The "Books Read" List (I Rather Like This One)

Jeeze, I have to get reading! So many that I want to read (either soon or eventually), and only 16 read so far! Some of the “plan on reading soonish” ones I really do plan to read very soon, but then there are plenty others which do not appear on this list which I am either currently reading, or have lined up. And then, of course, there are so many other great novels that I have read but which do not appear on this list.

I am a bibliophile, too. I own many books, including several on this list (read and unread), but being a bibliophile doesn’t mean that you need to actually read your books, I have been told...

* Grab the nearest book.

* Open the book to page 56.

* Find the fifth sentence.

* Post the text of the sentence in your journal along with
these

instructions.

* Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the

intellectual one: pick the CLOSEST.

"When the animal outgrows its shell, it sheds it and grows
another,

larger one."

"I happen to want something better"

Garrison Keillor, Love Me: A Novel

Page 56 of the nearest book contains a large figure and does not have 5 sentences. So starting from the first whole sentence on that page and counting five sentences up, we get: "In most cases, the type of outcome desired by a flintknapper is a flake with a feather termination in which a fracture propagating roughly parallel to the outside surface of the core gradually comes to meet it."

Lithic Analysis by George H. Odell (2003).

As it turns out, I'm quite glad that I came across that sentence! I basically say the exact same thing at one point, but without citation, so it is great to have something to back it up with! +1 for the bibliography (which is now up to about 160 sources)!

Oh, stupid year in review thingies...

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?

Well, I went to Peru for the first time. I subsequently spent the longest amount of time outside of Canada and longest stretch of time in a foreign country (three months). This also allowed me to speak somewhat competantly in a foreign language (Spanish) for the first time ever. I also got to Machu Picchu for the first time ever, did an overnight hike (two nights, actually) for the first time, camped without the Scouts for the first time ever, slept above 4000m asl for the first time ever, drank chicha for the first time ever, and ate guinea pig for the first time ever. And yes, these, too, were all things which took place while I was in Peru.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

I don't make New Year's resolutions. The "new year" is really just a rather arbitrary point put on the continuity of time (well, in the linear way in which we observe time in the West), so it isn't really something new, just a continuous thing. Thus, any "resolutions" which I make occur throughout the year, as doing them at New Year's is no different than doing them on June 12th. Good excuse for a party, though.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

One of my high school friends gave birth, but not someone that I really see any more. I think that that's about it.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

I don't think that anyone that I knew died this year, no.

5. What countries did you visit?

Peru for three months, and the U.S. for a weekend.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?

A finished thesis? Some fieldwork would be nice, too.

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and
why?

I tend to remember dates well. Some for not much reason at all. Not too many this year, though. I got my hair cut on April 10. or 11 (when my longish hair was chopped off). Then I was off to Peru on June 1. And I don't actually remember the exact dates of the National Strike in Peru, or the principal day of the fiesta in Huamachuco (actually, I think that it was August 14 or 15), but those were some events that will stick in my memory. I don't think that any other dates were particularly memorable.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Finishing one year of grad school, preparing and conducting actual, real research, and sort of kind of finishing up one chapter of my thesis. I suppose that those were big enough, but yeah, no particularly huge achievement that I can think of. Well, actually managing to do the Lares Trek, particularly the steep part to the pass, was somewhat of an achievement.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Oh, probably the lack of progress on my thesis.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nothing serious, but I had a somewhat rough go of it throughout my entire time in Peru, with a couple of days that were worse than others. And the day before we left Huamachuco I came down with a bit of a cold that I think led to a bad fever and a sleepless night with perhaps some minor hallucinations...

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Creemore's urBock beer, maybe. Or the Cusco and trekking trip. I like the alpaca sweater which I bought, as well. Or perhaps a couple of the gifts that I got for people. I don't know. Stupid consumerism.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

I don't know. Lots of people, I suppose.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Oh, the usual right-wingnuts.

14. Where did most of your money go?

To pay tuition and rent. And for food. And surprisingly little was spent in Peru (well, the money that I spent there came from the school for the purposes of living there and doing my research).

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Surprisingly, I didn't get all that excited about going to Peru, and especially to Machu Picchu, though those were exciting things. Hmm...some academic ideas/prospects, probably. I'm not terribly excitable...

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?

Perhaps El Cóndor Pasa, though I guess it is not technically a song. There were a few others that I listened to frequently while doing my research in Peru, but even though I didn't recognize it as such at the time, El Cóndor Pasa was the tune which was played constantly by the high school band and others in Huamachuco.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder?

Neither. I tend to stay in the same rather content mood all the time.

ii. thinner or fatter?

Probably about the same, though I think that I had a dip through the summer.

iii. richer or poorer?

Again, probably about the same. I didn't have any money last year, either.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

More hiking and camping would have been nice, but a whole lot more writing of my thesis would have been very, very handy.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Less procrastination, of course. And yet, I can never excape it...

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?

In a way, I fell in love with Peru, and with furthering my academic interests, but at the same time, I don't always love what I am doing these days. Well, I love it, but it can be boring at times. But no, I did not fall in love with any person or favourite animal (although my housemate's dog, Mully, is rather cute).

23. How many one-night stands?

Still at my lifetime total of zero.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

I actually got into Law and Order: Special Victims Unit while in Peru, primarily because it was on every night after dinner, and in English. I haven't watched any since. Otherwise, The Simpsons and Family Guy are perennial favourites.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?

I tend not to hate people. Dislike, sure, but not hate. And no, I don't think that there is anyone who I particularly dislike this year that I did not dislike last year. And I don't think that I personally know any of the people that I really dislike...

26. What was the best book you read?

Naked Lunch was a difficult and confusing read, and I maybe didn't like it all that much, but my love of that shit made me like it. Other than that, which took me quite some time to get through, I cannot remember whether I read any other books for fun this year. I probably did, but I don't recall. And I read many academic books/parts of books/journal articles, but I'm sure that this is not asking for those...

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

While there are many, including "discovering" a couple of beautiful Steve Vai songs and reinvigorating my interest in jazz, I would have to say that being introduced to Xavier Rudd was the best musical discovery of the year. Anyone want to go see him with me in Toronto on February 1st?

