My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am generally rather reserved when I first meet people, but warm up to those I like pretty quickly. I care more about the people around me than what we are doing. I'm pretty much a big nerd, in what I like to think is the best of ways. I laugh a lot, and don't bother keeping it quiet. I am easily pleased by movies, though I can certainly tell the difference between a good and bad one. I intend to ultimately get into criminal investigation, once I figure out which path I want to take to get there. I enjoy music that makes me laugh (cheesy metal lyrics, clever mash-ups). I love to learn new things for my own benefit. I love to travel, both internationally and domestically. When I am driving alone, or with someone who has the same musical taste as I do, I will belt out the lyrics at the top of my lungs.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I graduated a couple of years ago from a northeastern liberal arts college with a BA in psychology. At present, I work for an energy efficiency company, which I never would have thought I'd do, but I love it.
My goal in life is to be Fox Mulder/Dale Cooper/Frank Lundy. We'll see how all that goes.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
People say I listen very well. I like to think that that is true.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Not sure anymore. If my beard is long enough, it gets red, which tends to foster comments. I'm also told I look very American, somehow.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: Sherlock Holmes, works of Alan Moore, Virgil, and Cicero, The Kingkiller Chronicle, World War Z, Song of Ice and Fire
Movies: As I said to someone recently, nothing has brought me as much cumulative happiness as Star Wars. I also love horror movies. The Princess Bride will forever be a favorite.
TV: Netflix will be the death of me. I'm pretty much watching everything. Arbitrary top three are Archer, Game of Thrones, and Doctor Who.
Music: Iron Maiden, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bon Jovi, Ellis Paul, Led Zeppelin... anything with a good riff or lyrics that will make me smile, and a halfway decent singer.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My Jeep/Big Blue Box
Well-crafted burgers
Well-crafted beer
My closest friends
The occasional spontaneous adventure (ideally involving all of the above)
Edward T. Head
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything. I love to think. Philosophy, science, theology, literature, art. I may not be an expert on something, but it will likely interest me nonetheless.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
usually figuring out what to do until it becomes early Saturday morning. Then the fun starts.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
King Triton from The Little Mermaid terrified me when I was little.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You feel compelled to do so. Why else would you. And if you are so compelled, why wouldn't you?
You are looking for a Frank to your Sadie. Clink!
You think Cops and Robbers is a lost art.
Definitely message me if you want to up the irons... which is not an innuendo.
