtown.
-I go to a lot of shows.
-I have an amazing sense of humor.
-I hate people who start every sentence with the word 'I'
-I love people who get my sense of humor.
-I am a caring lover,
-I am a better friend.
-I am a good person, this is not an easy thing to find.

I am looking for friends and activity partners. During the course of this, there's a good possibility I may find the woman of my dreams, but first and foremost, she should be my friend and she should be a positive influence in my life.
I am done with relationships that are toxic.
I am looking for the good ones that I know are out there.
What I’m doing with my life
I run 2 businesses. 1 pays my bills and takes up 45 hours of my life a week, the other makes me feel alive and takes barely any time at all.
I am an aspiring slam poet.
I have been the lead singer in several bands.
I am obsessed with music.
I am getting back into fire-dancing.
I speak 3 languages now. granted, some more fluently than others (私は日本語を勉強してい) for my next big trip overseas.

I'm living. as cliche as that sounds.
I feel truly alive for the first time in my life.
I would like to share how amazing that feels with someone else.
I’m really good at
Filling out Okcupid profile descriptions and boiling down a lifetime of experiences into a 15 minute synopsis....

Seriously though:
-Midnight Picnics (A lost art in the tradition of a tea ceremony meets New Orleans funeral.. minus all the death)
-Dancing my way through a packed crowd to find my friends (this is actually one of my superpowers, but I only use it for good)
-Blood donation (I do it as often as possible)
-Origami Stories (You'll understand when you see it)
-Saying I'm going to do something and actually doing it. (I am a man of my word. Integrity is important to me)
-Catching insects and/or spiders in a cup and releasing them outside my friends houses. (but not roaches. roaches get the boot!)
-Putting on my socks with my eyes half open, glazed & bloodshot
-Hugs
-Therapeutic Massages
-Using my tongue (these are not lines, these are just the facts)
-Planning out amazing roadtrips and seeing all the weird roadside
attractions that make this country so great.
-Traveling abroad and having the most amazing conversations with strangers... In many broken languages.
-Knowing the right thing to say at exactly the right moment
-Knowing when to STFU and listen
-Always having a pen and paper (I'm quite good at writing really small in my notepad, I have to for the sake of sheer volume)
-Fire Dancing/Poi/Raving (& only doing that when it's appropriate)
-Planning out the best Festival itinerary

But the thing I'm probably the best at is Humility. I'm definitely the most humble person in the world..... EVER. (I got an award for it in grade school and now I carry it around with me and show every person I meet how truly humble I am.) I'm also quite good at making people believe I have imaginary awards.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I am 200 feet tall and made of glistening silver.

Because I'm not gonna write "my eyes"
But really, it's my eyes.
I used to be an eye model.
I also used to be modest about it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books. I always have three books on constant rotation.
-One is a philosophy/theology book (right now it is "The story of the stone")
-Two is an educational book (i.e. non fiction/biography/manual)
-Three is anything that breaks the monotony of educational material. I really enjoy well written fiction with a humorous bent. (e.g. Robbins, Vonnegut, Jordan, Sedaris, Adams, Dick, Palahnuik, etc.)

Movies. Miyazaki, Tarantino, Soderbugh, Gondry, etc. My favorite types of films are the ones that haunt you. (Not necessarily in a bad way) But that make you think afterwards, or makes you feel something. I think this is what film makers strive for. To leave the viewer with something not so passive, To affect them.. & I appreciate good work.

Shows. I haven't watched television in years. I am too busy do/say/make/thinking. There are a few shows I have enjoyed recently, but I want our conversations to have meaning and import, not the banality we have come to accept in small talk. I will watch your favorite shows with you rather than talking about them.

Music. I have one obsession in life, and it is music. I have a neat trick where you tell me five bands that you really enjoy, and I write you out a 'prescription' of 10 bands you've never head of and tell you to check them out. I've never had lower than an 80% approval rating.

Food?
-Yes.
The six things I could never do without
Ruling out the ones necessary for life (Life, Air, Water, Food, & Heat)
& also the ones everyone says (Phone, Pets, Food, Family, Things)

Lets just get to the real list;
1.That moment when you realize you have said something incredibly funny without trying.
2. Remembering something out of the blue because you smelled something from your childhood, or saw a flash of something that reminded you of some other half forgotten memory.
3. Spare clothes (My trunk always has emergency; Swim Trunks, Gym Clothes, Towel, & 3 Piece Suit... all of which have served as emergency yoga clothes at some point)
4. Pen & pad. I write lyrics, poetry, shopping lists, reminders, limericks, jokes, quotes, and nonsense constantly. I will always have this on me. Always.
5. Mental Stimulation. My mind needs to be stimulated. I am never bored. I will find something exciting to pique my interest.
6. The peace that passes understanding. Some call it one thing others call it another.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why are glasses such a turn-on for me?
"Who would win in a fight" debates. (more importantly though, the ridiculous and well thought out reasons behind the debate)
"Man makes the money. Don't let money make the man."
Mild philosophic self-discussion. I call it "Id sculpting"
Hilarious things that are wildly inappropriate to say out loud. (Occasionally they are too good to let pass and I let one slip)
How much I miss doing improv.
How much I love creating spoken word.
Who would win in a fight (me vs. various aging politicians)
How much better my life is at this moment than at any previous point in my past.
What is that smell? (Especially when it's either really good or bad)
Who put the bop in the bop-shoo-bop-shoobop?
But more importantly, Why?
On a typical Friday night I am
Hilarious
Amazing
Performing
Poignant
Yearning

No matter what I'm doing,
I'm am the first letters of those words
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Toddlers and Tiaras bothers me on a deep and visceral level.
It is child abuse.
I am NOT okay with child abuse.