28. What did you want and get?

I had wanted to go to Peru, and I did, although I was less wanting to in the weeks before I left. Hmm...I got several of the Christmas gifts for which I had asked. And there are probably some other things, too.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

I rather liked Juno! Some other new movies (Simpsons, Transformers) were all right, and probably some others that I saw for the first time this year, but I thought that Juno was rather cute and nice and funny.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?

The evening before my birthday was finally the end of my exhausting TA duties last year, so a few of us celebrated that at the Pig, where I got the birthday t-shirt and pickled egg, and spent much of my actual birthday recovering, before heading out for dinner or something like that with various friends. I turned twenty-four.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

A much greater level of progress on my thesis.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?

Same as always: my typical plain and simple style, often emphasizing the functionality of my clothing over the style.

34. What kept you sane?

In Peru, t.v. shows and movies broadcast in English kept me sane. Simple procrastination before and since has taken care of the rest of the year.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Fancy as in find attractive, or fancy as in find to be an honourable person who I appreciate for their attempts at making this world a better place. In the former instance, I don't know and I don't care. I am not attracted to celebrity. In the latter instance, I just don't know. Probably lots of people, and I always have to lean towards the more respectable members of the NDP.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?

That would have to be electoral reform, which did sadly less well than I had hoped. I am always stirred by many other issues, but this was a new one which came up and which I became particularly involved with.

37. Who did you miss?

Probably my family and dog (or just home, in general, or the idea of home) when I was doing my research in Peru (yeah, sure, I was in Peru and it was neat and I'm glad that I went, and I will be back many, many times, but doing research seven days a week, living in the same town for ten weeks, and being rather lonely left me with a certain degree of anxiety while I was there).

38. Who were the best new people you met?

The people who I met in Peru and the new stock of M.A. students are just about the only people that I met this year, and most of them are cool.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007:

Stop procrastinating and write your thesis. And avoid stone tool analysis.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

Oh, I don't know. I would only give a lyric that I rather liked, not a summary lyric.

41. Who among your friends would you fight if you really had to, and why?

I hope to never fight anyone, particularly someone who I consider to be a friend, because I do not believe that fighting is the best method of solving one's problems.
1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?

Well, I went to Peru for the first time. I subsequently spent thelongest amount of time outside of Canada and longest stretch oftime in a foreign country (three months). This also allowed me tospeak somewhat competantly in a foreign language (Spanish)for the first time ever. I also got to Machu Picchu for the firsttime ever, did an overnight hike (two nights, actually) for thefirst time, camped without the Scouts for the first time ever, slept above 4000m asl for the first time ever, drank chicha for thefirst time ever, and ate guinea pig for the first time ever. Andyes, these, too, were all things which took place while I was inPeru.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make morefor next year?

I don't make New Year's resolutions. The "new year" is really justa rather arbitrary point put on the continuity of time (well, inthe linear way in which we observe time in the West), so it isn'treally something new, just a continuous thing. Thus, any"resolutions" which I make occur throughout the year, as doing themat New Year's is no different than doing them on June 12th. Goodexcuse for a party, though.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?

One of my high school friends gave birth, but not someone that Ireally see any more. I think that that's about it.

4. Did anyone close to you die?

I don't think that anyone that I knew died this year, no.

5. What countries did you visit?

Peru for three months, and the U.S. for a weekend.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in2007?

A finished thesis? Some fieldwork would be nice, too.

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and
why?

I tend to remember dates well. Some for not much reason at all. Nottoo many this year, though. I got my hair cut on April 10. or 11(when my longish hair was chopped off). Then I was off to Peru onJune 1. And I don't actually remember the exact dates of theNational Strike in Peru, or the principal day of the fiesta inHuamachuco (actually, I think that it was August 14 or 15), butthose were some events that will stick in my memory. I don't thinkthat any other dates were particularly memorable.

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Finishing one year of grad school, preparing and conducting actual, real research, and sort of kind of finishing up one chapter of mythesis. I suppose that those were big enough, but yeah, noparticularly huge achievement that I can think of. Well, actuallymanaging to do the Lares Trek, particularly the steep part to thepass, was somewhat of an achievement.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Oh, probably the lack of progress on my thesis.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nothing serious, but I had a somewhat rough go of it throughout myentire time in Peru, with a couple of days that were worse thanothers. And the day before we left Huamachuco I came down with abit of a cold that I think led to a bad fever and a sleepless nightwith perhaps some minor hallucinations...

11. What was the best thing you bought?

Creemore's urBock beer, maybe. Or the Cusco and trekking trip. Ilike the alpaca sweater which I bought, as well. Or perhaps acouple of the gifts that I got for people. I don't know. Stupidconsumerism.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

I don't know. Lots of people, I suppose.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

Oh, the usual right-wingnuts.

14. Where did most of your money go?

To pay tuition and rent. And for food. And surprisingly little wasspent in Peru (well, the money that I spent there came from theschool for the purposes of living there and doing myresearch).

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Surprisingly, I didn't get all that excited about going to Peru, and especially to Machu Picchu, though those were exciting things.Hmm...some academic ideas/prospects, probably. I'm not terriblyexcitable...

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?

Perhaps El Cóndor Pasa, though I guess it is not technically asong. There were a few others that I listened to frequently whiledoing my research in Peru, but even though I didn't recognize it assuch at the time, El Cóndor Pasa was the tune which was playedconstantly by the high school band and others in Huamachuco.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. Happier or sadder?

Neither. I tend to stay in the same rather content mood all thetime.

ii. thinner or fatter?

Probably about the same, though I think that I had a dip throughthe summer.

iii. richer or poorer?

Again, probably about the same. I didn't have any money last year, either.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?

More hiking and camping would have been nice, but a whole lot morewriting of my thesis would have been very, very handy.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?

Less procrastination, of course. And yet, I can never excapeit...

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?

In a way, I fell in love with Peru, and with furthering my academicinterests, but at the same time, I don't always love what I amdoing these days. Well, I love it, but it can be boring at times. But no, I did not fall in love with any person or favourite animal(although my housemate's dog, Mully, is rather cute).

