I'm a heterosexual transvestite musician living in Los Angeles, California. I'm not a transsexual; I don't dress as a girl all the time, mostly just for fun events and performances. Most straight trannies are highly in the closet, but I believe in honesty as the basis of a relationship, so I am very "out" about it. Obviously, I'm not very much into traditional gender roles, but I'm not looking for a "butch" woman either...

I like cute things like stuffed animals and frilly dresses, but I am also very practical. I like long walks on the beach, and quiet places. I'm definitely not extravagant in my tastes. I am very good with technology, and am widely skilled in a wide variety of different areas. I play guitar and synthesizer and other musical instruments as the need arises. I make my living as a computer programmer, mostly on video games (Game Development), but I'm not very interested in games for amusement these days. I used to be very interested in Japan and Japanese anime, but not so much anymore. I generally like indie rock, 80's, and electroclash music. I like gothic lolita fashion, but I'm not terribly interested in goth music.

I am musical, practical, and careful

I make my living as a freelance computer programmer, mostly for console video games (Game Development). I do a lot of work on playstation portable (PSP) and Nintendo DS but have worked on Playstation 2, X Box, Playstation One, Sega Saturn, and Sega Genesis games. I work on a contract basis, so I am either completely free all the time, or completely busy all the time, depending on whether I have a contract or not. I am also a musician and a web designer but I don't make much money at those. I DO enjoy writing and recording songs and playing them live is a real rush, but I don't earn my living with that. I feel that it is good to have hobbies that you don't earn your living at, because often things you do for work you end up hating eventually. So, performing music and crossdressing are things I do for the rush of excitement... often at the same time.

I can figure out almost anything technological, but I'm very shy around people. I'm really skilled at being a transvestite... I'm pretty good with my hair and my makeup and building the illusion of femininity. I seem to be good at making a living and staying out of debt. I'm an excellent C/C++ programmer. I'm really good at churning out synthpop and indie rock music on guitar and synthesizer. I'm great at solving problems... I'm an engineer, after all! I'm really great at being geeky, but I'm trying to reduce my skill in that. I can still talk your head off about certain topics, though, like anime, antique computers, video game consoles, the real estate market, being self-employed, trannydom, Japan and J-Pop music, synthesizers, computer stuff... but I try not to!

I have a strong sense of justice. People, I will give a certain amount of slack, but if a business or venue treats me badly, I'll never go there again. Ok, I suppose that's not the first thing people notice about me, but it's something that is often noticed about my personality.

Other TG people often notice that I wear my real hair.

Guys often purport to notice my legs, but I suspect they notice my incredible cleavage technology first ;) Girls too.

But I think the real thing that people notice first is that I am non-female... I take pride in my craft, but often I'm over 6' tall in heels.

I used to read tons of science fiction and fantasy back in my high-school days. Now, not so much. I've always been a big fan of Larry Niven's works: Dream Park, Ringworld, the Known Space series. Barbara Hambly's early work (Time of the Dark Trilogy) was also quite good. Douglas Adams was a favorite, as was Alan Dean Foster. I read everybody, though. These days I don't read so much science fiction as I feel the stories just tend to repeat and I'm more interested in having my own adventures.

Movies... well, I like some pretty geeky movies. Tron, Buckeroo Banzai, Big Trouble in Little China, are some of my favorites. Some of the more modern movies are ok, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Nanny McPhee were enjoyable. I generally prefer my movies to be whimsical and divorced from reality... I've got plenty of reality of my own...

Music. I am a musician, and my music generally has a new wave] or [80's] quality about it. I write on guitar and synth, and generally play guitar when I play live. Of newer music I tend to like electroclash (darkwave? Whatever "Ladytron" and "The Faint" are.) and indie rock and occasionally even industrial. Of course, I like a lot of 80's music as well.

Foods. Spaghetti is my favorite food, but only when I make it myself... nobody puts enough meat in the sauce (sorry vegetarians!) My favorite vegetable is the carrot (mind out of the gutter, please!), but I only like them raw, not so much cooked. My favorite fruit is the persimmon (at least, I think it's a fruit). I enjoy unfiltered apple juice and musli cereal from Trader Joes. I also like smoothies, hot chocolate, banana chips and pumpkin pie. Oh, yes, and dark chocolate! Not that I don't like other things, but those are my favorites.

Material things don't mean that much to me. Companionship, love, security, respect, attention, and health are the most important things. Alas, I do without some of them on a regular basis.

I like to think about how things work, and how things could be better. I think about transportation systems, and people's work lives, and website revenue streams, and videogame controls, and cute clothes, and CD marketing, and live music performance, and how video effects and animation are created, and why the user interfaces of most computer programs are so bad, why games from the 80's were fun and games now aren't so much, how trends and antitrends are constantly at work on the same things simultaneously, why do we find Hello Kitty cute, how computer automation has eliminated the white collar work force and how that was inevitable, how a large underclass keeps the cost of goods low for the upper classes and whether that is really a good idea or not, do I use too much mascara, will the cost of real estate ever come down, would it be better to make a bicycle with a gear/shaft drive than a chain drive, does laser hair removal really work, or have I wasted my money, should I start a centrist third political party, do I need to refill the ink in my printer, how are my investments doing, what is the best way to meet new people, do they call the music I like electroclash, synthtron, glitchcore, nu synthpop, glitz, synthcore, electopop, euroclash, robotrash, synthpunk, or futurepop, could we genetically engineer animals to be used as engines in cars, would that be a good idea, should we unconcrete the LA river and try to capture the rainfall, or would the city erode into the ocean, if I had real breasts would I get any work done ever again, is it possible for there to be an honest politician, is capitalism the only way, does true capitalism actually exist... did I remember to eat today?

Well, I used to go out to clubs to try and meet people, until the clubs I liked closed. I'm probably at home looking at the LA Weekly looking in vain for a band to see or something fun to do. Lots of tranny venues and open-mike music venues closed recently, so I don't have so many places to go as I used to.

I didn't date for twelve years because I thought being a transvestite made me ineligible for love and companionship of human beings. Now am ok with myself, but I'm starting a bit late and don't know the dating rules. Evidently as the male I'm supposed to do all the approaching and make all of the moves. Obviously I'm not very comfortable with the traditional gender roles, although I'm starting to resign myself to them. I'm very, very shy. I'm ok once a conversation has started, but I have a hard time approaching women.
