I love to live life from moment to moment and to enjoy every day for what it is. I always like to see the glass as half full and look for the silver lining in everything. It's important for me to put a smile on the faces of those around me. I love to take care of other people, I suppose it's my forte...it's probably why I chose to be a nurse for the rest of my life, haha. I did mission work throughout the country in impoverished areas during high school and college, that's one of the more significant reasons I chose a career in nursing with an emphasis in public health. There are a lot of things I enjoy...record stores, reading (everything), experimental instruments, mission work, vintage boutiques, thrifting, underground performances, atypical museums, illustrating life, provocative minds, and quaint little corners of the world. I currently work as an RN at a huge hospital in DC on a neuro/stroke unit, but I just recently transferred to Labor and Delivery...and so far I LOVE IT. I somehow managed to pay off some of my college debt by working at Starbucks all through school...and I can't pass off free caffeine :) I've been working for a couple years as an RN after getting my BSN from JMU, and in the near future I plan to get my masters in public health and move my work efforts into a free clinic setting or focus on public health education and/or epidemiology. I volunteered at a free clinic in the community throughout college, and I know that's where my heart is. I think there is something to be said about reaching out into the community and how that could change a society.

Taking care of other people...
Being inquisitive and listening - I'd rather hear you tell me your life story for hours on end.
Making mix tapes for other people, cheering friends up on a bad day, and drinking wine :)

Does... completing jigsaw puzzles count? Hah.

Maybe my hair? It has a mind of its own I suppose.

I love to cook. I can't say that I'm very good at it or anywhere along the lines of a top chef, but I love to "attempt" to cook new things now and then :) I love to try all kinds of foods from different cultures, it keeps life interesting. Favorite type of food would have to be Indian, hands down.

COFFEE; record stores (and all the vinyl inside of them); Microbrews; long, drawn out, fantastic stories of epic proportions; Reddit, and CNN.

...Family and friends are a given, of course :)

Politics, social injustice, health care, romance, the human connection, the small ways I can improve someone's day, where I want to travel to next...my mind always seems to be running about something or another :)

Venturing out on some spontaneous, perhaps impulsive, adventure of some sort.

I did marching band all through high school and college...yes, I play the clarinet.