23. How many one-night stands?

Still at my lifetime total of zero.

24. What was your favorite TV program?

I actually got into Law and Order: Special Victims Unit while inPeru, primarily because it was on every night after dinner, and inEnglish. I haven't watched any since. Otherwise, The Simpsons andFamily Guy are perennial favourites.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time lastyear?

I tend not to hate people. Dislike, sure, but not hate. And no, Idon't think that there is anyone who I particularly dislike thisyear that I did not dislike last year. And I don't think that Ipersonally know any of the people that I really dislike...

26. What was the best book you read?

Naked Lunch was a difficult and confusing read, and I maybe didn'tlike it all that much, but my love of that shit made me like it.Other than that, which took me quite some time to get through, Icannot remember whether I read any other books for fun this year. Iprobably did, but I don't recall. And I read many academicbooks/parts of books/journal articles, but I'm sure that this isnot asking for those...

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?

While there are many, including "discovering" a couple of beautifulSteve Vai songs and reinvigorating my interest in jazz, I wouldhave to say that being introduced to Xavier Rudd was the bestmusical discovery of the year. Anyone want to go see him with me inToronto on February 1st?

28. What did you want and get?

I had wanted to go to Peru, and I did, although I was less wantingto in the weeks before I left. Hmm...I got several of the Christmasgifts for which I had asked. And there are probably some otherthings, too.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?

Oh, stupid year in review thingies...

Ah, the Good Ole' iTunes...

Note: I am ignoring those with no artist.

Sort by Song Title; What are the first and last songs?
First: 25 or 6 to 4 (Chicago)
Last: Zoot Suit Riot (Cherry Poppin' Daddies)

Sort by Artist; what are the first and last artists?
First: 10,000 Maniacs
Last: Ziggy Marley

Sort by Time; what are the first and last songs?
Shortest: One Last 'Whoo-Hoo!' For The Pullman (Sufjan Stevens) - 0.08
Longest: War of the Worlds (Orson Wells) - 51.03
Longest actual piece of music: a track called "Birdland" which apparently features Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, James Moody, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, George Benson, and comes in at 40.25.
Interestingly, I have sixty-four out of 1936 songs which are ten minutes or longer.

Sort by Album; what are the first and last albums?
First: 1967-1970 (the second set of Beatles greatest hits).
Last: Zabriskie Point (soundtrack to the movie - various).

Top 5 Played Songs:
1. The Painted Desert (10,00 Maniacs) - 54 plays
2. Light of the Moon (Steve Vai) - 53 plays
3. Long May You Run (Neil Young) - 45 plays
3. Will He Be Waiting for Me? (Sarah Harmer) - 45 plays
4. Bridge and Tunnel (The Honorary Title) - 37 plays

4. After the Goldrush (Neil Young) - 37 plays
4. Whispering a Prayer (Steve Vai) - 37 plays
5. Messages (Xavier Rudd) - 32 plays
Interesting how quickly some of the newcomers (e.g. Xavier Rudd) are quickly climbing up the number of play lists despite being introduced relatively recently, compared to some of the old hacks (The Painted Desert, The Light of the Moon) which I played ever so often while staring at rocks all day in Peru.

Find “sex” - how many songs show up?
Two (One by the Sex Pistols and "We're a Sexy Trio," a song which Mike, Adam and Margaret put together in OAC).

Find “death” - how many songs show up?
Two (and they are really two versions (London and Broadway) of the same song from Les Mis).

Find “love” - how many songs show up?
Sixty-Five (I'm sure that you do not need my interpretation here to see what I am all about...)

Try and put as many letters as you can into the search, with spaces in between each letter, if one letter takes all the selections out, skip it, and continue, until you’ve got as many as possible.

A good way to spend a hangover...

Well, going to the farmer's market was also a decent way of spending the hangover, but I went there after I began this thing. Anyway...

THE UNCOMFORTABLE SURVEY
(lets see if you can get through it. if not, you're too scared about your past)

-Longest relationship:
~Six months.

-Shortest relationship:
~Six months.

-How many boyfriends/girlfriends have you said 'i love you' to you?
One

-Have you ever thought that you were going to marry the person?
Not seriously.

-Have you ever loved someone so much that it hurt?:
Perhaps, but love should not be painful.

-Have you ever made a boyfriend or girlfriend cry?:
Unfortunately, I probably have.

-Are you happier single or in a relationship?
I don't have much experience being in a relationship, but traditionally my view was always that I really wanted to be in a relationship, for the companionship, etc. More recently, I am thinking more and more frequently that it is better to be single, and that I really don't want a relationship. I am not sure which side of the internal debate will win (and I do go back and forth), but I think that I do better with solitude, and would like to remain in solitude for a while at this point (relative solitude, of course. Friends and family I still enjoy, of course, although I think that I definitely prefer solo travelling...)

-Have you ever been cheated on?
Nope.

-What is the first thing you look at in guy/girl?
To see if they have a nice, cute, kind face.

-Have you ever had your heart broken?
I suppose that one could say that about me.

-Have you ever broken someone's heart?:
Not that I am aware of.

-Talk to any of your exes?
No, I never really talk to her.

-Do you believe that you are a good boyfriend or girlfriend?
No. As I said above, I think that I am built for solitude, and that is fine with me.

-Have you dated people who were not good to you?:
No, but I also don't just go and date anything and everything (AMS dates are just too expensive to date everything, and I have yet to find anything that even had a good context which I could date. Sorry, archaeological semi-humour...), so it is unlikely that I will date people that I do not enjoy, and I do not enjoy people who are not nice.

-Have you been in an abusive relationship?
No.

-Have you ever dated someone older than you?:
No. Well, I went on one date with someone who might have been older than me, but by no more than a year. I don't remember.

Younger?
Yes, by up to three years (well, my only girlfriend was three years younger, and then I have gone on a date or two with a couple other people who were about a year younger than me, and then see the above about the one other date, who I don't remember how old she was).

