I'm a fit, high-energy but easy-going guy with two grown kids and
an 8-year-old grandson. After I was
widowed 2 1/2 years ago I found that the good things of
life are better shared than experienced alone.

I live in a beautiful place, even if it's a tad too cold for much
of the year. My late wife and I vacationed in sunny, warm places
and went on cruises, which I still want to do, but rather with a
companion than alone. I'm sure there are many adventures ahead to
share.

I am a practicing architect and writer who started out in Utah, served a Peace Corps stint in Somalia, worked in Costa Rica and Liberia, and have lived in New Hampshire for the past 28 years. Music has always been my passion. I currently play bassoon in a college orchestra and piano accompaniment for a vocalist. I enjoy making great dinners for friends and having an evening of music, even if I am the only performer. I am an inveterate tinkerer--always fiddling around with stained glass, woodworking, or tinkering with the house.

My friends tell me that I try to find an architectural solution to every problem. Example: My cat wouldn't drink her water without kicking the bowl around first, to get the water moving, usually spilling it on the floor. I solved the problem by installing the bowl inside an inverted plastic trash can lid that was weighted down by a piece of steel. Still, the cat gives me dirty looks when she uses it.

I'd like to say that I read the great books, but unfortunately, it's mostly trashy crime novels on my Kindle. Tend to gravitate to musicals, romantic comedies, any film by Mel Brooks or Cristopher Guest and the old ones by Woody Allen. Spicy, exotic food. Music from the "great American songbook, classical, and Jazz.

Going out to dinner with friends. Watching a Netflix movie or playing Scrabble afterward.

I enjoy rolling in snow after a session in my backyard sauna sunbathing naked on the enclosed deck. Also enjoy going to nudist resorts and taking clothing-optional cruises.

You are fit, smart, liberal, appreciate good music, witty, open-minded, and appreciate small-town or rural life (too tall an order?).
