My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I adore cloudy weather. If you ever hear me going on about what a beautiful day it is, you can bet the sky is gray. I blame my desert upbringing.

I animate game characters for a living and can occasionally be spotted wandering the forested hills east of Oakland. I've lived all over the country in recent years but I plan on settling in The Bay for a long while.

I'm involved in a polyamorous relationship. I have one serious, long-term girlfriend, and on OKC I'm mostly focused on casual dating (which doesn't necessarily mean short term) and not worrying to much about specific outcomes. New friends, fun stories, life-long loves, whatever happens is good.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a freelance animator. It can be tough, but I really enjoy the flexible schedule.
In my spare time I work on indie game projects, draw things, play board games with friends, and pickle vegetables. Check out this game I made. It's called Attack of the Rocket Lizard.

I can play the piano and do a little painting, though I'm pretty out of practice in both. I'm learning to play harmonica.

I've been a bit glued to my chair in the past, but I'm focusing a lot more on staying fit lately.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Visual-spatial thinking.
I pick up the basics of new skills pretty quickly.
I've been told that I have the patience of a saint.
I strive to always be compassionate.
I can probably kick your butt in Mario Kart.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I get a lot of compliments on my eyes. They're almost black in the right light.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
BOOKS
I like the Discworld series, Isaac Asimov, and the book Dragon's Egg.

I'm also a fan of comics, both in print and on the web. Some favorites are the Scott Pilgrim series, Subnormality, Order of the Stick, and Fun Home.

FOOD
I'll eat nearly anything you put in front of me. My comfort foods are Japanese and Middle-Eastern cuisine. My favorite beers are Stouts and Porters.

I'm especially fond of an old family recipe of lamb-and-rice grape leaf rolls boiled with lemon juice. It's awesome if you like sour, savory food, and it's a lot of fun to make with a bunch of people.

MUSIC
I grew up listening to oldies and 90's rock. Beach Boys, Nirvana, The Zombies, Green Day, etc.
I've just discovered Fishtank Emsemble and I think I'm in love.
My favorite band is probably The Ditty Bops.

MOVIES
Some of my favorites are Stranger than Fiction, Spirited Away, Her, and the Godzilla series.

I'm a bit of an animation geek (I am an animator, after all). I love Studio Ghibli and Pixar, and I like finding animated films that are a little off the beaten path, like The Book of Kells.

TV
Favorites include the first 10 seasons of The Simpsons, Star Trek: The Next Generation, 30 Rock, Futurama, and Adventure Time.

GAMES
Some of my favorite games are Yoshi's Island, Zelda: Majora's Mask, Earthbound, and Minecraft. I also enjoy arty games such as Shadow of the Colossus, Braid, Journey, and Gone Home.

As for board games, a couple of my favorites are Ticket to Ride and Betrayal at House on the Hill.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Someone to bounce ideas off of
Cloudy skies
A private space in which to dance around like an idiot and act out animations
Daydreams
Honesty
Fidget toys (Right now, I'm playing with a slinky in one hand whenever I'm not typing)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Assembling paintings in my head. Thinking out dialog (whether it be for fictional characters of rehearsing for real-life conversations). I'm usually thinking about some major creative project or another while struggling to stay focused on the one or two projects I'm actually working on.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I usually go out on Weeknights or Sundays to play board games with friends and maybe watch a show or something.

I used to play a lot of D&D but it's been hard to find and organize a good gaming group that focuses more on the characters and storytelling.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I never learned to ride a bike as a kid.
I'm still learning. I plan to be good enough for next month's East Bay bike party.

The romantically interested must be okay with (or at least curious about) non-monogamy and prepared for the open and honest communication that makes it work.

Beyond that... Maybe I can show you how to make stuffed grape leaves. Maybe you can help learn the harmonica. Maybe we can design games together. Drop me a line if you think we'd get along well.
