I am quirky, honest, and unpredictable.

My Self-Summary

Yuck. Who likes this part? I'm supposed to rattle on about myself telling you why I am so darned special. I'm special alright but can I possibly explain why? Probably not. I am a quirky gal. I'm occasionally crazy, mostly in the good way. I'm the quiet girl who would rather be home cuddled up with a good book, a good movie, a good knitting project and an ice cold Diet Pepsi. I'm a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but I'm far from being Molly Mormon.

I notice the odd things in life. Like, why is it when a child dies, its sad because they were a beautiful child. Would it be less sad if they were ugly? People say the darndest things and I'm the gal who notices.

I talk to the TV, especially the commercials. I have a faithful shadow in the form of the worlds most ugly/adorable puppy. You'll rarely find me without a book or knitting within reach. I love to watch people and figure out what makes them tick.

I'm not what you would call in shape. A shape? Yes. As I write this I've lost 70 lbs and I'm still going. Still, I'm not the girl you take to hike the foothills or throw in a canoe and I'm okay with that.

I make killer chocolate chip cookies. I love to cook. Simple stuff, fancy stuff...who cares. Cooking is fun.

I have a tendency to ramble when I'm nervous so I'll stop typing now.

What I’m doing with my life

Ha! Someone should fill me in on this. I'm thinking about going back to school. I haven't decided exactly what for. I love learning and if I could be a full time student (with grants & loans of course) for the rest of my life, I probably would do it.

I'm working on getting healthy. I've always been the chubby girl. Now I'm the fat girl. Don't call me a BBW. Just because a woman is fat doesn't mean she's beautiful. I'm fat and I'm okay with being called fat. Got that? Fat. There. Now you know. Having spent most of my life dieting I've finally stopped. Now I'm making slow changes to my life that I can live with. Name a diet, I've done it. They work until you start living a normal life again. No more for me, thanks.

I’m really good at

Hum. I'm good at.. lots of stuff. I'm good at sarcasm. I'm an excellent knitter. I'm a great listener, boy does that sound like a cliche? Well it's true. I'm a good friend. I'm sure there's lots of other stuff but that's good for now.

The first things people usually notice about me

Well. The first thing they notice is that my smile. The next thing they will probably notice is my laugh. I'm told I have great eyes but so far, no modeling contracts. :)

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Favorite books? Who can pick? I love books of any kind except westerns and horror and even then I've read a few good ones from each of those categories. I've rarely read a book I didn't like and even when I don't like the book (Twilight! Hello? 173 pages of "OMG SO CUTE!!!" Barf!) I feel honor bound to finish it.

Movies. Love them too. Love them. No scary crap though. I've watched far too many movies in my life. I'm currently slowly working my way through AFI's Top 100 here and there.

Music. No heavy metal. I'm a sucker for the standards. I am also a fan of country. I like jazz sometimes, some of it I don't get.

Food. Yes. Carbs are my weakness. I like the old comfort foods and I like trying new things. I'll try anything once. Except snails. Just...no.

The six things I could never do without

Computer/Internet
My phone
TV (can I include my TiVo & DVD player with that?)
My car
My puppy
Something to knit

I'm assuming that air, food, water & shelter are included.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Knitting. Yes I admit it. I get distracted in movies by a nice piece of knitwear. I have followed strangers in stores to check out a sweater. Ok, its strange, I know. Non-knitters just don't get it. I suppose one could compare it to golf or something like that.

On a typical Friday night I am

At home watching a movie and most likely working on a sock. I knit a lot of socks. Look, see? Knitting again.

I work very hard all week so that when Friday comes I don't have anything to do. Errands are all run. Housework is done. Now it's time to relax.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Oh darn. I was supposed to keep something back? Well, I guess the only thing I haven't said is that I'm bipolar. Clarification. I'm a Medicated bipolar. I don't go off my meds unless I've forgotten. I'm not one of those people who wants to be manic so I quit my meds. I don't like the crazy. I embrace the crazy because that's what I rolled in the brain chemistry lotto but even more I embrace my meds. Good meds. Stay in the system all the time. No being a whack job.

Did I mention I ramble when I'm nervous?

You should message me if

None of what I wrote scares you. :D You should especially message me if you are looking for that special gal to take to the temple because that's the only kind of guy I'm looking for. Otherwise, a person can always use friends.