-Do you regret anything that you have done with a boyfriend or girlfriend?
No, I can't say that I do.

- Do you believe everyone deserves a second chance?
Yes, most definitely, although I tend to apply this to my views on the justice system and the chance that everyone should get to show that they can clean up their lives and become productive, rather than sit in jail for all time.

-Believe in love at first sight?
"Yes, I'm sure that it happens all the time."
- Lennon

-Ever dated two people at once?
No. It still surprises me that I had a date with someone in the same year that I broke up with my girlfriend.

-Ever been given an Engagement ring?:
No. I think that I would be expected to give the ring, wouldn't I?

-Do you want to get married?
I am pretty partial on this. I don't forsee myself being in any sort of relationship, so that is part of it, but then I think that common law works perfectly fine, if I ever do end up in any sort of long-term relationship.

-Do you have something to say to any of your exes?:
Well, I only have one ex, and no, I don't think that there is anything that is particularly itching to get out.

-Ever stolen someone's boyfriend or girlfriend?:
At first glance I thought this read "have you ever stolen from your boyfriend or girlfriend" and I was wondering how low someone would have to go to do that, and how they could bring themselves to say that. Anyway, to answer the question as it actually stands, no, not really. She was about to break up with him, anyway, and then went out with me shortly after doing so, but I was not trying to pursue her or anything when I was thinking that she was in a happy relationship. I have neither the ability nor the desire to actually steal someone away from someone else. I am not the sort who readily attracts, so it is unlikely that there are many people who are even desperate to go out with the likes of me, let alone leave a relationship to do so, and I have no right to try and end someone's perfectly-good relationship and leave at least one person in misery for my own selfish gain. I would probably not even see such a thing as a gain, and thus I would avoid this altogether.

-Ever liked someone else's boyfriend or girlfriend?:
Liking is different! I have been physically and emotionally attracted to other's girlfriends, but always as a passing thing, like "oh, she's cute, but she's in a relationship," and leave it at that.

-Do you still have feelings for any of your exes?
No, my relationship was long enough ago, and it ended amicably-enough for there to be no feelings. Interest in their life and well-being, sure, but as a friend, and nothing more.

-Does heartbreak really feel as bad as it sounds?
I don't know. It did rather suck at the time, but I got over it relatively quickly, and it is so in the past that I can't say that it had any lasting impression on me. But maybe I am just not remembering. Actually, when I think of it, I maybe do not remember pain very much, physical or emotional (I am thinking here of my brain tumour when I was a wee one, or my bad bike accident when I was in high school). I remember being in pain, and I remember not liking it at the time, but I do not remember those pains now. But I think that I have always not let pain get to me, and so it is easily forgotten, and once I am through with something it is done, and I am ready to move on, and I enjoy wherever I am in my life enough at whatever moment I am at that past hurts are unimportant, and un-remembered.
Well, going to the farmer's market was also a decent way ofspending the hangover, but I went there after I began this thing.Anyway...

1. YOUR SPY NAME (middle name and current street name):
Thomas Driscoll <-- Not so good.

2. YOUR MOVIE STAR NAME (grandfather/mother on your dad's side and your favourite candy):

J. Down <--Not bad.

4. YOUR GAMER TAG (a favourite colour, a favourite animal)
Blue Dog <--Rather stupid.

6. YOUR STAR WARS NAME (first three letters of your last name, last three letters of mother's maiden name, first three letters of your pet's name)
Dowmanhei <--Not a terribly great one, either.

Samoht namtro <--I suppose that that one is all right.

8. PORN STAR NAME (first pet's name, the street you grew up on):

Stupid name thingy...

Heh, my mom sent me this one...

1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
My middle name (Thomas) was named after my father's middle name, which in turn was named after his grandfather's first name. My first name came as a revelation to my parents when they realized that my original name, Nigel, was an awful one. I am glad that they made that decision (apologies to all Nigels out there).

2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
Really cried? When we put Emma down last year. Sort of really cried? For some reason, when I said goodbye to Heidi before I went to Peru for three months (yeah, I like my dogs). Sort of cried? When I watched American History X the other night.

3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING
Not in the least. But at least I can blame it on my brain tumour!

4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH Meat?
I have been getting whatever is on sale lately, but I always enjoy ham, particularly honey or maple ham. I usually get some chicken or turkey as well.

5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
No, unless you include myself, as I sometimes act rather kid-like.

6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
I think that if I were two people, then I would somehow mystically be drawn to be friends with my other self (or selves), so probably. If I were someone else and not me, then me as I know it would not exist, and therefore this question would be a mute point. All-in-all, though, objectively I can say that I have relatively few true friends, so the likelihood of someone being friends with me is low.

7. DO YOU USE SARCASM A LOT?
No. Not at all.

8. DO YOU STILL HAVE YOUR TONSILS
I didn't know that. I don't think. And yes.

9. WOULD YOU BUNGEE JUMP?
Maybe. But...no, I'll leave it at that. Most people who answer these things are really exerting themselves if they use two words, and I always feel obligated to provide at least one sentence, but in this instance I can really only think of the one word to say about this question, so I will leave it at that.

10. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CEREAL?
I tend to enjoy certain products derived from barley...

11. DO YOU UNTIE YOUR SHOES WHEN YOU TAKE THEM OFF?
I used to not, but then I had a couple pairs of shoes that got rather destroyed at the heal section, so I have gotten into the habit of untying my shoes almost always when I take them off. Now only the toes get destroyed quickly. But it also makes it faster for me to get out of the house, as it used to take a few minutes to untie a double-knotted shoelace, put it on, and then tie it up again. I suppose that the same amount of time is still spent on tying and untying each shoe as was spent before, but that amount of time has been split up now.

12. DO YOU THINK YOU ARE STRONG?
Like streetcar. Like a frail, rusty, old streetcar that is about to fall apart at the knees, but can still manage to lift a whopping two kilograms of sugar. What the fuck am I talking about? I like dirt.

13. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE ICE CREAM?
Most of them. My only requirement is that they have chocolate. The more chocolate, the more I like it.

14. WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU NOTICE ABOUT PEOPLE?
That they probably want to beat the crap out of me for filling out stupid surveys like this in my own, particularly stupid manner.

15. RED OR PINK?
Orange! Of course, I don't know of a political movement which has pink as its symbolic colour...

16. WHAT IS THE LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?
Well, I can probably come up with quite a number of different things which I could consider to be issues about myself that I tend not to be entirely in favour of when it...I ramble too much.

17. WHO DO YOU MISS THE MOST
That guy that I met in London, Ricardo. Just for the hell of "missing" someone.

18. DO YOU WANT EVERYONE TO SEND THIS BACK TO YOU?
I am not actually sending it, but rather posting it, so I don't give a shit.

19. WHAT COLOR PANTS AND SHOES ARE YOU WEARING?
Why must you assume that I am wearing shoes? Is it the expectation that people will only fill things like this out at school or work, and thus are expected to be fully clothed (in most lines of school and work, at least)? I happen to prefer wasting my time at home, where I am not wearing my brown shoes, because it is more comfortable to not wear them, and my houselord does not want shoes on the upstairs carpets, anyway. And why must you assume that I am wearing pants? My logic here can follow a similar line of reasoning. Or maybe my legs are naturally dark green?

20. WHAT WAS THE LAST THING YOU ATE?
There really is something unusual about powdered cheese that does not need refrigerating and cannot go bad, such as that weird cheese stuff that comes with Kraft Dinner. There is nothing wrong with the burnt almond dark chocolate which tends to follow krap dinner when I am consuming it, though.

21. WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO RIGHT NOW?
Hey, now there's an idea! Now that iTunes has opened, I have begun to listen to Xavier Rudd.

22. IF YOU WHERE A CRAYON, WHAT COLOUR WOULD YOU BE?
I am confused by this question. Is this asking where I would find a certain colour of crayon? Or is this asking where I would be if a crayon of colour I was?

23. FAVORITE SMELLS?
Farts (but only my own).
Heh, wow, I can't believe I actually typed that. I think that I actually prefer the smell of the Quaker plant which is across the river from my house. Much better than the delicious odours which would waft over from Maple Leaf Pork when I would be waiting for the GO Train to get to undergrad. I also like burning leaves on an autumn day. And smelling them.

24. WHO WAS THE LAST PERSON YOU TALKED TO ON THE PHONE?
Who was the last person that I didn't talk to on the phone?
Okay, I got nothing. Mom.

25. DO YOU LIKE THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU?
Not at all.

26. FAVORITE SPORTS TO WATCH?
None! (Well, I do still somewhat enjoy going to a Blue Jay's game, and I am interested to see a bull fight, but I don't care much for sports, in general.)

27. HAIR COLOR?
No, thank you. I am fine with the current colour of my hair.

28. EYE COLOR?
No, thank you. I am fine with the current colour of my eyes.

29. DO YOU WEAR CONTACTS?
I do not think that I would like contacts. I prefer my glasses.

30. FAVORITE FOOD?
Oh jeeze, where do we start? Well, chocolate for one. I also like ceviche. And aji de gallina was one of my favourite dishes. And chocolate. And beer. And chocolate. Mmm...chocolate whiskey. I also like chocolate, and veggies, and I'm going to stop now. Chocolate.

31. SCARY MOVIES OR HAPPY ENDINGS?
Scary movies are stupid.

32. LAST MOVIE YOU WATCHED?
In mother Russia, movie watches you! Or so I hear, having never been there. I did watch American History X the other day, though.

33. WHAT COLOR SHIRT ARE YOU WEARING?
Why was this not lumped in with question #19? They are basically asking the same thing. And my response sticks!

34. SUMMER OR WINTER?
I enjoy all seasons, and like the changing best. However, I skipped summer, for the most part, this year (although you would never know it with the kind of autumn we have had. Bare feet outside in October should not be comfortable. Thank you, global warming!), and basically went from winter, to spring, to winter, to fall, and soon will be back to winter, and then spring, and then summer, and then probably spring, so seasons may not apply to me as much anymore.

35. HUGS OR KISSES?
Aren't hugs and kisses essentially the same thing? I like them both, although I'm sure that dark chocolate hugs and kisses would be a lot better (do they have them)?

36. FAVORITE DESSERT?
If you do not already know, then you deserve to be thrown off of a pillow.

37. MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
Ha! Beat you on that one! Sort of.

38. LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND
No one is actually going to respond, technically, due to where I am shoving it.

39. WHAT BOOK ARE YOU READING NOW?
Naked Lunch - William S. Burroughs
An archaeologist's Guide to Chert and Flint - Barbara Luedtke
Lithic Analysis - George Odell
Statistics for Archaeologists - Robert D. Drennan
Quantifying Archaeology - Stephen Shennan
A Guide to Flintworking - Don Crabtree
A Brief History of Archaeology - Brian Fagan
And a few others.

40. WHAT IS ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
A mouse, this white thing with a wire sticking out of it that clicks and is used to navigate my computer (whatever you call that thing), and a lot of dust.

41. WHAT DID YOU WATCH ON T.V. LAST NIGHT?
See my response to #19! Okay, a little different. Why must you assume that I watched Futurama and The Simpsons last night? If you need me, I'll be in my room. What kind of a catch phrase is that?! Ah, classic.

42. FAVORITE SOUND?
It is hard to describe or explain, but basically that sound, a certain tune, that marks the beginning of a certain show. Something like "de-de-de-de-de-de." You know the one. That, or the sound of someone speaking Spanish (and me recognizing it as such), so that I can evesdrop, just to try and understand what they are saying so that I can practice my own, and keep up with my own.

43. ROLLING STONES OR BEATLES?
Shall we put it this way: I own 350+ cds, from a pretty wide array of musicians. And these are a pretty good selection of music that I really like, because while I download some things, I usually only buy cds from bands that I really like or think I will like (yes, I do buy cds from people I have never heard of before, and am rarely disappointed). I tend to prefer actual albums to compilation cds and/or greatest hits, but I do have some greatest hits cds, as well. So, looking at these, I can say that I do, proudly, own one Rolling Stones greatest hits album, although I almost never listen to it.

