My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Thunder and lightning!!! Oh how I miss you...

I dig brilliant conversation
If it isn't funny, it needs to be
I'm a coffee, beer and cheese snob
I garden (mutant tomatoes!!!) and camp
I love paddling around lakes with cocktails
I can't abide the willfully ignorant
If you make fun of my tofu, I'll fucking moo at your burger
Live music is much better than dead music
I enjoy learning about the world through other people's experiences and comparing notes when possible
I love travel and sleeping in nice hotels as much as on a friends couch.

I'm a nontheist who follows the Tao Teh Ching. And I'm Jewish on my parents side (stole that from Ram Dass).

I'm told I look confused in my photos. I don't photograph well. I may also actually be confused.

I am very passionate about society and social, economic and environmental justice issues. I dislike ideology and dogma, but I would be considered a very engaged *independent* progressive.

Dating is weird. I like getting to know someone, finding common ground and diverse experience. If that works and there's some chemistry to boot, then kissing should commence.

I love my people intrinsically.

I'd like a partner. Not someone to complete me, someone to complement my person and vice versa. I would want that person would be very independent and have their own gigs too and we magically intersect at all the right places and diverge at the others respectfully.

After leg wrestling to see who makes the coffee, I'd like the conversation to be "what sort of adventures should we have today?" Or just leg wrestle more.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living it as spectacularly as I can.

I have a crazy busy schedule- work which requires some late night meetings, writers group, several projects, adult kids coming and going every now and then, travel *and* my aforementioned peoples.

Regardless, if we are a good match, friends or otherwise beneficial to each other, I will make time including early morning and late night and anytime in between. :)

I am the extremely lucky father of three absolutely amazing and wonderful adult daughters who live in Las Vegas, thusly I make frequent trips there and bring them up often.

I am an IT professional and manage collaboration platforms. Yeah, I don't really know what that means either, but they give me a nice paycheck so I am not complaining.

I write-- mostly poetry, spoken word these days, but have written media critique columns, political essay, fiction (novels, short stories and screenplays) and all kinds of stuff. I belong to an immensely talented local writers group.

I also write haiku. Here are two samples:

That was quite something

The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyes.

My voice which has been described as a cross between "Porno" and "Nicholas Cage". I am undecided how I feel about this.

I am told I "smell nice." But unless we meet sniffing each other, that probably won't be the first thing you notice.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

How to make the world a better place.
How I can pack in as much travel and friends as possible.
How to resolve the dilemma between violent ignorance and free speech.
How to make the pearfect Pearjito.
What my next poem will be about and how to improve the ones I've written.
Kissing.

I often remember large chunks of my dreams. I sometimes write them down or post on facebook for fun. I never ever get laid in my dreams. I once had a dream where I was a squad commando that rescued Nelson Mandela from prison in South Africa and got him to New Jersey and then across the Hudson river to a safe house in Long Island. Just as he entered the safe house I was hit and killed by a burst of gunfire. I have spent a lot of time thinking about this. And why I never get laid as well.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Shaking off the day/week's work and either:

Cleaning up so I can meet friends for cocktails, music or both
and figuring out brunch plans for the weekend.

or

Fixing dinner and getting ready to settle in- saving energy for a fun weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When we had the ice storm a couple years back I worked from home and twice daily melted and re-filled the hummingbird feeder as a small army of very very cold hummingbirds diligently waited.

I have a hard time deciding between Cucumber-Melon and Gardenia body wash. Rosemary-Mint is mandatory.

I have been told by several I have a gorgeous ****.

You think Trygaeus' conversation with Hermes in Aristophanes' "Peace" makes total and complete sense as to why the Gods have abandoned humans (or if you don't mind hearing the condensed story)

You are equally comfortable with intelligent thoughtful discussions and really silly inanity

You are genuine, outgoing and sociable and enjoy sharing experiences regardless what they are and where they go.
