I am bright, comedic, and a geek.
My Self-Summary
I'm more or less a
geek.
Glasses, likes using computers,
reads a lot, smart, and so on and so
forth. Many if not most of the stereotypes in your head right now
apply.
But! I promise I'm one of the good geeks, who have some social
skills and don't flinch at exposure to natural sunlight.
Random bits:
I enjoy living in Halifax. I think it's a great city, and I don't
know how easy it will be to adapt to living someplace else if
(when) I have to move. I lack the traveler's spirit, I
suppose.
Late Spring / early Summer is my favorite time of year. Warm enough
to do pretty much anything you like outside, but not sweltering
hot. Of course, it's cloudy 75% of the time, which is a
shame.
I'm a serious night-owl. Get up at noon, bed at 4 AM, it's a good
day. This causes me problems, sometimes, when bed happens at 4 AM
but - surprise! - get up has to happen at 9:00.
I can solve a Rubik's cube without taking it apart. Not as tricky
as it sounds, actually.
Magnets are
awesome.
Musical & Artistic Talent: 1/5. I can appreciate it, but I
haven't put in enough practice to be good at music or art.
If you're not saying what you want to say, what's that say? Life is
already too short and too complicated to make things worse for
yourself by not communicating your thoughts and feelings when it
really matters to you.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm currently working at a nice small business in Halifax. Paying
off student debt. Woo.
More recently: Joined the gym, because sitting in a chair 14 hours
a day just doesn't cut it.
I’m really good at
...Maybe it's just my self-deprecation circuit kicking in, but I
don't think I'm "really good" at anything. Passable? Sure. Good?
Maybe. *Really* good? Nah.
The first things people usually notice about me
That person talks kinda loud!
It comes from having a teacher as a parent who didn't drop out of
"talking over an entire class" mode until Saturday evening.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: The Song of Ice and Fire series, books by Terry Pratchett],
books by
Vernor
Vinge, the Golden Compass, books by
Guy Gavriel Kay... That is to
say,
fiction.
Movies: Microcosmos, The Shawshank Redemption, The Incredibles,
Batman Begins, Pirates of the Caribbean... Mostly mainstream-ish
Hollywood flicks.
Music: Giorgio Moroder's "Chase" is probably the center of my
musical tastes, but it ranges pretty far afield. I like songs
rather than bands.
Hghpoints include America - Horse with no name, The Beatles - Come
Together, Daft Punk - Da Funk, Spankox - To the Club, Zamfir - The
Lonely Shepherd, Dschinghis Khan - Moskau, The Vengaboys - We Like
To Party, Booker T & the M.G.'s - Green Onions... Things with a
decent rhythm or flow, lyrics you can make out (if any), and
positive emotional payload.
Food: Nothing beats a top-quality steak.
The six things I could never do without
Air, food, water, shelter, rest, and something to do.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where the world is headed. Humanity seems so precariously balanced
between crippling or destroying itself and achieving things beyond
all imagination. We'll probably do all right. Probably.
Also, Crossword puzzles. What's a 5-letter word for "winding"?
On a typical Friday night I am
At home, chillaxin'.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
This one time, I went to ██████ and █████ed a █████ and a █████
█████. It only cost five dollars!
You should message me if
You're interested in talking to me, whether for it's own sake, to
find out more, or to arrange something.
