I am a scoundrel, a rogue, and a storyteller.
My Self-Summary
I'm unconventional to say the least. I moved to Northern Virginia a
few years back in order to be closer to work but have recently
returned to my roots in Baltimore. I'm not sure where I'm going,
but I'll know it when I get there. I just need to get out and do
things. I'm tired of hanging around the same places doing the same
boring things. I'm getting stir-crazy. There's more to life and I
aim to find it.
What I’m doing with my life
I just moved to the area a few months ago and I'm still getting
settled. I'm dying to get the last boxes unpacked so I can really
feel at home. I've got a new job in IT and it's the most fun I've
ever had at work.
I’m really good at
Conversations. No, really. I can just as easily sit around and talk
for hours as I can listen to people tell me their stories. I think
there's a real lack of good conversation in modern society and I'm
ready to do my part to correct that.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm big and I'm loud. There's no two ways about that and I'd be
lying if those weren't the things that people carried away as a
first impression. I don't try to be the center of attention, it
just comes naturally. I speak from the heart and shoot from the
hip. It's a lost art these days, but a renaissance would be nice.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books - I've got a full library (once I get it unpacked). I'm
always a sucker for a good post-apocalyptic romp or fantasy
adventure. That said, anything with good pacing and a solid plot
will keep me hooked.
Movies - I miss the comedic wit of the movies of my childhood:
Stripes, Bill & Ted, Coming to America. It feels like comedies
today are trying too hard. I'm always up for a good zombie movie,
though. I could watch 28 Days Later or Dawn of the Dead at the drop
of a hat.
Music - I'm all over the place, but Classic Rock still runs in my
veins. Give me some Journey, ACDC, Van Halen (not Van Hagar), or
Styx and I'm content. I'm not one-dimensional, though. For every
Sister Christian in my playlist, there's a Toby Keith or Nightwish
or even X/Japan somewhere.
Food - Anything but curry. Seriously, though, I love to cook and I
love to eat. Burgers and fries are nice every once in a while, but
I like some variety. Favorite places to grab some grub: Five Guys,
Thai One On, and Captain Harvey's. Bonus: I love to homebrew my own
beer.
The six things I could never do without
The Internet - Is there anything it can't do?
My Headphones - Sometimes, I just need to take a break from the
world for about an hour and these bad boys make sure nobody can
interrupt that.
My Sandals - Not those crappy crocs things. Real leather sandals.
I'm one of those people who would go barefoot everywhere if they
let me.
My Family - Even if they do get on my nerves sometimes, they are
still important to me.
My Library - Reading a book is one of the most calming and
enjoyable things I can do.
A Towel - It's about the most massively useful thing you can have.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Zombies - You can never be too prepared.
On a typical Friday night I am
Right now, I'm either on the phone with some friends or driving
back down to Virginia for the weekend. But that's why I'm here. I'm
looking for new things to do and to get back in the swing of
things.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm not a very private individual.
You should message me if
You are local and want to do something other than sit around and
watch TV. Bleh.
