I am Christian, Easily Amused, and not a Rhombus.
My Self-Summary
If you're looking for a 'sweet bro' who hangs out at sports bars
and pops his collar believing that he's the center of the world
then I can tell you right now: it's not going to work.
If you're looking for someone who can keep things in perspective
and sees the importance of trying to make the world around them a
better place, then maybe we should team up and change the world.
Now in Japanese
(my Japanese language skills are pretty limited -- I could probably
hold a conversation with a kindergartner, though)
What I’m doing with my life
I spend 24 hours a day keeping my OkCupid profile up to date,
ensuring that every i is dotted and every t is crossed before it
leaves the server and reaches your screen.
In my free time, I have a job (quite nifty, actually: I spend most
of the day thinking up solutions to hard problems and talking to
people and and somehow there seems to always be enough money in my
bank account at the end of the week to buy
twizzlers).
Side-note: forget anything else that anyone has told you -- the
greatest benefit to being an adult is being able to have "snack
time" whenever you want. There are two reasons why the Walmart
Supercenter is open 24 hours a day: #1, it's very profitable; #2,
so I can make biscuits in the middle of the night.
I’m really good at
Trying new things -- I grew up with the mindset that not knowing
how to do something wasn't an excuse for not doing it. Over time
that's led to some interesting times (trying to learn to drive a
stick on a 10 hour trip with 3 hours of sleep, getting an art minor
pretty much all in one semester, or remodeling a house).
I'm also pretty good at games (
board games,
video games, logic puzzles, etc.) --
competitive games in particular are fun, since they tend to draw
out parts of people's personalities that you don't normally see.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a tendency to follow through with random ideas more often
than most people (resulting in me building things like a
weightlifting machine to play
Tetris).
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
When it comes to movies, I'll watch and enjoy just about anything
(with a bias towards
sci-fi and foreign films). I've been
known to enjoy the occasional chick flick as well (pretty much the
only genre that I'll stay away from is horror).
As for music, when I say that I listen to a little bit of
everything I actually mean it -- here's a sample of some of what I
enjoy listening to:
The Echoing Green, Yuki Kajiura, Hungry Lucy, Brave Saint Saturn,
Fire Bomber, Superchick, Code 64, Kristi Stassinopoulou, Michelle
Tumes
The six things I could never do without
God, Family, Friends
Honestly, as long as I have those three, I think I'm pretty much
set.
Adding in things that are nice to have, I'll tack on my G1 & my
MBT's.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to solve the world's problems, or alternately: why does pricing
on restaurant menus make no sense?
On a typical Friday night I am
Pretty much anywhere -- with friends buying a pie at Meijer at 3am;
out seeing some local music (generally w/ camera in hand);
sometimes just crashing at home if it's been a particularly long
week at work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I drive a minivan (and I like it!)
You should message me if
You enjoy the idea of doing things just because you've never done
them before.
You like robots. Or ninjas. Or pirates.
You're looking for a guy who'll
never give up!