I have six Beatles albums, two Beatles compilation albums, two of John and Oko's albums, one John Lennon compilation album, and when you broke into my room the other night you should have noticed that I had the White Album in my cd player. Now, compare this to the 25 or so cds that I have by Pink Floyd or solo albums by Pink Floyd members or compilation albums of Pink Floyd or tributes to Pink Floyd. Read into this what you will.

44. WHAT IS THE FARTHEST YOU HAVE BEEN FROM HOME?
Ha! That's nothing. And why wouldn't it have been Montana? But for me? Not so long ago, that might have been hard to say. Now, it is...well, hard to say. And also difficult to pronounce. Okay, maybe not so dofficult to pronounce. While various parts of Europe and Peru might qualify, and Kuala Lampur might actually take the cake, I think that certain parts of Sri Lanka would be the farthest from my accepted home that I have ever been. Unless you consider that trip to Jupiter in Discovery One...

45. DO YOU HAVE A SPECIAL TALENT?
The ability to turn one-word responses into fifteen minute monologues.

46. WHERE WERE YOU BORN?
Where wasn't I born?! I wasn't not born at Women's College Hospital in Toronto, for instance/

47. WHOSE ANSWERS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO
I look forward to no answer.
1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
My middle name (Thomas) was named after my father's middle name, which in turn was named after his grandfather's first name. Where wasn't I born?! I wasn't not born at Women's College Hospitalin Toronto, for instance/

47. WHOSE ANSWERS ARE YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO
I look forward to no answer.
Heh, my mom sent me this one...

Why not do one of these for a change?

1. First thing you wash in the shower?
First hair, then face, then body. Always top to bottom. It only makes sense that was, as gravity carries the dirty run off down, and would only be running over already-clean areas if one went in any other way that top to bottom. The same principle applies when cleaning walls, windows, flakes...

2. What color is your favorite hoodie?
I do not own any hoodie-style sweaters.

3. Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
If by person you mean dog, then yes! If she drops the ball for a second.

4.Do you plan outfits?
To a limited extent.

5. How are you feeling RIGHT now?
Uh, normal.

7. Do you say aim or a-i-m?
I say "aim," just like I say "fire," not "f-i-r-e."

8. Tell me about the last dream you remember having last night?
It involved my friend's old house (but it was much more palatial and had an extra story than it used to), and me trying to get a retail job in a cool hippy-ish store, or something like that. My memory of it is vague, as with all of my dreams.

10. What are you craving right now?
I thought that said "what are you carving right now?" I was confused. Craving? Surprisingly little, but nice dark chocolate and/or Lime Diet Coke is/are always a fairly safe bet/fairly safe bets with me.

11. Do you floss?
I should. I very rarely do, however.

12. What comes to mind when I say cabbage?
The cabage that I got the other day because it was on sale for a dollar, and then I realized just how much there is on a cabbage, and so now I am thinking of producing some cabbage rolls with it, although that does seem like a monumental amount of effort. But I have had steamed cabbage the last two nights, and good as it is, I don't want to have it every night for the rest of the week. I have some asparagus and green beans to use up, anyway.

15. Would you dance to the taco song?
I have no idea what this is, but suffice it to say that I don't dance.

16. Have you ever counted to 1,000?
I'm sure that I have for fun a few times when I was a kid (plus many more if you include the "1, 2, skip a few, 999, 1000). I have probably counted one or two things up to 1000 (well, maybe not. I tend not to have that many flakes), and I have certainly counted money up to and well beyond $1000, but generally in increments of $20.

17. Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it?
I just eat it. I don't know how. Off of a spoon.

20. Have you ever met a celebrity?
Colin Mochrie (I actually interviewed him for a high school project), Jack Layton (he signed my NDP sandwich board that we made in the last federal campaign), Kimya Dawson (I hung out with her at a house show that she was playing at. Okay, hung around, more than hung out with, but she was sitting near the back playing with her baby, and making t-shirts, etc., so I asked for a few photos and whatnot) and Dave Thomas (from SCTV, not Wendy's. I sold him a lottery ticket). Probably a few other minor celebrities, too.

21. Do you like cottage cheese?
It is rather good, but I rarely have it.

22. What are you listening to right now?
Bob Dylan has circled back 'round on my cd player. Live at the Gaslight 1962, to be exact.

23. How many countries have you visited?
Sixteen, including Canada, but two of those were for just a few hours (Malaysia and Belgium), two more were just for one night (Switzerland and Slovenia), five were just for two nights (Italy, Austria, The Czech Republic, Germany and The Netherlands), three were only for three or four nights (Croatia, France and Great Britain), one was just for a mere five weeks (Sri Lanka) and another I barely set foot in before I had to leave (Peru, for three months). The fifteenth, the United States, I have been in many, many times, for as short as half an hour to as long as a week at a time.

24. Are your parents strict?
No, they were never really at all strict. Rather over-protective at times, but they always had a way of making you know that it was for your own good that they worried and/or punished and whatnot. Groundings when I was really young, but just "I'm disappointed"s when older. And of course, I am beyond that know. I think.

25. Would you go sky diving?
It is not something that I have ever seriously contemplated doing, and I probably never will, but I must say that cost is one of the larger factors in preventing me from considering it, plus the future cost of extra life insurance because they will consider you more of a risk if you even go once (or so I hear). But, while the few short free-falls that I have had have been quite fun (cliff-jumping!), it is not something that I need to say that I did in my life. And when I had the chance to go skydiving or paragliding off of a mountain last year (the paragliding being much more in my price bracket), I choose to go for a hike up the mountain instead, by myself (solo hike are so nice. And it was all road/path with a fair bit of people on it, so not too dangerous), and I enjoyed that a million times more than I would have enjoyed skydiving or paragliding. After all, I got a similar view from the top, but I had to work my ass off to get that view, and that made it so worthwhile.

26. Would you go out to eat with George W. Bush?
No, because I believe that dinner conversation should be polite, and there is no way that I could possibly have a polite conversation with that...man.

