Who knew finding a date would be this hard??

I'm back again for another crack at this dating thing, trying my hardest to curb the cynicism and embrace my inner romantic. I still think there could be someone out there for me!

I'm an ambitious optimistic science geek who could drink anyone under the table anyday! I love all things food and drink, reading dystopian future novels and spending time with my friends and family!

I'm pretty self sufficient and would want the same from someone else.

After re-reading what I wrote about myself in the following 'essays' I actually don't think what I have written is a very fair representation at all - its very hard to be so self analytic!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've recently become a Publisher for two biophysics titles, working for a large physics publisher in Bristol - which is tough but I like the challenge. It also doesn't hurt that it allows me to travel extensively worldwide!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
putting people at ease and helping them to have a good time! Also saying Fuck.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I guess people who know me would say they can normally hear me before they see me...

My favourite book ever is 1984, I read it when I was a teenager and since then it has shaped my reading tastes massively - I'm addicted to all things dystopian these days! Currently re-reading the Oryx and Crake trilogy by Margaret Atwood, which I would thoroughly recommend if you're into that sort of thing.

TV wise I am really loving all the current reincarnations of Sherlock Holmes (another literary favourite of mine) - House (yes it's Sherlock!), Elementary, Sherlock. I also really liked American Horror Story!

I am also a massive cooking show whore and love trying my hand at cooking new things - at the moment its sushi. All documentaries are good in my opinion!

Not at all into chick flicks or rom coms, love a good thriller or horror, especially with a psychological twist!

Finally obsessed with all the podcasts, if you love Serial, Answer me This, No Such Thing as a Fish, Limetown, Tanis, Mystery Show, etc etc we will have no shortage of things to talk about.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I wish I was a better writer so I could chronicle all my bizarre dating experiences from the last ten years!
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
To be found in a pub somewhere. I know I should be pretending to be doing something more highbrow but the simple truth is that I enjoy being out and about and having a few glasses of wine on a Friday night!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Is that I'm looking for someone to share my life with. Saying you actually want a relationship seems like a bit of a taboo almost sometimes, but I'm ready to take that step and actually invest in something with someone..
