My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a geeky, romantic hedonist.

Geeky means I think a lot, about a lot. I'm a voracious consumer of all kinds of media, and an inveterate know-it-all.

Romantic means I believe in love. I'm a sucker for love stories and cheesy romantic gestures, and am looking to live a love story full of said gestures. The way to do that, I feel, is to meet more people than I have been (SUCH an introvert) and have adventures until I find myself in my love story. One cannot force these things.

Hedonsit means I love sensory pleasure. This includes, but is not limited to: really good food, sex, drugs, exercise, beautiful art, music, roller coasters, warm fires on cold days, and long naps.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm teaching high school English, and figuring out exactly how I'm going to save the world.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
reading, writing, cribbage, puns, stir-fry, knowing what time it is without looking at the clock, trivia, reaching high shelves, knowing when my students are goofing off on computers.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My red hair usually beats out my height, but it's almost always one of the two. There was one time a 2nd-grader told me I looked like an artist, but I think that was mostly the cardigan.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

J. R. R. Tolkien, Neal Stephenson, Neil Gaiman, Stephen King, Ernest Hemingway
Pulp Fiction, The Princess Bride, Star Wars (most of them), The Big Lebowski, Wall-E
TV Shows:
Star Trek (most of them), Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Arrested Development, Community
Josh Ritter, The Doors, The White Stripes, The Soledad Brothers, Bruce Springsteen
Sushi, Chicken Tetrazzini, Stir-Fry, Irish Stew, Girl Scout Cookies
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Books, Beer, Bikes, Friends, Family, Frisbee.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Cognition, happiness, football, school, books, culture, politics, gender, media, sex.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
unwinding from the school week, hitting bars from Hudson to St. Paul to Stillwater, playing board games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
depends on who I'm talking to. Get to know me, then ask.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
1) You share any of my interests and want to hang out. I'm new to the Twin Cities area, and want to meet new people and see new places.

2) You're looking for a geeky, romantic hedonist to settle down with.