27. Would you throw potatoes at him?
Again, no, because unlike him, I don't believe in the use of violence/violent acts to achieve my objectives or to make a point.

28. Is there anything sparkly in the room you’re in?
Maybe my aura. Or one of those light-up Smiley Face magnet thingies, though it isn't lighting up. Or the light shinning through my nice glass bottles of Crown Royale and gin.

30. Do you rent movies often?
Not so much. I just tend to buy the movies that I want to see, nowadays.

31. Who sits in behind you in your math class?
Ha! Class. I am done with my classes for this degree. And ha! Math. I am done with math, period (unless you include statistics, which I will (hopefully) never do a class in again, but which I unfortunately need to use to further my thesis).

34. Can you count backwards from 74?..
Probably, but I'm not going to.

35. Who are you going to be with tonight?
Well, seeing as how the night is pretty much fully in swing and I am sitting alone filling this out, I would say that I will only be with my alternate personality, or something like that.

36. Brown or white eggs?
No real preference, but I usually have white eggs, when I have them.

38. Ever been on a train?
The GO Train (Toronto's commuter train system) countless times. I have also been on a few other city's commuter trains, a few inter-city trains in Europe, one in Sri Lanka, and two (there and back) in Peru.

39. Ever been in love?
Sure. I love my dog! And anthropology, though that may be waning a bit...

40. Do you have a cell-phone?
I do, but I rarely have any need for it, and it stays off for the most part.

43. What is your best friend doing tomorrow?
How the hell should I know? He is living in a fly-in community in Northern Alberta, and I don't track what he is doing on a daily basis. But it is weird. Ten years ago, we probably would rarely talk. As it is now, I talk with him online once every day or two, on average.

45. Ever have cream puffs?
Probably, but I am not entirely sure what they are.

46. Have you ever seen The Butterfly Effect?

48. What was the last CD you bought?
Xavier Rudd's White Moth and Food in the Belly.

Nope.

52. Last time you cried?
Really really cried? When we put Emma down last year. Fairly sort of cried? When I was saying goodbye to my dog, Heidi, when I was leaving for Peru in June (I don't know why. It just sort of came out. Three months isn't even a terribly long time). Cried a little bit? I don't know. I well up at the occasional thing.

Possibly, but I tend to be pretty good about knowing where I am walking and not being distracted and such. Brushed against walls many times, with a slight fall or getting out of someone's way, etc.

55. Have you ever bought anything from Pac Sun?
I hope not, as I have never heard of it, and if I have bought something from them, then that would imply some credit card fraud...

57. Favorite time of the year?
Hmm...it is hard to tell, but I would have to say that I tend to like the time between early January and late December the best...

I don't expect to be holding hands with anyone anytime soon.

62. Do you sleep with the TV on?
Until recently, I did not have t.v. in my room (I had televisions, but no t.v. signal), so I would only fall asleep with the t.v. on when I fell asleep on the couch. In Peru, I ocassionally set the t.v. to sleep, just because I like to have some noise on (I generally listen to cds when going to bed) and had no other form of noise in my room there, but also I would just risk falling asleep unintentionally when watching something, and didn't want to leave the t.v. on all night. In my room now I have cable, but I still listen to cds, and likely never will watch the t.v. while heading to sleep.

63. Where was your default picture taken at?
Livejournal: It is a capture from the rotoscope-animated movie Waking Life. It is where Wiley Wiggins' character floats away. OKCupid: It was taken by a rock from the top of that mountain that I hiked up, which I described earlier. Facebook: It was taken at Machu Pichu.

A little blurry without my glasses (I have astigmatism), but just fine with them.

70. Can you hula hoop?
I doubt it. Not that I have tried in years.

71. Could you ever forgive a cheater?
I usually just laugh at how much their ass is going to get busted, and find a certain serenity in finding whatever online source (and yes, it often is Wikipedia) that they copied from, and read word-for-word what they have copied onto their page. Forgiving is not part of this. If they get kicked out of the university for cheating, then that is their own damn fault.

Does full-time grad student who does some TAing count? 'Cause that is my only source of income.

74. What are you wearing?

Hehe, when we moved into our Burlington house and I discovered that my window (which was basically right at ground level, as my room was in the semi-subterranean basement) had a screen which popped out easily, I was through it a few times. And possibly a few other windows I may have gone through, but always for fun, not necessity.

77. Can you handle the truth?
I can handle most anything, as long as it is not a burning hot spaghetti squash.

79. How often do you talk on the phone?
Probably once or twice per week.

81. Do you hate/dislike more than 3 people?
I don't hate people. Dislike, maybe, and yes, many many more than three, but I don't think that there is anyone that I know personally that I really dislike. It is generally people, be they well-known or just forum people I come across, who have political/social/religious/whatnot views that I strongly disagree with that I dislike. But people's real personas are usually much better than their rhetorical ones, so it is much harder to dislike someone that you actually know than someone that you just hear blowing hot air, because you get to see their good side when you know them.

A couple, one in Bled, Slovenia and another in Cesky Krumov, Czech Republic. I think that's it.

Once, if ever. I have it as part of the multi-messenger platform Adium, but I pretty much only use MSN on it (which is where all of my contacts are), and one person I send ICQ messages to on occasion. Not that I can recall.

98. What's the closest thing to you thats red?
I'm fairly close to being red. So is my sweater.
1. First thing you wash in the shower?
First hair, then face, then body. Always top to bottom. It onlymakes sense that was, as gravity carries the dirty run off down, and would only be running over already-clean areas if one went inany other way that top to bottom. The same principle applies whencleaning walls, windows, flakes...

It involved my friend's old house (but it was much more palatialand had an extra story than it used to), and me trying to get aretail job in a cool hippy-ish store, or something like that. Mymemory of it is vague, as with all of my dreams.

10. What are you craving right now?
I thought that said "what are you carving right now?" I wasconfused. Craving? Surprisingly little, but nice dark chocolateand/or Lime Diet Coke is/are always a fairly safe bet/fairly safebets with me.

11. Do you floss?
I should. I very rarely do, however.

12. What comes to mind when I say cabbage?
The cabage that I got the other day because it was on sale for adollar, and then I realized just how much there is on a cabbage, and so now I am thinking of producing some cabbage rolls with it,although that does seem like a monumental amount of effort. But Ihave had steamed cabbage the last two nights, and good as it is, Idon't want to have it every night for the rest of the week. I havesome asparagus and green beans to use up, anyway.

15. Would you dance to the taco song?
I have no idea what this is, but suffice it to say that I don'tdance.

16. Have you ever counted to 1,000?

Itend not to have that many flakes), and I have certainlycounted money up to and well beyond $1000, but generally inincrements of $20.

17. Do you bite into your ice cream or just lick it?
I just eat it. I don't know how. Off of a spoon.

20. Have you ever met a celebrity?
Colin Mochrie (I actually interviewed him for a high schoolproject), Jack Layton (he signed my NDP sandwich board that we madein the last federal campaign), Kimya Dawson (I hung out with her ata house show that she was playing at. Okay, hung around, more thanhung out with, but she was sitting near the back playing with herbaby, and making t-shirts, etc., so I asked for a few photos andwhatnot) and Dave Thomas (from SCTV, not Wendy's. I sold him alottery ticket). Probably a few other minor celebrities, too.

21. Do you like cottage cheese?
It is rather good, but I rarely have it.

22. What are you listening to right now?
Bob Dylan has circled back 'round on my cd player. Live at theGaslight 1962, to be exact.

23. How many countries have you visited?
Sixteen, including Canada, but two of those were for just a fewhours (Malaysia and Belgium), two more were just for one night(Switzerland and Slovenia), five were just for two nights (Italy,Austria, The Czech Republic, Germany and The Netherlands), threewere only for three or four nights (Croatia, France and GreatBritain), one was just for a mere five weeks (Sri Lanka) andanother I barely set foot in before I had to leave (Peru, for threemonths). The fifteenth, the United States, I have been in many, many times, for as short as half an hour to as long as a week at atime.

24. Are your parents strict?
No, they were never really at all strict. Rather over-protective attimes, but they always had a way of making you know that it was foryour own good that they worried and/or punished and whatnot.Groundings when I was really young, but just "I'm disappointed"swhen older. And of course, I am beyond that know. I think.

25. Would you go sky diving?
It is not something that I have ever seriously contemplated doing, and I probably never will, but I must say that cost is one of thelarger factors in preventing me from considering it, plus thefuture cost of extra life insurance because they will consider youmore of a risk if you even go once (or so I hear). But, while thefew short free-falls that I have had have been quite fun(cliff-jumping!), it is not something that I need to say that I didin my life. And when I had the chance to go skydiving orparagliding off of a mountain last year (the paragliding being muchmore in my price bracket), I choose to go for a hike up themountain instead, by myself (solo hike are so nice. And it was allroad/path with a fair bit of people on it, so not too dangerous),and I enjoyed that a million times more than I would have enjoyedskydiving or paragliding. After all, I got a similar view from thetop, but I had to work my ass off to get that view, and that madeit so worthwhile.

26. Would you go out to eat with George W. Bush?
No, because I believe that dinner conversation should be polite, and there is no way that I could possibly have a politeconversation with that...man.

27. Would you throw potatoes at him?
Again, no, because unlike him, I don't believe in the use ofviolence/violent acts to achieve my objectives or to make apoint.

28. Is there anything sparkly in the room you’re in?
Maybe my aura. Or one of those light-up Smiley Face magnetthingies, though it isn't lighting up. Or the light shinningthrough my nice glass bottles of Crown Royale and gin.

Not that I can recall.

98. What's the closest thing to you thats red?
I'm fairly close to being red. So is my sweater.
Why not do one of these for a change?

Back into the swing of procrastination...

At least my room is now somewhat more tidied...

1. What’s your natural hair colour?
Ash blonde when I was a kid, but it just turned itself brown with time.

2. What's your middle name?
Thomas

3. Your current relationship status?
Nada

4. Honestly, does your crush like you back?
If I had a true crush, then I doubt it.

5.What makes you happy?
Diggin'

6. If you could go back in time, and change something what would it be?
Agriculture. It was never a good idea. Look at all the things that it has lead to: war, famine, plague, social inequality, etc. etc., and eventually global warming. Hunting and gathering is a far more sustainable system, and requires far less work, and is much less taxing on our bodies (seeing as how that is what we evolved doing).

7. If you could have one super power what would it be?
The ability to make us all hunter-gatherers.

8. What's the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
Their level of sophistication.

9. If you could describe life in one word what would it be?
Impossible. (That is the description that is impossible, not the life).

10. Have you ever been kissed in the rain?
Not that I can recall, but it is quite unlikely, as my total number of kisses is quite low, so the probability that any were in the rain is also rather low.

11. What are you thinking about right now?
I am weighing the benefits of sorting through photos from my hike, tidying my room, and going to bed, and deciding which will occupy me for the next hour or so.

12. Name 5 things in your closet.
Melting clocks, a plastic skull, a chair, tylenol & a rug.

13. Do you act different around your crush?
Probably.

14.Would you kiss the last person you kissed again?
I only kiss dogs these days. And I consider dogs people. And thus, yes.

15. Are you a heart breaker, or the heart breakee?
Neither, really.

16. Earrings or necklace?
Neither, really.

17. Do you wish on 11:11?
Only that I could have procrastinated less and gotten more work done before getting to this late point in the evening.

18. Good advice if you ever go camping?
I'm a Scout Leader. I am full of advice for camping. Not that the Scouts ever listen. But my advice ranges from making sure that you go to the bathroom right before going to bed, especially on chilly nights, to ensuring that your tent is not in a little dip in the ground, as it will just fill with water should it rain. And some good advice which I have not yet had the opportunity to follow: get a good sleeping bag for winter camp! Like, a $300 one rated to -40! An old, -7 rated sleeping bag is not much help when it gets to -34 outside!

19. Have you ever written a poem or story about your life?
Probably.

20. Commitment, or casual dating?
Neither, really.
At least my room is now somewhat more tidied...
